Abstract

本发明涉及一种用于使用包含至少一种催化活性金属的催化剂直接合成过氧化氢的方法。
过氧化氢是一种非常重要的商业产品,被广泛用作纺织工业或造纸工业中的漂白剂,化学工业中以及过氧化物化合物生产反应(过硼酸钠、过碳酸钠、金属过氧化物类或过羧酸类)、氧化反应(氧化胺制造)、环氧化反应和羟基化反应(增塑剂和稳定剂制造)中的消毒剂和基本产品。商业上,最常见的生产过氧化氢的方法是自氧化(AO)方法。在这种方法中,通过有机溶剂中的烷基化的蒽醌的交替氧化和还原,氢与氧反应形成过氧化氢。这种方法的一个显著的缺点是它是昂贵的并且产生显著量的必须从该方法中去除的副产物。
一种非常有吸引力的自氧化(AO)方法的替代方案(因为它可以被称为一种“绿色的”方法)是直接通过使氢和氧在负载于作为一种催化剂载体的不同氧化物(如二氧化硅)上的金属催化剂的存在下反应来生产过氧化氢。
然而,在这些方法中,当一种基于作为载体的二氧化硅的催化剂用于直接合成过氧化氢时,反应产物(即,过氧化氢)不是有效生产的,因为在某一段时间之后作为一种副产物的水的产量是非常高的并且甚至高于过氧化氢的产量。
硫酸钡作为载体用于直接合成过氧化氢的用途到目前为止没有被广泛研究。
苏威公司(Solvay)在1993年公开的专利US 5447706描述了一种基于纯钯或基于钯与至少一种其他贵金属的组合的催化剂用于直接合成过氧化氢的用途。将所述金属浸渍在一种载体上,该载体包含至少一种选自由碱土金属的硫酸盐和磷酸盐组成的组的化合物。该碱土金属选自由镁、钙、锶和钡组成的组。在一个具体的实施例中,硫酸钡是优选的。这种催化剂在过氧化氢合成中示出了非常好的结果(在水中最高达4.8%Wt的过氧化氢)。但不幸地,研究示出了它们具有差的机械特征(精细颗粒,小于100微米并且在湿度的存在下是粘的)。
Ellis以及同事们(应用催化B(Applied Catalysis B),42(2003)203-211)总结了(在表1中)苏威公司专利US 5447706中描述的所有实例,而没有添加新的数据。
Hutchings以及同事们(绿色化学(Green Chemistry),2008,10,388-394)已经比较了用苏威公司专利(US 5447706)中描述的催化剂与其他催化剂(二氧化钛上的Pd、在二氧化钛或活性炭上的Pd/Au...)获得的结果。他们确认了苏威公司专利中描述的良好的结果并且推断出苏威公司专利中描述的条件很好地适应单金属负载的Pd催化剂。
尽管以上具有硫酸钡作为载体的催化剂在过氧化氢的直接合成(DS)中示出了良好的结果,但是研究已经证明了所述催化剂是易碎的并且具有非常高的磨损。另一个重要的缺点是使用大量的无机酸(例如像正磷酸)以保持pH在0与4之间。在苏威公司专利的实例中,所使用的典型H3PO4浓度是1.6M,这意味着扩大的成本以及可能的腐蚀问题。
在CN 1817838中,硫酸钡被描述为用于使用蒽醌的过氧化氢生产中的催化剂的载体。它没有被描述为用于过氧化氢的DS的催化剂。
本发明目的是提供另外的催化剂,特别是适合于过氧化氢的工业制备(优选地通过直接合成)的催化剂,这些催化剂不展示以上缺点,特别地这些催化剂示出了更好的机械耐受性并且允许减少高浓度的过氧化氢的DS所要求的无机酸的量。
为此,本发明涉及一种包含至少一种选自第7至11族中的元素的催化活性金属的催化剂,其中该催化活性金属负载于一种包含至少一种选自由碱土金属的硫酸盐和磷酸盐组成的组的化合物的载体上,并且其中使所述化合物沉淀在该载体上。更具体地说,本发明涉及一种用于直接合成过氧化氢的方法,该方法使用此类催化剂。
