技术领域
本发明涉及一种能够实现容易的窄边框(bezel)设计并容易散发(radiate)从光源产生的热的背光组件,和使用所述背光组件的液晶显示装置。
背景技术
近年来,在各种显示装置中,液晶显示装置最主要因为卓越的图像质量、重量轻、外形纤薄和低功耗的特性而被使用。这种液晶显示装置需要朝向液晶面板发光的背光组件。
根据光源的位置,背光组件可被分类为垂直型和边缘型。垂直型背光组件配置为使光源位于液晶面板的背面,而边缘型背光组件配置为使光源位于液晶面板的侧面。
同时,由于最近朝向更大尺寸和更高分辨率的发展趋势,人们正积极研究减少液晶显示装置的体积和重量。据此,存在着窄边框设计的需要。
然而,传统的边缘型背光组件由于用来将从光源产生的热散发到外部的散热垫和LED外壳而存在问题。散热垫和LED外壳不仅会增加边框区域的厚度,还会增加散热路径,引起散热效率的劣化。
发明内容
据此,本发明涉及一种基本上消除由于现有技术的限制和缺陷而导致的一个或多个问题的背光组件和使用所述背光组件的液晶显示装置。
本发明的目的是提供一种能够实现容易的窄边框设计并容易散发从光源产生的热的背光组件,和使用所述背光组件的液晶显示装置。

底盖10和顶盖30组成了液晶显示装置的壳体,其中容纳有背光组件的其他部件和液晶面板40。在这种情况下,液晶面板40由两个玻璃基板(即上基板40a和下基板40b)组成,液晶层(未示出)介于上基板40a与下基板40b之间。
导光板50用于引导来自多个LED封装90的入射光,以将线性光转换为平面光。导光板50可由具有卓越的全反射系数的聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PolyMethylMethAcrylate,PMMA)形成。
多个光学片70负责散射和会聚来自导光板50的入射光。多个光学片70可包括用于增强发光效率的至少一个会聚光的聚光片和至少一个散射片。
面板导引体20配置为支撑液晶面板40。为此,面板导引体20包括主体部分和台阶部分,所述主体部分放置在底盖10上,所述台阶部分支撑液晶面板40。
多个LED封装90安装在印刷电路板80的侧部。印刷电路板80还用于将从多个LED封装90产生的热散发到外部。因为印刷电路板80的底部由单金属层82形成,所以印刷电路板80可呈现卓越的热散发。尽管印刷电路板80是基于传统的金属芯印刷电路板(MCPCB)来构造的,但仍有不同在于,底部是由单金属层82形成的。以下将描述MCPCB,以供参考。
图2A和图2B是将传统的印刷电路板与根据本发明的印刷电路板比较的视图。图2A是示出传统MCPCB的截面图,并且图2B是示出本发明的印刷电路板的截面图。
参照图2A,传统MCPCB是使用敷铜箔层压板(以下称为MCCL)作为原材料而制造的。更具体地,MCCP包括基层82、导热树脂层86和铜层88,所述基层82由铝、铜或铜合金形成,所述导热树脂层86形成在基层82上,所述铜层88形成在导热树脂层86上。在这种情况下,导热树脂层86和铜层88呈所谓的RCC膜形式并且被层压在基层上。当使用MCCL制造L形MCPCB时,基层形成金属层82,导热树脂层和铜层形成上述RCC膜84。然而,在使用MCCL制造L形MCPCB的情况下,RCC膜84形成在安装有LED封装90的印刷电路板80的侧部和底部上,这可能会劣化印刷电路板80的导热性。也就是说,由于组成RCC膜84的导热树脂层86具有比金属层82低得多的导热性,所以即使将RCC膜84层叠在印刷电路板80的底部上也可能防止从LED封装90产生的热的散发。在这种情况下,MCPCB被配置为L形形状的原因是为省略LED外壳和散热垫,并且还可实现增强的热散发和容易的窄边框设计。
