The invention discloses a method for shortening the space between small potted segments of scindapsus aureus and improving the ornamental quality, which comprises the following steps: selecting a cultivation container: selecting a flowerpot with a water filtering hole at the bottom, and filling sandy soil in the flowerpot; selecting the cutting slips: cutting branches with the length of 15-30cm on a strong stock plant by using scissors treated by disinfectant, cutting 1-2 sections of young leaves at the base part, cutting one branch from each other as a cutting, and sterilizing in the disinfectant for 3-5 minutes after cutting; preparing a chemical regulating agent: compounding paclobutrazol, calcium nitrate and surfactant into an aqueous solution to prepare a chemical regulating agent; and (3) soaking the cutting slips treated by the S2 in a chemical regulating agent for 10S, inserting the soaked cutting slips into sandy soil in a flowerpot, and regularly spraying the chemical regulating agent on the cutting slips.
