背景技术
将密封材料暴露于油和/或高温可能引起材料特性上的不利改变诸如粘附性降低、机械强度降低、不希望的流动增加以及流动所引起的材料损失。
可商购获得的包含密封材料的产品被描述为由自粘型橡胶制成的乳香脂或乳香脂胶带。这些类型的产品应用于电工业中,诸如应用于输电和配电领域中。它们用于与实心电线的配件和边缘绝缘,并密封防止湿气进入。可将乳香脂材料折叠、拉伸、模塑成不规则形状以提供绝缘、水封和表面保护。已知它们提供一定程度的粘附性和耐化学品性以及防潮性,并且可用于与乙烯基胶带一起使用以达到最佳性能。
发明内容

本发明的密封材料可包含增粘剂。合适增粘剂的非限制性示例包括萜烯树脂、萜烯酚醛树脂、α-蒎烯苯酚树脂、酯化的松香和部分聚合的松香、腈橡胶等。
增粘剂可调控材料的流变特性,诸如例如粘着性、粘附性和可润湿性。增粘剂树脂可用于通过降低粘度、增大未硫化混合物的粘着性以及有助于聚合物自动融合来增强材料的工作能力。
增粘剂树脂通常具有一般介于500和2,000之间的分子量和介于50℃和150℃之间的软化点。增粘剂树脂包括沥青衍生物、萜烯、石油烃树脂和改性酚醛树脂。
为了显著增大材料的粘附能力(粘着性),可能期望使用具有低软化温度的树脂。然而,为了获得具有耐高温性的材料,通常需要具有更高软化温度的增粘剂树脂。当将本发明的组合物在经受大约90℃或更高温度的应用中使用时,特别合适的增粘剂树脂通常表现出通过环和球试验(ASTMD3461-76方法)测量的在约90℃至约150℃范围内的软化温度。
增粘剂通常包含约5重量%至约40重量%的密封材料。在一些实施例中,其包含约10重量%至约30重量%的密封材料。

抗氧化剂通常包含约0.5重量%至约5重量%的密封材料。在一些实施例中,其包含约0.5重量%至约1重量%的密封材料。
本发明的密封材料可包含四氟乙烯低聚物和聚合物诸如聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)。本发明的至少一个实施例包括粉末PTFE。据信,粉末PTFE在混合期间纤丝化。另外据信,纤丝化的PTFE有助于将材料保持在一起并影响其流动特性,从而提供结构支撑和弹性。另外据信,PTFE至少部分地提供了具有耐撕裂性和耐溶剂性特性但不显著增大其粘度(粘度的增大将不利地影响密封材料的挤出和模塑)的材料。
氟化热塑性或弹性体填料通常包含至多约20重量%的密封材料。在一些实施例中,其包含至多约5重量%的密封材料。
本发明的密封材料可包含其它添加剂,取决于材料的期望特性以及其它因素诸如处理方法和条件。其它添加剂的示例包括染料、颜料、阻燃剂、释放助剂等,只要添加剂不负面地影响密封材料的介电特性即可。
本发明的密封材料优选地具有介于约3和约40之间的介电常数,和介于约0.005和约1之间的介电损耗,这使得其适合用于电力电缆接头和终端中。密封材料优选地具有低于约10%,更优选低于5%,并且最优选低于1%的吸油量,这使得其特别适合与充油电缆诸如纸绝缘的铅电缆(PILC)一起使用,其中该纸绝缘物浸渍有油。
本发明的密封材料优选地具有在室温下约65KPa至约130KPa(约23℃)和在50℃下约50KPa至约120KPa的弹性模量。本发明的密封材料优选地具有在23℃下约5%的最小弹性恢复率。这些特性使得密封材料在施用期间容易地处理,表现类似于胶带,而且还可在储存期间耐受高温。本发明的密封材料优选地具有对不锈钢至少约3kg/m、对铜至少约6kg/m、以及对铅至少约80kg/m的180°剥离强度,这使得其适于与各种类型的电力电缆一起使用。
实例
本发明提供了以下实例以有助于理解本发明,并且不构成对本发明范畴的限制。除非另外指明,所有的份数和百分比均按重量计。在以下示例性实例的评价中采用以下测试方法和规程:
材料列表
样品制备
实例1-7的乳香脂材料的组成提供于表1中。表1中的所有量均按重量百分比计。通过在室温下将丙烯酸酯橡胶、粘土、炭黑、增粘剂、抗氧化剂和聚四氟乙烯加入班伯里密炼机中并以100rpm混合5分钟来制备乳香脂材料。将温度升至240℉(115℃),并且将混合速度降至40rpm。加入增塑剂并混合1分钟。将混合速度增大至120rpm,并且将乳香脂材料混合5分钟。当材料的温度达到220℉(104℃)时,混合完成,并且将材料从密炼机中取出。

