背景技术
沥青是基本由烃及其衍生物组成的粘性液体或固体。它溶解于三氯乙烯中和当加热时逐渐软化。沥青用作多种应用中的粘合剂。沥青可以与骨料组合以提供可用于生产道路的柏油。或者沥青可以用于例如铺屋面、铺地板或密封的工业应用中。
近些年来,已经使用合成粘合剂。合成粘合剂例如Shell的Mexphalte具有与通常用于道路应用的沥青质粘合剂相似的流变学和机械性质。合成粘合剂通常是清澈的,所以它们容易变色和用于获得有色柏油混合物。在本说明书中,术语“粘合剂”同时涵盖具有相似流变学和机械性质的沥青质材料和合成材料。本说明书中的术语“柏油”用于描述粘合剂和骨料的混合物。

发明内容

具体实施方式
涂覆粘合剂单元包含用涂覆材料层涂覆的粘合剂核心。在本发明的一个实施方案中,所述单元是粒料,具有中心粘合剂核心和外部涂覆材料层。在第二实施方案中,所述单元是棒料,具有通过棒料部分或全部长度的中心粘合剂核心、以及外部涂覆材料层。在本发明的第三实施方案中,所述单元是片料,其中中心粘合剂层位于外部涂覆材料层之间。涂覆粘合剂单元的准确形状可以变化,但是希望涂覆粘合剂单元的形状和尺寸使得它们容易进行处理和输送。粒料具有通常与储存、流动和处理颗粒材料有关的优点。

涂覆材料优选聚合物,在25℃下的针入度小于5dmm的沥青,硫,这些材料与填料的共混物,这些材料与纤维材料的共混物,和两种或更多种这些材料的共混物。更优选涂覆材料是聚合物或包含至少50wt%聚合物的共混物。聚合物可以是可再生来源和/或可以是可生物降解的。在一个实施方案中,涂覆材料是聚烯烃例如聚乙烯或聚苯乙烯,或包含至少50wt%聚烯烃的共混物。优选涂覆材料是聚乙烯或包含至少50wt%聚乙烯的共混物。在另一个实施方案中,涂覆材料是热塑性弹性体或塑性体,或包含至少50wt%热塑性弹性体或塑性体的共混物。在将聚合物同时用作涂覆材料(以抑制单元的附聚)和粘合剂配方组分的这样的实施方案中,改进了由粘合剂制备的产物的性质。热塑性弹性体或塑性体可以是苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物,烯烃类共聚物例如乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯,聚氨酯或聚醚-聚酯共聚物。
涂覆材料可以含有提高由涂覆粘合剂单元制得的柏油性质的添加剂。
涂覆材料的熔点优选低于200℃以阻止从粘合剂中排出。
本发明涂覆粘合剂单元中的涂覆材料层优选基本连续,使得至少90%的粘合剂核心表面积用涂覆材料涂覆,更优选至少95%,最优选至少99%。
粘合剂与涂覆材料的重量比优选至少5∶1,更优选至少10∶1,最优选至少30∶1。如果涂覆材料是比粘合剂材料更昂贵的组分,则希望使涂覆材料的量最小化。如果涂覆材料是聚合物,则可以选择聚合物使得它对所得粘合剂产物有积极作用,和涂覆材料的量可以在改进性质和成本之间进行平衡。当涂覆材料是热塑性弹性体或塑性体时,粘合剂与涂覆材料的适合的重量比为约99∶1-9∶1。
涂覆材料层的平均厚度优选至少10μm。所述层需要足够厚,使得实现基本连续的涂覆。涂覆材料层的平均厚度优选小于3mm,更优选小于1mm和最优选小于0.2mm。如果希望使涂覆材料的量最小化,则比3mm厚的层不是优选的。