为了解决上述问题,如图2B所示,根据第一实施方式,印刷电路板80呈L形形状,并且RCC膜84只层压到印刷电路板80的侧部,以增强热散发。同时,除了增强热散发,由于省略了印刷电路板80底部上的RCC膜84,第一实施方式还可实现降低成本。实际上,RCC膜84是增加MCPCB的制造成本的因素。在L形MCPCB中,底部的面积大于侧部的面积。因此,根据第一实施方式,RCC膜84的成本可降低底部的面积那么多,这会导致可观的成本降低。
如上所述,在第一实施方式中,L形印刷电路板80可替代LED外壳和散热垫,这会导致增强的热散发和容易的窄边框设计。此外,将RCC膜84只附接到印刷电路板80的侧部可进一步增强热散发。
第二实施方式
图3是示出根据本发明第二实施方式的背光组件的截面图。
与第一实施方式不同,第二实施方式具有这样的特征:背光组件进一步包括虚外壳100。因此,第二实施方式除了虚外壳100以外的其他结构的描述将被以上第一实施方式的描述代替。
在第一实施方式中,尽管容易的窄边框设计可由省略传统背光组件中的LED外壳而得以实现,但是LED外壳的省略可能导致在印刷电路板80与底盖10之间的螺丝紧固结构处的紧固力变劣。为解决此问题,第二实施方式进一步采用了虚外壳100。虚外壳100用于缓解由于根据第一实施方式的背光组件的底部厚度减少而造成的紧固力的降低。
更具体地说,虚外壳100配置为覆盖印刷电路板80的底部和底盖10。虚外壳100经由螺丝110固定到印刷电路板80。螺丝110穿透虚外壳100、印刷电路板80的底部和底盖10。
如上所述,根据第二实施方式,印刷电路板80实现增强的紧固强度,这可提高背光组件产品的可靠性。
同时,除了提供增强的紧固强度之外,虚外壳100还可用来支撑导光板50并提高热散发。也就是说,如图4所示,虚外壳100可包括至少一个突出部以支撑导光板50。在这种情况下,突出部可在背面设有凹进,然而不限制凹进的数量和形状。此外,虚外壳100可由铝、电解镀锌铁(EGI)或强化塑料形成。如果虚外壳100由高热传导率的铝形成,则可期望进一步地提高热散发。
第三实施方式
图5是示出根据本发明第三实施方式的背光组件的截面图。
与第一实施方式不同的是,使用LED外壳120以替代单金属层82。第三实施方式具有这样的特征:RCC膜84和多个LED封装90附接到LED外壳120的内侧面。也就是说,在第三实施方式中,RCC膜84直接层压到LED外壳120的内侧面,而不需要介于RCC膜84和LED外壳120之间的散热垫或金属层,并且多个LED封装90被安装到RCC膜84上。具有上述结构的第三实施方式可由于缩短的热散发路径而实现增强的热散发,并且由于散热垫的省略可实现提高的组装效率和较少的缺陷产品产生。
第四实施方式
图6是示出根据本发明第四实施方式的背光组件的截面图。
第四实施方式具有这样的特征:LED外壳120具有与第三实施方式不同的U形形状。
更具体地,LED外壳120包括第一面、第二面和第三面,所述第一面附接到底盖10的底面,所述第二面从所述第一面弯折,并且RCC膜84附接到所述第二面,所述第三面从所述第二面朝液晶面板40延伸。
作为参考,导光板50的光引入部分呈现不均匀的亮度,并因此出现热点(hot spot)。在第四实施方式中,LED外壳120的第三面设在导光板50的邻近LED封装90的上部区域上,这可让导光板50的光引入部分具有均匀亮度。在第四实施方式中,诸如反射片之类的反射器可附接到LED外壳120的第三面的背部,或者LED外壳120的第三面可经受适当的表面处理,以防止从导光板50的上表面发出的光被面板导引体20吸收。
第五实施方式
图7是示出根据本发明第五实施方式的背光组件的截面图。
与第一实施方式不同,第五实施方式具有这样的的特征:RCC膜84和多个LED封装90附接到底盖10的内侧面。也就是说,在第五实施方式中,不存在LED外壳、散热垫和金属层,并且RCC膜84直接层压到底盖10的内侧面,使得多个LED封装90安装到RCC膜84上。以这种方式,第五实施方式可最小化边框区域的厚度,并实现简化的结构,并且因此获得增强的组件性能。根据第五实施方式的背光组件优选应用到具有相对小尺寸的液晶显示装置上。
