在包含有在其两面中的任意一面敷盖了合适的、同质的塑料材料比如聚乙烯的泡沫塑料层的一种叠层结构中,所包括的材料的重量将是比较轻的,但是,不管是在把材料制成包装容器之前还是在之后-即:包装容器内的东西已经消耗掉且所用的包装材料要循环使用,当处理包装材料时都会出现另一问题,由于其自身结构的原因,所以它的厚度比较大,而且,还由于所夹住的空气气室阻止材料紧密压缩。所以,难以将材料压缩到紧密的尺寸。
除了已经知道具有由含有纸层、塑料层和可能有的铝箔层的包装用叠层制品制成的自撑式包装容器壁的平行六面体包装盒之外,目前还有用于例如乳制品的袋式或软垫式包装容器,这些包装容器是用比较薄的包装材料制成的,这类包装材料一般只包括一个柔性的、可热封的塑料材料层或者相互连结在一起的多个柔性的、可热封的塑料材料层。与以自撑式包装容器壁为特点的包装容器相比,袋式或软垫式包装容器所具有的缺陷是,它们难以处理,不仅是在运向零售点或运出零售点的运输过程中,而且还在由消费者处理和倒空过程中。
上述的包装容器,例如,含有由叠层的纸和塑料形成的自撑式包装容器壁的平行六面体类容器,它们自身要比最佳设计的袋式包装含有更多的包装材料。然而,为了保证有足够的材料刚性,以便能够形成包装容器以及在封口状态和开口状态它们都能处理(handling),上述这种情况被认为是必不可少的。使用包含了,例如,用以获得所希望的刚性的纤维材料和用以获得所希望的不透液性的塑料的这种类型的材料,已经组成了能获得最合理的最佳性能的包装用叠层制品。然而,由多种类型的材料所组成的包装用叠层制品将难以回收和重复利用,这是因为,在重复利用时,不同类型的材料必须要相互分离而且要分别处理。其处理工艺难以迅速、简便的实行。然而,如果希望仅仅由同质的塑料来生产包装用叠层制品,则为了获得足够的的刚性,必须一个不现实的尺寸的塑料厚度,而且,这样本身引起相当大程度的塑料消耗。由于塑料的不透液性能并不明显地随着塑料的厚度而改变,所以,现有技术中,已经有人偿试通过把包装材料设计成“隔板”(bulkhead)的形式,亦即,通过把两个比较薄的塑料层以彼此间有间隔的放置,以便它们的挠曲刚度将是大的,从而来获得一种既拥有理想的刚度而又含有较小量的塑料的包装材料。为了以一个合适的相互间距固定上述的塑料层,需要一个轻的、经济的中间层,一种这类以前使用的层是泡沫塑料。这类叠层制品可以用单一类型的塑料生产,这样有利于材料的回收和循环利用。然而,为了获得理想的刚度,该叠层制品必须制得比较厚,而且在排空了的包装容器的废弃方面,这样还导致了实际的处理问题。此外,难以生产一种具有足够高的抗弯性的这类包装材料。
EP512187涉及用于包装易碎物品的缓冲垫部件,包括多个单个的垫形室,用于折叠或包绕待包装物品。由于此物品不提供任何材料的刚性或自撑性,故不能用于消费品包装的自撑式壁。
因此,本发明的一个目的是,设计一种包装材料,这种包装材料具有如此的支持能力或挠性刚度,以致于它适宜于制作自撑式包装容器璧,虽然如此,它却使用了最小量的塑料。
本发明的另一个目的是,设计一种包装材料,这种包装材料具有最大的刚性和高的抗弯曲能力,但是,通过折叠和热封,它又能形成包装容器。
本发明的又一个目的是,设计一种只包含一种类型的材料的包装材料。
本发明的再一个目的是,设计一种包装材料,这种包装材料与现有的材料相比,显著地降低了废品率和损耗,而这两者是必须加以控制的,此外,它还克服了上面指出的缺陷。
