在制动系统故障期间,车辆的制动系统可能需要额外的制动力,以便在一定距离内使车辆停止。例如,当制动助力器失效时,可能需要来自驾驶员的附加的制动力以便补偿缺少的制动力。较少的制动力可能增加车辆的停止距离。一些车辆(例如电动和混合动力车辆)包括再生制动系统。附加的制动力可以来源自再生制动系统,以便补偿由于制动助力器故障而损失的制动力。

附加地,响应于驾驶员制动请求,电子控制器104向再生制动系统108提供命令310以生成再生制动力312。因此,在制动系统100的正常操作期间,总力302包括来自再生制动系统110的再生制动力312和来自摩擦制动系统110的摩擦制动力315。在正常操作期间,摩擦制动力315包括机械力306和放大制动力314二者。然而,如下面更详细解释的,摩擦制动力315可以仅包括机械力306或放大制动力314。

图4A图示了无制动故障状态400。在无制动故障状态下,再生制动系统108产生再生制动力312,并且摩擦制动系统110产生包括机械力306和放大制动力314二者的摩擦制动力315。
返回到图2,在框204处,电子控制器104确定制动故障状态(关于图4B - 4D更详细地描述)。制动故障状态是制动系统100中的故障。在一些实施例中,确定制动故障状态可以包括确定制动助力器111的功能性故障。响应于确定制动故障状态,在框206处,电子控制器104基于驾驶制动请求304向一个或多个车轮(例如118、120、122和/或124)施加制动力302(见图3)。
图4B至4D各自图示了不同种类的制动故障状态。在一些实施例中,确定制动故障状态可以包括确定制动故障状态是单个制动电路故障还是制动助力系统故障(例如,摩擦制动系统108内的故障)。如图4B中所图示的,在制动助力系统故障的情况下,当制动故障状态是制动助力系统故障状态402时,放大制动力314可能不可用,或者如果可用也可能不具有足以使车辆102减速的量值。在该情况下,再生制动力312被施加到车辆102的单个车轴(例如,前车轴114或后车轴116)的轮胎,并且机械力306被施加到所有轮胎118、120、122和124。
在单个制动电路故障的情况下,用于轮胎118、120、122和124中的一个或多个的摩擦制动力315可能不可用,或者如果可用也可能不具有足以使车辆102减速的量值。在这样的情况下,再生制动力312可以被施加到单个车轴(例如,前车轴114或后车轴116),而摩擦制动力314(包括机械制动力306和放大制动力二者)被施加到轮胎118、120、122和124——只要单个电路故障尚未影响到特定轮胎与摩擦制动系统108之间的电路即可。在一些实施例中,摩擦制动系统110可以是垂直分离制动系统或对角分离系统。在垂直分离制动系统(也称为前与后分离系统)中,前车轴114上的轮胎118和120耦合到一个制动电路,而轮胎122和124耦合到第二制动电路。在对角分离制动系统中,轮胎118和124耦合到一个制动电路,而轮胎120和122耦合到第二制动电路。在任一种情况下,电路之一中的故障导致施加在两个轮胎上的制动力的损失。
如图4C中所图示的,当摩擦制动系统110是垂直分离制动系统时(当制动故障状态是垂直分离制动故障状态404时),再生制动力312被施加在车辆102的单个车轴(例如,前车轴114或后车轴116)上,从而补偿由于对应的单个制动电路的故障而在轮胎118和120上损失的摩擦制动力315。由功能制动电路产生的摩擦制动力315(包括机械制动力306和放大制动力314二者)被施加到后车轴116上的轮胎122和124。

其中,当所述制动故障状态是单个制动电路故障并且摩擦制动系统是对角分离制动系统时,摩擦制动力被施加在车辆的第一车轮以及与第一车轮成对角的车辆的第二车轮上,并且再生制动力被施加到车辆的单个车轴。
2.根据权利要求1所述的制动系统,其中摩擦制动系统包括制动助力器,并且其中确定所述制动故障状态包括确定制动助力器的功能性故障。

其中,当所述制动故障状态是单个制动电路故障并且摩擦制动系统是对角分离制动系统时,摩擦制动力被施加在车辆的第一车轮以及与第一车轮成对角的车辆的第二车轮上,并且再生制动力被施加到车辆的单个车轴。
8.根据权利要求7所述的方法,其中摩擦制动系统包括制动助力器,并且其中确定制动故障状态包括确定制动助力器的功能性故障。
9.根据权利要求7所述的方法,其中,当所述制动故障状态是单个制动电路故障并且摩擦制动系统是垂直分离制动系统时,再生制动力被施加在车辆的单个车轴上。
10.根据权利要求7所述的方法,其中,当所述制动故障状态是制动助力故障时,再生制动力被施加到车辆的单个车轴,并且不施加摩擦制动力。
11.根据权利要求7所述的方法,所述方法进一步包括确定再生制动系统的电池容量,并且当所述电池容量超过预定充电水平时施加再生制动力。
12.根据权利要求7所述的方法,其中,由摩擦制动系统生成的摩擦制动力包括选自由放大制动力和对应于驾驶员制动请求的机械制动力组成的组中的至少一个。