在150℉(66℃)的液压机中通过将乳香脂材料夹置在有机硅涂布纸的片材之间并挤压成100密耳(2.5mm)的厚度来模塑用于测量电特性和耐油性的样品块。将用于施用到电缆接头上的乳香脂样品挤出通过150℉(66℃)的狭缝模具以产生具有宽度为约1"(2.5cm)且厚度为100密耳(2.5mm)的连续乳香脂条。随着乳香脂被挤出,两侧覆盖有有机硅涂布纸。
将用于粘合测试的乳香脂样品挤出在两片衬垫之间到宽度为约0.75"(19mm)宽且厚度为100密尔(2.5mm)的条中,然后切割成长度为5.0"(12.7cm)的件。从乳香脂的一侧移除衬垫,将乳香脂放置在金属表面上,并使用51b辊的一遍扫描向乳香脂的衬垫覆盖侧施加压力。将金属板的一端夹在MTS张力测试仪的下钳口中。从金属板剥离乳香脂条的底端的大约0.5"长的部分,并将其粘结到聚酯胶带条以制备6”引线。将聚酯夹到用于180°剥离强度测量的MTS张力测试仪的上钳口中。
用于动态力学分析(DMA)和弹性恢复测试的样品通过如下方法来制备:在200℉(93℃)的液压机中将材料挤压成适当厚度(对于DMA,3mm;对于弹性恢复,1.5mm)的块。使用具有25mm直径的模具从块上切出圆盘。
测试方法
介电常数(相对诱电率,κ)和介电损耗(电损耗因数,tanδ)使用ASTM-D150-2004,“用于固体电绝缘物的AC损耗特性和电容率(介电常数)的标准测试方法(StandardTestMethodsforACLossCharacteristicsandPermittivity(DielectricConstant)ofSolidElectricalInsulation)”中指定的程序进行测量。
吸油量的程度通过将2"×4"(5cm×10cm)的已知重量的乳香脂条浸没在194℉(90℃)的聚丁烯油中4天进行测量。将样品从油中取出,去除过量的油,并将样品称重。在浸没后以重量增加百分比计算吸油量。
乳香脂材料密封PILC电缆的接头区域以及在高电压条件下执行的能力使用IEEE-404,“额定2.5kV-500kV的挤出和层压介电屏蔽电缆接头(ExtrudedandLaminatedDielectricShieldedCableJointsRated2.5kVto500kV)”进行评估。
使用DMA来确定作为温度函数的储能模量(G’)和损耗模量(G”),利用的是Rheometrics型RSA-2固体动态机械分析仪。圆盘形乳香脂样本在1Hz的恒定频率下以5℃/min的加热速率在平行板模型中进行测试。
乳香脂样品在施加恒定压力后恢复弹性的能力如下进行测量。将圆盘形样本放置在有机硅涂布纸防粘衬垫的片材之间。然后将具有防粘衬垫的样品放置在两块铝板之间,并且将78psi(0.54MPa)的气动压力施加在两板之间并持续30秒的时间。释放压力,移除防粘衬垫,并立即测量直径(d初始)。使该样品在室温下静置1小时,之后测量最终直径(d最终)。对于高温测试,将样品夹置在防粘衬垫片材之间,放置在两块铝板之间,然后放置在烘箱中并持续30分钟。将样品从烘箱中取出,立即在两板之间施加30psi(0.21MPa)的压力并持续30秒的时间段。释放压力之后,移除防粘衬垫并立即测量直径(d初始)。使该样品在室温下恢复1小时,之后测量最终直径(d最终)。据观察,大部分的恢复在移除压力后的前几分钟内发生。恢复率百分比使用下式由所测量的直径进行计算:(d初始-d最 终)/(d初始)。
乳香脂与各种金属表面的180°剥离强度使用MTS张力测试仪以12”/min的牵拉速率进行测量。使用不锈钢、铜、和铅的基底,并且记录最大剥离力。
结果