根据本发明,上述的和其它的目的已经被实现,其技术方案是一种包装材料,包括相互连接的柔性的材料层,按一种分布在材料层整个表面区域内的线性密封缝的图案而相互连接,线性密封缝把所述材料层限定的中间腔室分隔成许多个相互连接的狭长小室的图案,其特征在于,所述小室的图案限定壁板,该壁板中将充填压力气体而形成可用于液体或可泵送食品的消费品包装用的自撑式壁。
根据本发明的包装材料的优选实施例的进一步的特征如本申请其它部分所述。
本发明进一步的目的之一是提供一种简便且合理的生产上述类型的包装材料的方法。
本发明进一步的目的之二是提供一种生产方法,该方法能够以一种所希望的密封图形来密封包含在包装材料内的层。
本发明进一步的目的之三是提供一种对如此产生的腔室填充气体的方法。
根据本发明,上述的和其它的目的已经实现,其技术方案是,一种生产用作消费品包装的自撑式包装容器壁的、含有相互连接的、柔性的材料层的包装材料的方法,这种包装材料可适用于液体或可泵送食品,其特征在于,把材料层沿着它们的表面的一部分相互密封在一起,从而形成中间的腔室,腔室分隔成相互连接的狭长小室的图案,把腔室填充以加了压的气体。
根据本发明的方法的优选实施例的进一步的特征从本发明其它部分所述。
本发明的额外目的:
本发明更进一步的目的是提供使用上述包装材料的一种方式,这一目的可根据本发明其它部分的描述来实现。
本发明的包装材料、它的生产方法以及它的使用方式,使得能够以简单的和非常经济的方式得到具有自撑式壁的包装容器,该容器壁在刚度(或称抗弯性)和材料重量之间拥有最佳的关系,而且,它可以由单一一种类型的的塑料来生产。
下面将参照附图更详细地描述根据于本发明的包装材料和其生产方法的优选实施例,这些附图仅仅示出了对理解本发明来说必不可少的那些细节。这些附图中:

本发明是为一种包装用叠层制器而作出的,这种包装用叠层制品刚硬到足以提供所希望的稳定性,而与此同时,它又足够柔软,能够折叠,形成成品的包装容器。因此,根据本发明的以下特征,将进一步实现所用材料的量的减少,该特征是,籍借夹持在位于外层之间的腔室内的气体或空气的帮助,把叠层制品的外层以相互之间留有一理想的间隙的关系保持住。更确切地说,包装材料由一叠层制品组成,该叠层制品包括第一和第二两个柔性材料层1、2,这两个柔性材料层以相互之间有一间隔的关系布置,而且,它们以分布于层1、2的整个表面范围内的密封缝3的型式彼此连结在一起,于是,在层1和2之间形成一狭长的,例如,螺旋形的腔室4。把腔室4用合适的方法填充上加了压的气体或空气,于是、材料层1和2将自动地以彼此间有一象层1和2的相互密封部分所容许的那么大的距离的方式保持住。图1示出了这种包装材料的第一个实施例。
图2示出了根据本发明的包装材料的第二个实施例,在这一实施例中,外部的材料层1、2借助一附加的中间材料层5而相互连结在一起,材料层5在两个外材料层1和2之间形成一中间层。中间材料层5借助于线形密封缝3的中介而与两外材料层1和2当中的每一个相连,同时,腔室4(其被填充以加了压的气体)处于层之间。腔室4由两个外材料层1和2限定,这两外材料层或直接地或间接地彼此相连,而且它们一起限定腔室的范围。按其顺序,腔室4通过线性密封缝3和中间层5而分隔成相互连结的小室或子室6的形式。这一点下面将列详细地描述。