涂覆粘合剂单元可以包含另外的添加剂,例如软水剂,例如蜡或针入度指数增进剂,例如蜡,多磷酸和乙烯聚合物。然而,在优选实施方案中,涂覆粘合剂单元基本由粘合剂和涂覆材料组成。
在其中所述单元是粒料的实施方案中,粒料的尺寸优选使得粒料的平均最长尺寸优选小于200mm,更优选小于80mm,又更优选小于50mm和最优选小于15mm。因为本发明方法中利用挤出,所以粒料尺寸的可变性可能是较小的。
粒料优选基本圆柱形或扁平长方形,因为它们的输送相对容易(这些形状具有良好的堆积密度)。然而,粒料也可以是球形,扁球形或可以具有不规则形状。

在其中所述单元是片料的实施方案中,片料的尺寸优选使得平均最长尺寸大于15mm,更优选大于100mm。术语“片料”仅用于描述基本扁平的形状,其中两个尺寸(长度和宽度)明显大于厚度。片料的平均宽度优选10mm-1m。片料的平均厚度优选小于15mm。因为本发明方法中利用挤出,所以片料宽度和厚度的可变性可能是较小的。
所述方法包括共挤出粘合剂和涂覆材料的步骤,由此产生用涂覆材料层涂覆的粘合剂挤出物。挤出是其中通过所需形状的模具推和/或拉材料的过程。共挤出中,两种或更多种材料同时挤出。在本方法中,粘合剂和涂覆材料同时挤出使得粘合剂涂覆有涂覆材料层。优选地,粘合剂和涂覆材料同时挤出使得所得挤出物具有中心粘合剂核心和基本涂覆粘合剂的涂覆材料层,优选涂覆粘合剂至少90%的表面积,更优选涂覆粘合剂至少95%的表面积,最优选涂覆粘合剂所有表面积。然而,在替代实施方案中,所得挤出物的涂覆材料层仅覆盖粘合剂材料的一面和需要进一步成型,以生产包含用涂覆材料层涂覆的粘合剂核心的单元。挤出物上涂覆层的优选厚度与涂覆粘合剂单元上涂覆层的优选厚度相同。
为制备粒料或棒料,共挤出优选使用具有内部和外部模具的共挤出装置进行,所述内部和外部模具具有共中心排列的挤出孔。将粘合剂供应至内部模具和将涂覆材料供应至外部模具。
为制备片料,共挤出优选使用具有两个或三个模具的共挤出装置进行,所述两个或三个模具具有水平排列的挤出孔。如果存在两个模具,则挤出物将由粘合剂层上的涂覆材料层组成和需要进一步的成型,以生产包含用涂覆材料层涂覆的粘合剂核心的单元。如果存在三个模具,则将粘合剂供应至中间模具,挤出物将由粘合剂层和粘合剂层两面上的涂覆材料层组成。
可能粘合剂和涂覆材料将具有明显不同的熔化温度(当涂覆材料是聚合物时,聚合物的熔化温度可能明显高于粘合剂的熔化温度)。因此,在本发明的优选实施方案中,控制模具之间的传热。这可以通过在模具之间存在隔热间隙而实现。隔热间隙可以填充有隔热材料。然而,在优选实施方案中,冷却剂材料例如水在隔热间隙中流通。US3,640,659提供共挤出装置的实例,其中可以在共挤出过程期间在内部和外部模具之间维持温度剃度。
优选将粘合剂从垂直料斗加入共挤出装置。优选将料斗加热和保持在高于室温的温度下,使得粘合剂高于其软化点和可以流动。
优选将粘合剂向模具运送,使得它在接近其软化点的温度下到达模具。在模具之前,希望它的温度较高使得粘合剂足以是流体从而容易地流动,例如在比它的软化点高约50℃的温度,但是不超过高于它的软化点100℃,以避免损害产物。可以利用单螺杆或双螺杆挤出机、泵(例如齿轮泵)和适当的管道或在模具入口处产生压力的任何其它装置将粘合剂向模具运送。