可以在本发明的催化剂中使用的催化活性金属可以由本领域的技术人员根据该催化剂的预期用途选择。在本发明的一个优选的实施例中,该催化剂包含至少一种选自由钌、铑、钯、锇、铱、铂、或这些金属的任何组合组成的铂组的金属。在一个更优选的实施例中,该催化剂包含钯或钯与另一种金属(例如,铂或金)的组合。
负载于该载体上的催化活性金属的量可以在一个宽的范围内变化,但是优选地占从0.001wt.%至10wt.%,更优选从0.1wt.%至5wt.%并且最优选从0.4wt.%至3wt.%,各自基于该载体的总重量。
在根据本发明的催化剂中,该催化活性金属优选地至少部分地以还原的形式存在。在本发明的那个实施例的上下文中,一种呈还原形式的金属是指具有0或更低的氧化水平的金属原子,如Pd0或Pd氢化物。
任何适合的载体材料可以作为载体用于根据本发明的催化剂中。例如,该载体材料可以是一种无机或有机材料。作为无机材料,可以使用无机氧化物。例如,该无机氧化物可以选自第2至14族中的元素,如SiO2、Al2O3、沸石、B2O3、GeO2、Ga2O3、ZrO2、TiO2、MgO、以及其混合物。优选的无机氧化物是SiO2。
在一个实施例中,在本发明中使用的载体材料具有例如通过BET方法计算的大于20m2/g、优选大于100m2/g的大的比表面积。该载体材料的孔体积可以例如是在0.1至3ml/g的范围内。典型地,对于浆料催化剂,该载体的平均粒径范围是从50μm至几个mm、优选从60μm至210μm。在固定床催化剂的情况下,该粒径的范围优选是从500μm至5mm。
所使用的载体材料可能基本上是无定形的(像硅胶)或可能由一种有序中孔结构(如MCM-41、MCM-48、SBA-15)或一种晶体结构(像沸石)组成。
可替代地,该载体材料可以是一种有机材料,如一种有机树脂或活性炭。作为有机树脂,可以例示任何已知的离子交换树脂。适合的树脂可以例如是聚苯乙烯树脂。作为活性炭,可以使用碳纳米管、石墨或炭黑。
根据本发明,使至少一种选自碱土金属的硫酸盐或磷酸盐、或其混合物的化合物沉淀在该载体上。硫酸盐或磷酸盐旨在表示一种碱土金属盐,其包含中性硫酸根(SO4 2-)、单硫酸氢根或酸性硫酸根(HSO4 -)、中性正磷酸根(PO4 3-)、单正磷酸氢根(HPO4 2-)或正磷酸二氢根(H2PO4 -)基团。所有的碱土金属都是适合的,只要它们的硫酸盐和/或磷酸盐在水溶液或醇(乙醇,甲醇)溶液中并且优选在酸性溶液中是不可溶的。有利的是该碱土金属选自镁、钙、锶和钡。钡的中性硫酸盐(BaSO4)是特别优选的,因为其在以上提及的溶液中的低溶解度。总体上,硫酸钡在该载体颗粒上形成了一个不均匀的涂层(像污点或片),其典型地达到了10至20μm的厚度。
为了同时具有良好的选择性和生产率,根据以上优选的实施例的催化剂的钡含量(通过ICP-OES(电感耦合等离子体发射光谱法)测量的)优选地高于3%wt,更优选地高于5%wt(相对于该催化剂的总重量)。
本发明还涉及如以上描述的催化剂,其中该催化活性金属是钯或钯与另一种金属的组合,该无机氧化物是SiO2并且该碱土金属化合物是硫酸钡。本发明还涉及此类催化剂用于过氧化氢的直接合成的用途。
本发明此外涉及一种用于制备以上描述的催化剂的方法。
在这种方法的一个第一实施例中,在第一步骤中,使碱土金属的至少一种硫酸盐或磷酸盐沉淀在该载体上(如以上定义的以及在相同的优选的实施例的情况下),并且在第二步骤中,沉积了一种选自第7至11族中的元素的催化活性金属。
优选地,分别在本发明方法的第一和第二步骤中使用该碱土金属(优选钡)和该催化活性金属(优选钯)的卤化物(优选氯化物)的溶液,并且优选地作为水溶液使用。优选地,将磷酸或硫酸与该碱土金属卤化物组合使用以便沉淀该硫酸盐或磷酸盐。例如,硫酸钡优选地通过组合钡离子与硫酸根离子(盐或酸)的溶液产生。实际上,将一种钡盐溶液与硫酸混合给出了良好的结果。优选地,该钡盐是一种卤化物。氯化钡给出了好良的结果并且是容易商购的。