图3示出了根据本发明的包装材料的第三个实施例。该实施例就象图2的实施例那样也包括三个材料层,即,两个外材料层1和2,以及夹在它们之间的材料层5。材料层1、2和3通过点状密封3′而相互连结在一起,这些斑状密封3′将两个外层1和2分别连结到中间材料层5的一个侧面上,于是,在它们之间形成腔室4,该腔室被中间层5分隔成两部分,然而,这些部分借助于中间层5上的一些孔(未示出)而相互联通。当然,点状密封3′可以补充以线性密封,由线性密封将腔室4分隔成所希望的结构的小室(未示出)。
因此,图1、2和3所示的包装材料的三种实施例都包括两个外材料层1、2,它们中的每一个可随意地由一个或多个叠层的或共同挤压形成的分层组成,这要根据所希望的包装材料特性而定。但是如果材料层能够由单一类型的塑料组成,那么,从材料的回改和循环利用的角度来看,这显然是一种优点。业已证实,一种适合于包装大多数种类的食品的聚合物是聚乙烯对苯二甲酸酯(PET),这种物质具有足够高的气体阻挡性能,以确保夹持在腔室内的气体不会通过材料壁而逸出。同时,PET又拥有高的弹性系数,亦即,它不容易延伸,这是确保包装材料的刚性所不可缺少的。通过使用改性PET,它将变得又能够以一种令人满意的方式自身热封材料,这样可免除使用粘结剂,从而能够在包装材料中内密封。
包装材料的总的刚性一方面是由包含在材料层内的材料特性所决定的,另一方面是由材料的几何形状所决定的。象前面已经指出的那样,已经表明,在技术方面需要有一种能够用以制作自撑式包装容器的包装材料,这种材料满足材料的刚性方面的极端要求。通过使用这种所谓的叠层结构,也就是说,通过在外材料层1、2都具有高的弹性系数-即当受力时不容易延伸-的情况下把这两个材料层以彼此间有一较大的距离的方式布置,则可获得所希望的刚性。材料的几何结构应当是这样的-即:外材料层1和2相互之间以最大的距离固定,这一要求通过把腔室4填充以加了压的气体来实现。当包装材料遭受弯曲载荷时,逾量压力会阻止受到压应力的材料层被折叠到一起和弯曲,这将有害地影响包装材料的总刚性。
在逾量压力能够阻止材料的几何结构发生改变的情况下,材料的刚性将只由外层的弹性系数与两外层之间的距离-即包装材料的总厚度一起来决定。除了前面提出的对所包含的种类的材料的有关阻气性能、易熔性、可密封性等方面的要求之外,主要价值在于两外层是由受力时不容易伸长的材料制造的。
根据本发明的包装材料具有两个外材料层1、2,每个外材料层包含多个不同类型材料的成分层,当然,包装材料的总的性能能够是最优的。理想的是,为每个材料层选择一高弹性系数的中间层区域,并在其两面各覆盖以具有最优的密封性能的外层。例如,定向的聚合物薄膜通常具有高的弹性系数,但它们却不太适合于热封。鉴于这种原因,能够应用的这类薄膜的例子是聚酯,聚酰胺或者聚丙烯。就外材料层1和2来说,当把这类薄膜用作中间薄膜部分时,要在定向的聚合物薄膜的两面各涂敷一个能密封的或者可熔的热塑性塑料比如聚乙烯的层。也可以使用离子键型粘着层,而且,通常能够把这些附加的层部分相互结合起来,以便形成全部的材料层1、2。如果例如以已知的形式把气体阻隔层金属化,或涂覆玻璃层或以其它方式的改善阻隔特性,那么包装材料的总体气体阻隔又可进一步得以改善。当然,当使用就密封在一起来说是不能相互兼容的材料层时,也能够借助于常规的热熔方式来提供密封。
由于根据本发明的包装材料的这种结构,该几何结构与所包含的材料的性质相结合的结果是,将获得能够制作自撑式包装容器壁所需的理想刚性,因此,材料层能够非常的薄。举例来说,应当指出的是,业已证明,厚度仅仅10微米的定向的聚酯就能够产生出形成容积为1升的平行六面体包装容器所需的足够刚性的包装材料。然而,在实际应用中是由稍稍厚一点的材料,比如,15到20微米之间的材料制成的在这种情况下,容积为1升的平行六面体包装容器所用的塑料的总重大约为10克,与此相比较,容积为1升的瓶子的总的塑料重量大约为40克。