乳香脂实例3的吸油量被确定为0.20重量%。低吸油量是用于PILC应用的乳香脂材料的积极属性。相比之下,一些材料(诸如二氧化硅)吸收高达10-50%的油。
乳香脂实例5用于PILC3-芯接头中以密封分叉区域以及3通引导(3-wayboot)的端部。接头通过了根据IEEE-404的短期测试和长期测试两者。
乳香脂实例6和7的DMA测试结果提供于表3中,其比较了含有PTFE(实例7)的乳香脂样品和不含PTFE(实例6)的乳香脂样品的弹性模量(G’)值。在介于30℃和70℃之间的温度下,实例7展示出比实例6高的弹性模量。然而,在介于80℃和190℃的温度下,实例6和实例7的G’值是相似的。

Claims (20)
1.一种密封材料,其包含:
约20重量%至约70重量%的丙烯酸酯橡胶组分;
约10重量%至约50重量%的流变性填料组分;
约5重量%至约40重量%的增粘剂组分;
约5重量%至约30重量%的增塑剂组分;
约0.5重量%至约5重量%的抗氧化剂组分;
至多约20重量%的介电填料组分;和
至多约20重量%的氟化热塑性或弹性体填料组分。
2.根据权利要求1所述密封材料,其中所述丙烯酸酯橡胶组分包含丙烯酸酯的单体或共聚物。
3.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其中所述丙烯酸酯橡胶选自丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丙酯、丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酸戊酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己酯、丙烯酸辛酯、丙烯酸氰乙酯、丙烯酸甲氧基乙酯、丙烯酸乙氧基乙酯、丙烯酸丁氧基乙酯、丙烯酸乙氧基丙酯、以及它们的组合。
4.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其还包含所述丙烯酸橡胶组分中的交联单体。
5.根据权利要求4所述的密封材料,其中所述交联单体选自氯乙酸乙烯酯、氯乙基乙烯基醚、氯乙酸烯丙酯、丙烯酸缩水甘油酯、甲基丙烯酸缩水甘油酯和烯丙基缩水甘油醚。
6.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其中所述流变性填料选自粘土、碳酸钙、滑石、无机硅酸盐和二氧化硅。
7.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其中所述介电填料选自导电炭黑、非导电炭黑、以及它们的混合物。
8.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其中所述增粘剂选自萜烯树脂、萜烯酚醛树脂和α-蒎烯苯酚树脂。
9.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其包含:
约25重量%至约40重量%的丙烯酸酯橡胶组分;
约15重量%至约40重量%的流变性填料组分;
约10重量%至约30重量%的增粘剂组分;
约10重量%至约20重量%的增塑剂组分;
约0.5重量%至约1重量%的抗氧化剂组分;
至多约10重量%的介电填料组分;和
至多约5重量%的氟化热塑性或弹性体填料组分。
10.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其包含:
约25重量%至约40重量%的丙烯酸酯橡胶组分。
11.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其包含:
约15重量%至约40重量%的流变性填料组分。
12.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其包含:
约10重量%至约30重量%的增粘剂组分。
13.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其包含:
约10重量%至约20重量%的增塑剂组分。
14.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其包含:
约0.5重量%至约1重量%的抗氧化剂组分。
15.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其包含:
至多约10重量%的介电填料组分。
16.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其包含:
至多约5重量%的氟化热塑性或弹性体填料组分。
17.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其在4天内在90℃下具有小于约5重量%的吸油量。
18.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其在4天内在90℃下具有小于约1重量%的吸油量。
19.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其具有介于约3和约40之间的介电常数。
20.根据权利要求1所述的密封材料,其具有介于约0.005和约1之间的介电损耗。