可以使用任何已知的用于负载型金属催化剂的制备技术,例如浸渍、吸附、离子交换等,来进行该催化活性金属在该载体上的沉积。对于浸渍,有可能使用在所使用的溶剂中是可溶的该有待浸渍的金属的任何种类的无机或有机盐。适合的盐是例如,卤化物如氯化物、乙酸盐、硝酸盐、草酸盐等。例如,该金属可以通过在一种金属卤化物的溶液中浸渍该载体紧接着还原来沉积。总体上,本发明的催化剂不要求煅烧是有效的,这从能量的观点来看是有利的。
在本发明的一个优选实施例中,使二氧化硅首先与硫酸和一种氯化钡的溶液接触,并且然后与一种氯化钯的溶液接触。
在该金属已经沉积在该载体材料上之后,回收该产物,例如通过过滤、洗涤和干燥。随后,优选地(至少部分地)还原沉积在该载体上的金属,例如通过在高温下使用氢。这个氢化步骤可以例如在从100℃至300℃、优选从120℃至200℃的温度下进行1至10小时、优选2至6小时。
在一个第二实施例中,根据本发明的催化剂可以通过一种溶胶凝胶法、通过该载体的一种前体(例如TEOS或原硅酸四乙酯,其是SiO2的一种前体)与该碱土金属(优选钡)的一种卤化物(优选氯化物),优选地在酸性pH下的共沉淀来合成。
根据本发明的催化剂适合于催化不同的反应,包括例如氢化或环化反应。优选地该催化剂用于催化过氧化氢的合成,或者通过AO路线或者通过DS,特别是用于催化过氧化氢的DS。
因此,在另一个方面中,本发明还针对根据本发明的催化剂在过氧化氢的生产中的用途。在本发明的方法中,在一个反应器中使氢和氧(如纯化的氧或空气)在液体溶剂的存在下于催化剂上连续反应以生成一种过氧化氢液体溶液。该催化剂用于在一个三相系统中直接合成过氧化氢:将该催化剂(固体)放置在一种溶剂(水或醇像甲醇)中,并且在该悬浮液中在稳定添加剂(卤化物和/或无机酸:参见以下)的存在下鼓泡气体(H2、O2以及一种惰性气体)。
以上用于生产过氧化氢的DS方法可包括在一个反应器中使氢和氧在根据本发明的催化剂的存在下反应。本发明的方法能够以连续、半连续、或不连续的方式通过常规方法,例如在一个搅拌槽反应器(其中这些催化剂颗粒处于悬浮状态),篮型搅拌槽反应器、固定床反应器等中进行。一旦反应已经达到所希望的转化水平,可以通过不同的已知方法(如过滤)分离该催化剂,如果使用在悬浮液中的催化剂的话,这将提供其随后再利用的可能性。在该搅拌槽反应器的情况下,所使用的催化剂的量是获得0.01wt.%至10wt.%(相对于溶剂和催化剂的总重量)并且优选0.02wt.%至5wt.%的催化剂浓度必需的。根据本发明所获得的过氧化氢的浓度总体上是高于2wt.%、优选高于4wt.%、最优选高于7wt.%。
除了它们用于直接合成过氧化氢的反应的催化特性之外,本发明的催化剂还不幸地是所形成的过氧化物的过度氢化和分解的催化剂。因此,对于其中进行该合成的液相,有利的是包含一种能够选择性地毒害存在于该催化剂表面上的过氧化氢分解和过度氢化的位点的化合物。卤素离子是这些化合物的良好代表。它们的最佳浓度必须在本领域的技术人员的能力内通过实验室试验确定。这个浓度必须是足够的以便实现毒害该催化剂的大多数分解位点,并且同时,不太高以便尽可能避免卤素离子通过过氧化氢的氧化反应。氯离子、溴离子和碘离子适合于抑制该催化剂的分解位点。溴离子已经给出了最好的结果,尤其当以在0.05与3mmol/l液相之间、并且优选在0.1与2mmol/l之间的浓度存在时。
对于该液相,还有利的是此外包含一种酸,目的是抑制过氧化氢的自发的非催化分解。然而,当该酸浓度太高时,这些气体在该液相中的溶解度降低并且该酸能够与存在的过氧化氢反应。作为适合的酸,可以提及的是硫酸、硝酸和正磷酸。正磷酸是优选的。然而,本发明的催化剂允许以0.2M/l或更低、甚至0.1M/l或更低的量使用该无机酸,这能够降低成本和腐蚀问题同时仍然提供良好的合成结果。