用以填充腔室4并在一定的逾量压力下支撑腔室的气体最好是空气,但是,也可以使用其它一些合适的气体,比如,氮气或者二氧化碳气体。正如前面所指出的那样,气体部分地保持包装材料的两外材料层1、2相互间有一距离的作用,还部分地起阻止材料层(该材料层在材料弯曲时要遭受压缩应力)折叠在一起而造成的材料塌陷。只有当气体处于一定的逾量压力(其量应当至少约为0.5巴)时,才能达到该后一个目的。气体压力的增加,可进一步减少材料在弯曲时发生塌陷的可能,根据包装材料的尺寸、最终的包装容器的大小以及它的所希望的寿命,气体可以处于约达10巴那么大的逾量压力。然而,在大多数情况下,逾量压力在2~3巴之间是最令人满意的。
如前所述,处在两个外材料层1、2之间的腔室4通过一种合适的方式,例如,线性密封缝3而分隔成呈长方形通道形状的大量的子室或小室,这些子室或小室相互连在一起。在不违背本文所描述的发明原理的精神和范围的前提下,上述的小室可以是任意选择的结构,但是,如果想要由包装材料生产规则形状的,比如,平行六面体包装容器,那么,由线性的、相互平行的密封缝3形成小室是合适的,密封缝3相互之间基本上等距地布置。因此,当包装材料被填充以加了压的气体时,将会产生一个外部的材料表面,则表面具有“波形的”外观,亦即,由若干个平行的“填充了气体的塑料筒”组成。自然,如果想要在包装容器的表面上产生一种注册商标、说明文之类的凸起图案,那么,这些气室中的一个或多个可以是其它结构形状。由线性密封缝3所产生的规则的图案如图4所示,图4示出了用于图5所示类型的平行六面体包装容器的包装材料坯料的一个可能的实施例。从图4可以清楚地看出,材料部分7是如何通过相互平行的线性密封缝3而产生长方形小室6的图案的。最终形成的包装容器8(图5)具有四个自支撑的竖直壁板9,这四块壁板在图4中也是可见的。在每两块壁板9之间,包装容器8具有一呈折叠线10形状的拐角,正象从图4中所看到的那样,折叠线10是这样产生的-即,位于不同壁板9上的、限定小室6的那些线性密封缝3相互错开一个距离,错开之距离相当于一个小室的宽度的一半。因此,在一块壁板和另一块相邻壁板之间的转折处,由小室所形成的填充了气体的“圆筒”的直径减小一半,这样,赋予材料较小的抵抗沿折叠线10弯折的阻力。因此,材料部分7可以很容易地重新形成矩形横截面结构的包装容器。除了用以产生穿过相互错位的小室6的组之间的转折处的弱化折叠线的方法之外,折叠线还可以用其它方法产生。因此,在那些需要相互密封到一起的材料区域-通常就是这样沿着材料部分7的平行的边缘-材料也将呈现出较大的折叠趋势,在所说的材料部分7的平行边缘区,边缘密封缝11把具有小室6的材料区与边缘通道12划开界来,边缘通道12被用来向小室6填充气体,这一点下面将详细描述。
由小室6和边缘通道12组成的腔室可以通过一个排气装置13而与周围大气相通,排气装置13可以呈一预备的材料薄弱点的形式,这种材料薄弱点使得能够夹住和去掉包装材料的一个外材料层1、2的一部分。排气装置13也可以由刺在一个外材料层1或2上的一个孔和以气密的形式盖在该孔上的一个开口带组成。当包装容器内的东西已经倒空,并被收集到一起准备重复利用、重新再用或废弃掉时,把排气装置13打开,以便排空腔室内的气体,因此,包装材料塌下,并可以简单地向下压到很小的体积。当然,排气装置可以由一个在包装容器上的印刷标记代替,该标记指明此位置的容器的壁可以用用刀子、剪子或类似工具刺破。
