Abstract
公开了液晶显示器的一种后光发生装置,其透光板30制成相对于散射板10按预定角度倾斜,且该两板之间的空间充有折射率良好的散射材料20。本发明采用透射率良好的散射板10来提高发光率和亮度,同时减少耗电量。
Description
本发明涉及液晶显示器(LCD)的一种后光发生装置,更具体地说,涉及一种光散射结构经过改进、以提高发光效率的液晶显示器的后光发生装置。
通常,液晶显示器如图1所示,包括:在液晶显示器的两个外表面上的偏振滤光层1;借助于安置在液晶显示器内边缘上的密封材料7形成一个密闭空间的前板2和后板3,密闭空间内充有液晶6;彼此对置着、具有一定图形的透明电极4;和定向层5,它以预定的厚度涂敷在透明电极4的上部分及前板2和后板3的整个内侧上在各透明电极之间露出的部分。
上述液晶显示器不是象阴极射线管或真空荧光显示器之类的那种自行发光的器件,而是象复印那样的非发光性显示器,显示是借助于外来的光进行的。液晶显示器有两种:比如前反射式液晶显示器和透射式液晶显示器,前者利用通过前板2入射的光来显示因液晶排列所产生的预定图形,后者利用后光发生装置从液晶显示器后侧入射的后光进行显示。本发明是对后者(即透射式液晶显示器的后光发生装置)进行改进。
图2示出了普通的透射式液晶显示器后光发生装置的结构。该后光发生装置包括:隔着偏振滤光层1对着液晶显示器后板3底部配置的散射板11;装在散射板11底部的透光板12;装在透光板12底部的反射板13,用以将进入透光板12的光中的散射光反射到散射板11上;安置在透光板12一侧的灯L,用以将光照射到透光板12上。灯L具有总厚度预定的荧光膜和反射膜,灯L本身装在外壳H中。
在上述结构的普通后光发生装置中,灯L照来的光经透光板12入射到散射板11,再由散射板11散射,使其入射到液晶显示器后板中。
但在这种普通的后光发生装置中,入射光只由散射板11加以散射,因而灯L产生的大量光损失掉。因此,由于透过散射板11且入射到后板上的光量小,显示器上看不到亮度足够的图象。这是因为不可能采用具有良好透射系数的散射板来减小图象的这部分亮度差,因而需要有一个解决办法。鉴于一般散射板的透射率约为20-30%,因此,大量的光在散射板中损失掉,减少了显示图象所需要的光量。于是,由于液晶显示器的亮度下降,为补偿亮度,加大加到灯上的功率,从而使图象达到所要求的亮度。但这一下却增加了耗电量。
本发明试图解决上述问题,其目的是提供一种液晶显示器后光发生装置,该装置采用高光透射率的散射板提高灯的入射光利用率,且比普通液晶显示器功耗低。
为达到本发明的上述目的,我们提供了液晶显示器的一种后光发生装置,该装置包括:面向液晶显示器后板的底部的一个散射板;顺序安置在散射板下方的一个透光板和一个反射板;和安置在透光板的一个边缘上,用来发射出光的一个灯,其中,透光板面对散射板的表面相对于散射板如此倾斜,要使装灯一侧的透光板靠近散射板,且随着透光板的表面远离该灯,该表面也远离散射板,而且透光板与散射板之间的空间充有有着预定折射率的散射材料。
图1是普通液晶显示器的正面剖视图。
图2是普通液晶显示器的后光发生装置的示意剖视图。
图3是本发明的液晶显示器后光发生装置的示意剖视图。
图4是本发明另一个实施例的剖视图。
图3示出了本发明的液晶显示器后光发生装置的第一实施例,该后光发生装置包括:隔着偏振滤光层1面对液晶显示器后板3的一个散射板10;其上表面面对散射板10,且按预定角度相对于散射板10倾斜的一个透光板30;安置在透光板30厚度较大的一个边缘上,供照射光用的一个灯L;在透光板30倾斜的上表面与散射板10之间的空间充有的散射材料20;还有一个反射板40,用以将灯L所照射的光当中从透光板30的倾斜面反射的光再反射到散射板10上。这里,透光板30的倾斜面印有花纹,以便吸收灯L来的直接入射光,且该倾斜面随着自身往前远离装灯的位置,偏离散射板10倾斜。此外,还采用折射率大于透光板30的气体、液体和固体作为散射材料20。
图4示出了本发明的另一个实施例,其中,反射板40安置得使其倾斜的方向与透光板30上表面倾斜的方向相反,增大了通过透光板30入射的光的反射角。按照上述结构安装反射板40,亮度比第一实施例的有所提高。在上述结构的液晶显示器后光发生装置中,从灯L入射来的光通过透光板30,然后在倾斜面上无规则地反射,从而使该光有一部分折射到散射材料20上,另一部分反射到反射板40上,然后往上反射再到倾斜面上,进入散射板10中。光在进入散射板10的过程中,它在散射材料20中散射,然后入射到散射板10中,又再次被散射,从而均匀分布地照射到液晶显示器上。这时,光在散射材料20中的折射角小于入射角,因而大量的光进入散射板10中。此外,当采用折射率大的散射材料20时,折射角几乎等于零,于是在散射材料20中折射的光几乎垂直射入散射板10中,从而提高了亮度。
如上所述,液晶显示器后光发生装置中的光经过散射材料20和散射板10两次散射,因而得出亮度均匀的图象。此外,由于光的第一次散射是在散射材料20中进行的,因而有可能采用光透射率比一般散射板高的散射板,从而提高了发光效率。如上所述,既然有可能采用高光透射率的散射板10,因而亮度提高了,从而在功率比普通显示器较低的情况下,可以得出亮度合乎要求的图象。
如上所述,在本发明的液晶显示器后光发生装置中,由于光经过了两次散射(即由散射材料和散射板散射),因而有可能采用高光透射率的散射板。因此,与普通采用低光透射率散射板的后光发生装置相比,本发明的后光发生装置发光效率高,从而可以得出亮度高的图象,而且降低了功耗。
Claims (4)
1.液晶显示器的一种后光发生装置,包括:面对液晶显示器后板底部的一个散射板;顺序安置在所述散射板下方的一个透光板和一个反射板;和安置在透光板的一个边缘上,供照光之用的一个灯;其特征在于,面对所述散射板(10)的所述透光板(30)的表面相对于所述散射板如此倾斜,要使得在安装灯L的一侧的透光板靠近所述散射板(10),且随着所述透光板(30)的表面远离所述灯L,所述表面也远离所述散射板(10),而且所述透光板(30)与所述散射板(10)之间的空间充有有着预定折射率的散射材料(20)。
2.如权利要求1中所述的液晶显示器后光发生装置,其特征在于,所述反射板(40)装配得使其倾斜方向与所述透光板30倾斜面的倾斜方向相反。
3.如权利要求2中所述的液晶显示器后光发生装置,其特征在于,所述散射材料(20)的折射率大于所述透光板(30)的折射率。
4.如权利要求1中所述的液晶显示器后光发生装置,其特征在于,所述散射材料(20)的折射率大于所述透光板(30)的折射率。