该反应的温度通常在-5℃与50℃之间并且优选在0℃与20℃之间的值下选择。
所选择的压力大于大气压并且通常在1与150巴之间,并且优选在25与100巴之间。
现在将通过以下实例更详细地说明本发明,这些实例不旨在解释为限制性的。
实例
催化剂制备的实例:
在一个1L的烧杯中,已经引入了100cc软化水和250cc的1M的硫酸。已经添加了20g的二氧化硅。已经启动了机械搅拌器(250rpm)并且在80℃下加热该悬浮液。
在室温下制备1.41g氯化钡(BaCl2)在10ml软化水中的一种水溶液。
使用一个注射泵,将该BaCl2溶液引入至该80℃下的溶液中。
在室温下在24小时期间不搅拌地静置该烧杯。
在真空下过滤该悬浮液并且使用软化水洗涤该固体。
在100℃下将该固体干燥一夜。
用获得该催化剂上的0.62%Wt Pd的负载量必需的Pd的量制备氯化钯在水中的溶液。将该催化剂在95℃下干燥24小时。在用氮气稀释的氢的影响下在5小时内在150℃下还原该Pd。
这种催化剂称为催化剂A。
催化剂制备的实例:
对于另一批次,已经使用了如以上描述的相同的配方,但是具有2%的Pd负载量。这种催化剂称为催化剂B。
催化剂制备的实例:
在一个250cc的烧瓶中,引入40.44g的二氧化硅并且将其放置在一个旋转式干燥机上。将其在75℃下加热并且为了获得230毫巴的真空启动泵。
在室温下制备2.78g氯化钡(BaCl2)在65ml软化水中的一种水溶液。
在该旋转式干燥机中、在真空下逐滴引入该溶液。直接蒸发水并且在该二氧化硅上沉淀钡的盐。
在75℃和110毫巴下将250cc的0.12M的硫酸直接逐滴缓慢地引入该烧瓶中。直接蒸发水和HCl并且在该表面上形成了硫酸钡。
在一夜内在95℃下干燥该载体,研磨并且在5h内在600℃下煅烧该载体。
用获得该催化剂上的2%Wt Pd的负载量必需的Pd的量制备氯化钯在水中的溶液。将该催化剂在95℃下干燥24小时。在用氮气稀释的氢的影响下在5小时内在150℃下还原该Pd。
这种催化剂称为催化剂C。

催化剂制备的对比实例:
通过初湿浸渍法已经制备了一种基于硫酸钡的催化剂:已经将1g的氯化钯溶液(以Pd计19.9%Wt)稀释在19g软化水中。已经将该溶液置于与20g的BaSO4接触。已经在95℃下将催化剂干燥过夜。
在一种氢气/氮气混合物的影响下在150℃下在5小时内还原钯。
这种催化剂称为催化剂D。
这种催化剂的Pd含量是1.20%Wt。BET比表面积是9.7m2/g并且粒度测量值是高于110μm。
通过初湿浸渍法已经制备了一种基于二氧化硅的催化剂:已经将1g的氯化钯溶液(以Pd计19.9%Wt)稀释在19g软化水中。已经将该溶液置于与20g的二氧化硅接触。在75℃下将催化剂干燥过夜。
在一种氢气/氮气混合物的影响下在125℃下在8小时内还原钯。
已经通过ICP-OES确定了Pd含量并且达到0.91%Wt。
这种催化剂称为催化剂E。
催化剂E具有通过BET确定的316m2/g的比表面积并且是无定形的(DX)。通过SEM确定的颗粒的直径是约200微米。
催化剂制备的实例:
已经根据对于催化剂A描述的配方制备了若干种催化剂。在每种情况下加入的Pd负载量是2%Wt。它们称为催化剂F、G、H和I。
催化剂D至I的表征
过氧化氢的直接合成
在一个HC276 380cc的反应器中,引入甲醇(220g)、溴化氢(58ppm)、正磷酸(H3PO4)和催化剂(1.80g)。计算正磷酸的量以获得0.1M的最终的浓度。
将该反应器冷却至5℃并且该工作压力是在50巴(通过引入氮气获得)下。
该反应的所有时间使用以下气体的混合物冲洗该反应器:氢气/氧气/氮气。总流量是3975mlN/min。