在被小室6所分割的区域的上方和下方,包装材料7显示出两个端部分14,在这两个端部分,包装材料的两个外材料层1、2都要沿着它们的全部表面而相互热封在一起。在把包装材料重新制成图5所示的平行六面体包装容器时要使用这些端头部分,目的是形成包装容器的上端壁和下端壁,上、下端壁的形成用一种已知的方式来实现,即,把材料在一个横向的密封片15处一起熔化,这样,就会形成两个相对的角上的折片16,这两个折片16在经过压平之后被折叠进包装容器的端壁,并贴着包装容器的端壁而密封。这项技术是本领域所公知的,因此,在本文中不大可能需要做任何详细的说明。
当生产根据本发明的包装材料时,要把上述的两个材料层1、2相互密封,以便形成腔室,然后,把该腔室填充上加了压的气体。如上所述,材料层1和2可以各自由不同的成分层组成,这些成分层以一种已知的方法相互叠加在一起或者共同挤压出。如果材料层的相互面对着的表面是由热塑性塑料制成的,那么,材料层1、2在它们的一部分表面的范围内被理想地热封在一起,从而产生出理想的密封图形。两个材料层可以这样相互热封-即:使得它们在密封夹板或密封辊之间通过,这些夹板或辊的工作面上呈现所希望结构的可加热的密封线。提供理想的密封图形的另一可选择的方案是,在材料1、2的互相面对的表面之间施加一种抗密封剂,例如,一种耐热印刷油墨。这种方法显示于图4中,在这里,至少一个材料层的阴影区域被涂敷了抗密封剂。材料部分7的未涂敷的表面可以通过加热并同步地或者紧接着地加压整个表面而简单地热封到一个常规的热塑性塑料层上,在这种情况下,只有材料层的未涂敷的部分将相互密封。当这项密封工作发生之后,材料层的边缘通道中的一个或者两个都设置成与一气体(例如,空气、氮气或二氧化碳)源(例如一个外部的压力气瓶)相连通,借此,把腔室和形成腔室的小室6充气,达到所希望的逾量压力。充气这项工作可以和材料的生产同时进行,或者不同时进行,直到把材料制成各个包装容器。
就在包装材料的腔室内获得理想的气体压力来说,另一种可替换的方案是把界定上述腔室的一个材料层的表面涂敷以气体发生涂料,这种涂料要在材料层密封到一起之前以一种希望的图案强加到材料上。如果这种气体发生物质还具有抗密封特性,那么,为此目的而使用的印刷油墨当然就可以省去。也可以使用抗密封剂和气体发生剂的混合物。一种合适的气体发生剂是碳酸氢盐,其在有热量供应的情况下会产生二氧化碳。这种热能的供应可以和热封操作共同进行,或者在后期进行。
当然,那些固有的不能热封的材料也能够借助于合适的粘合剂或键合剂,例如,所谓的热熔物质(hot-melt),而相互连结在一起,粘合剂按所希望的密封图案涂敷在材料层之间。
如果制成的包装容器显现一个预备的开口结构,则该开口结构可以旋转在包装容器的端壁上,在包装容器壁上可以设置一个孔,但应设有气体流出包装材料的腔室4。如果包装容器的端壁也设置有充了气的小室6,那么,这些端壁可以按这样一种方式设计-即,要界定一个密封的区域,把任意已知类型的开口结构放置在该密封的区域。
从上面的叙述可以清楚地看出,本发明的思想-即,包含了被加了压的气体分隔开的两个外材料层包装材料的生产和应用-是如何能够用来形成包装材料以及具有简直就是任何所希望的结构的包装容器的。由于本发明,包装容器壁将是自撑(立)式的,而且,包装容器将具有最大的刚性,而没有象传统观念那样在包装材料内包含固定层。因此,它将把塑料材料的消耗减至最小,同时,由于避免使用非塑料材料,因此,包装材料的回收和重复利用是非常方便的。由于通过放出气体而使材料塌陷之可能性,所以,所用的包装材料的处理也将变得比较简单。