第六实施方式
图8是示出根据本发明第六实施方式的背光组件的截面图,并且图9是图8示出的背光组件的平面图。
尽管与第五实施方式相似,RCC膜84直接附接到底盖10上,但第六实施方式具有这样的特征:光源的位置是垂直型。
参照图8,根据第六实施方式的背光组件包括底盖10、RCC膜84、散射板130和多个光学片70,所述RCC膜84附接到底盖10上,使得多个LED封装90被安装到RCC膜84上,所述散射板130散射来自多个LED封装90的入射光,所述多个光学片70层叠在散射板130上。
同时,反射板(未示出)可进一步设在多个LED封装90与底盖10之间,以向上反射从位于底盖10之上的LED封装90引导出的光。
散射板130将来自LED封装90的入射光向液晶面板40前方引导,并且确保在宽范围的均匀光分布。散射板130可通过将光散射材料涂覆在透明树脂膜的两面而形成,或者可由混合有散射材料的不透明树脂形成。
多个光学片70用来垂直地引导从散射板130发出的光,实现发光效率。
如图9所示,RCC膜84具有形形状。也就是说,RCC膜84从底盖10的一侧向另一侧延伸,然后再从底盖10的另一侧向一侧延伸,从而形成形结构。
在第六实施方式中,由于垂直型光源和省略印刷电路板的缘故,从LED封装90产生的热直接通过无粘合带的底盖10传输,这导致提高的热散发。此外,RCC膜84的形布置使得能够使用用来驱动LED封装90的单一连接器,使得提高了组装效率和生产率。
从以上描述中可明显看出,根据本发明,通过将RCC膜和LED封装选择性地附接或形成到金属层、LED外壳或底盖上,可实现增强的热散发、容易的窄边框设计、降低的成本、以及提高的组装效率和生产率。
在不脱离这些发明精神和范围的情况下,对本发明作出各种修改和变型对本领域的技术人员来说是显而易见的。因此,本发明旨在涵盖落入所附权利要求书及其等同物的范围内的对本发明的各种修改和变型。
Claims (7)
1.一种背光组件,所述背光组件包括:
底盖;
导光板,所述导光板放置在所述底盖之上;
印刷电路板,所述印刷电路板具有L形形状并且附接到所述底盖的底面和内侧面;
多个发光二极管封装,所述多个发光二极管封装被安装到所述印刷电路板,
虚外壳,所述虚外壳配置为覆盖所述印刷电路板的底部和所述底盖的所述底面;和
螺丝,所述螺丝穿过所述虚外壳、所述印刷电路板的所述底部和所述底盖而紧固,
其中所述印刷电路板包括:单金属层和涂覆树脂的铜膜,所述单金属层具有L形形状并且附接到所述底盖的所述底面和所述内侧面,所述涂覆树脂的铜膜附接到所述单金属层的内侧面,
其中所述多个发光二极管封装被安装到所述涂覆树脂的铜膜。
2.根据权利要求1所述的背光组件,其中所述单金属层由铝、铜或铜合金形成。
3.根据权利要求1所述的背光组件,其中所述涂覆树脂的铜膜包括:
环氧基绝缘层;和
铜图案层,所述铜图案层形成在所述绝缘层上并且与所述多个发光二极管封装相连。
4.根据权利要求1所述的背光组件,其中所述涂覆树脂的铜膜包括:
聚酰亚胺基绝缘层;
铜图案层,所述铜图案层形成在所述绝缘层上并且与所述多个发光二极管封装相连;和
粘合层,所述粘合层形成在所述绝缘层之上和/或之下。
5.根据权利要求1所述的背光组件,其中所述虚外壳由铝、电解镀锌铁或强化塑料形成。
6.根据权利要求1所述的背光组件,其中所述虚外壳具有至少一个突出部以支撑所述导光板。
7.一种液晶显示装置,所述液晶显示装置包括:
根据权利要求1至6任一项所述的背光组件;
液晶面板;
面板导引体,所述面板导引体安装在所述底盖的边缘部分上以支撑所述液晶面板;和
顶盖,所述顶盖配置为围绕所述液晶面板的边框部分和所述面板导引体的侧部,并且所述顶盖被紧固到所述底盖上。