当气相输出是稳定的(在线GC)时,以1200rpm启动机械搅拌器。
在线GC每10分钟分析该气相输出一次。
取出液体样品以测量过氧化氢和水的浓度。
使用硫酸铈通过氧化还原滴定测量过氧化氢。
通过Karl-Fisher滴定测量水。
磨损测试
使用了以下通常的实验室设备:
筛分振动机,例如:Rotap-英国德比国际燃烧有限公司(Rotap-InternationalCombustion Ltd,Derby,UK)。
测试筛:200mm直径,孔尺寸106μm和63μm,符合ISO 565。
能够称量至±0.1g的天平。
磨损器械:一个在底部配备有P4过滤器的玻璃管。气体通过该过滤器并且使固体悬浮。
具有相关联的垫片和凸缘的25mm直径的玻璃管
索式套管(Soxhlet thimble),25mm直径
不锈钢孔板,具有一个0.4mm的在中心钻的孔(将该板钻孔以匹配凸缘)
流量计,以升/分钟标刻度的。
使用以下配方:
将约30g载体放置在106μm筛上。将这些筛放置在该振动装置上并且筛分10分钟。称量保留在该106μm筛上的25.0g催化剂。
将25.0g催化剂转移至该磨损器械中。将该集尘器(索式套管)放置在该玻璃管的顶部并且设置定时器按钮为ON以允许空气进入该磨损管30分钟。
当停止该器械时,设置该定时器按钮为OFF。
将该磨损管和集尘器的内容物定量地转移至该组筛中10分钟。称量每一个筛和该基底盘(base pan)的内容物。假设具有小于63μm的尺寸的样品的重量是W1。假设所有筛的总重量是WP。

这些结果示出了当从0.62%wt转换至2%wt Pd负载量时,获得了更好的选择性但是更低的生产率。

如可以看出,就选择性和生产率而言催化剂D给出了更好的结果但是它要求高H3PO4含量(1.6M),伴随相关的腐蚀问题;并且它给出了差的磨损结果(参见以下)。
对比实例3:基于单独的BaSO4的催化剂D并且与0.1M H3PO4一起使用
这个对比实例示出了当降低了H3PO4含量时使用催化剂D获得的的确差的结果。

催化剂F至I
催化剂H的SEM分析示出了在SiO2颗粒上的更好的钡再分配。
事实上,低于3%wt的Ba负载量给出了相当高的实验误差:参见所附的图1,其图示地表示了实例3和6至9的最终的H2O2浓度随Ba负载量的变化的演变。
这是为什么在本发明的一个优选的实施例中,催化剂的钡含量(通过ICP-OES测量)是高于3%wt、更优选地高于5%wt。

对于催化剂D给出的磨损值是一个近似值,因为产物是粘性的并且难以处理。

Claims (7)
1.一种用于直接合成过氧化氢的方法,所述方法使用包含至少一种选自第7至11族中的元素的催化活性金属的催化剂,其中该催化活性金属负载于SiO2载体上,所述载体包含沉淀于其上的硫酸钡,其中所述催化剂的钡含量通过ICP-OES测定,高于3%wt。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中该催化活性金属选自钯、铂、银、金、铑、铱、钌、锇、以及其组合。
3.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中该催化活性金属是钯或钯与另一种金属的组合。
4.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的方法,其中该催化活性金属至少部分地以还原的形式存在。
5.根据权利要求1-3中任一项所述的方法,其中通过ICP-OES测量的该催化剂的钡含量是高于5%wt。
6.根据权利要求1-3中任一项所述的方法,其中在含有卤素离子的液相中进行该合成。
7.根据权利要求6所述的方法,其中该液相另外包含选自硫酸、硝酸和正磷酸的酸。