不应当认为本发明只限于上面所述的和附图所示的那些内容,在不脱离附加的权利要求的精神和范围的情况下,还可能有很多改进。
Claims (20)
1.一种包装材料,包括相互连接的柔性的材料层(1、2),按一种分布在材料层整个表面区域内的线性密封缝(3)的图案而相互连接,线性密封缝(3)把所述材料层限定的中间腔室(4)分隔成许多个相互连接的狭长小室(6)的图案,其特征在于,所述小室(6)的图案限定壁板(9),该壁板(9)中将充填压力气体而形成可用于液体或可泵送食品的消费品包装用的自撑式壁。
2.如权利要求1所述的包装材料,其特征在于,材料层(1、2)由不透气的、可热封的材料组成。
3.如权利要求1所述的包装材料,其特征在于,它包含一个呈处在中间的或夹层状态的附加材料层(5),附加材料层(5)与两外材料层(1、2)中的每一个相连,并布置成保持两外材料层相互间有一预定的距离的形式。
4.如权利要求1-3中任意一项所述的包装材料,其特征在于,小室(6)是通道状的。
5.如权利要求1-3中任意一项所述的包装材料,其特征在于,它包括一个用以把每个小室(6)与周围大气相连的装置(13)。
6.如权利要求1-3中任意一项所述的包装材料,其特征在于,该材料具有折叠线(10、11),折叠线(10、11)由被相互密封到一起的那些材料区域所界定。
7.如权利要求1-3中任意一项所述的包装材料,其特征在于,该材料具有折叠线(10、11),折叠线(10、11)由相互错位的小室(6)的组之间的转折处所界定。
8.如权利要求1-3中任意一项所述的包装材料,其特征在于,气体处于1~10巴的超压。
9.如权利要求1-3中任意一项所述的包装材料,其特征在于,所说的气体是空气。
10.如权利要求1-3中任意一项所述的包装材料,其特征在于,所说的气体是氮气。
11.一种生产用作消费品包装的自撑式包装容器壁的、含有相互连接的、柔性的材料层的包装材料的方法,这种包装材料可适用于液体或可泵送食品,其特征在于,把材料层(1、2、5)沿着它们的表面的一部分相互密封在一起,从而形成中间的腔室(4),腔室(4)分隔成相互连接的狭长小室的图案,把腔室(4)填充以加了压的气体。
12.如权利要求11所述的方法,其特征在于,把材料层(1、2、5)相互面对的表面线性地相互热封一起。
13.如权利要求11所述的方法,其特征在于,把一种抗密封剂施加到材料层的相互面对的表面之间。
14.如权利要求13所述的方法,其特征在于,把抗密封剂按所希望的图案印刷到一个材料层上。
15.如权利要求13所述的方法,其特征在于,抗密封剂是耐热的印刷油墨。
16.如权利要求11-12中任意一项所述的方法,其特征在于,腔室(4)与一外部的压力气体容器相连通。
17.如权利要求11-12中任意一项所述的方法,其特征在于,在密封之前,为腔室(4)设置一个内部气源。
18.如权利要求11-12中任意一项所述的方法,其特征在于,在把材料制成包装容器的同时把气源激活。
19.如权利要求17所述的方法,其特征在于,气源是在材料层被密封到一起之前,以所希望的图案的涂层的方式印刷到材料上的。
20.如权利要求1-10中任意一项或多项所述的包装材料的用途,其特征在于,该种包装材料用于生产食品的包装容器。