如果粘合剂由组分例如包含填料或聚合物的粘合剂的共混物组成,则可以在将料斗连接至模具的挤出机或泵中完成共混。
粘合剂在接近其软化点值(优选在软化点之上小于100℃,更优选在软化点之上小于50℃)的温度下离开模具,使得它仍然能够流动,且同时存在用于挤出物的足够稠度以维持它本身的形状。在该热条件下,也避免了热粘合剂的溢出。
涂覆材料优选使用螺杆或柱塞挤出机向模具运送。根据涂覆材料的属性调整涂覆材料的温度和流量。
根据设备能力确定粘合剂和涂覆材料的流量使得材料的流动稳定且挤出物的形状规则。共挤出装置内的典型停留时间优选低于20分钟,更优选低于10分钟。
步骤(a)中的挤出可以是连续的(产生不确定长度的材料)或半连续的(产生许多短片)。在本发明的一个实施方案中,挤出的进行方式可以使得部分挤出物仅由涂覆材料组成,例如存在由用涂覆材料层涂覆的粘合剂核心组成的部分和存在仅由涂覆材料组成的部分。
挤出物优选具有中心粘合剂核心和基本涂覆粘合剂的涂覆材料层。在这种情况中,步骤(b)中可能希望使挤出物进一步成型但不是必须的,和步骤(a)中产生的挤出物可以是本发明的涂覆粘合剂单元。然而,当挤出物中涂覆材料层没有基本涂覆粘合剂时,需要在步骤(b)中进一步成型。
在本发明的一个实施方案中,步骤(b)中挤出物的成型由分割挤出物、优选分割成粒料或棒料或片料组成。挤出物的分割可以通过切割挤出物而实现。如果使用冷切割系统,边缘最可能保持未涂覆和将需要随后用另一试剂涂覆。因此优选热切割,因为它将局部再次熔化涂覆材料层和允许它密封边缘。用一定角度(相对于与挤出物垂直的方向)热切割是更加优选的,因为在切割运动期间产生的剪切将拉伸外部层和促进密封。其中部分挤出物仅由涂覆材料组成的实施方案中,切割通过仅由涂覆材料组成的部分将提供其中涂覆材料基本涂覆粘合剂所有表面的单元。
在本发明的另一个实施方案中,在步骤(b)中,挤出物的成型由使挤出物折叠组成。如果挤出物由用涂覆材料层涂覆的粘合剂层组成,将材料对折可以提供其中在中心粘合剂核心的两面上和在一个边缘上涂覆有涂覆材料层的单元。
根据本发明方法生产的涂覆粘合剂单元适合地与骨料组合以提供柏油。柏油可以用于在常规铺路过程中形成柏油路面,或者可以用于连接过程,例如形成铺石头或鹅卵石之间的间隙间的接合处。
图1显示了可以用于本发明方法的挤出装置。将粘合剂提供至内部模具(1),和将涂覆材料、优选聚合物例如聚乙烯提供至外部模具(2)。在内部模具(1)和外部模具(2)之间存在隔热间隙(3)。隔热间隙(3)优选含有水冷却系统,该水冷却系统帮助维持内部模具(1)和外部模具(2)之间的温度剃度。粘合剂通过内部模具(1)和涂覆材料(2)通过外部模具(2),提供具有中心粘合剂核心和外部涂覆材料涂层的线性挤出物。
图2显示了可以在本发明方法中用于将粘合剂提供至挤出装置的进料系统。将粘合剂加入具有盖子的料斗(10)。料斗可以加热和维持在高于室温的温度下,使得粘合剂可以流动。底部盖子(11)可以水平移位以开始和停止粘合剂从料斗(10)流动至进料系统的下半部(12)。发动机(13)为在加热桶(15)内旋转的计量螺杆(14)提供动力。
实施例
现在将参考实施例描述本发明,所述实施例不用于限定本发明。
实施例1
用低密度聚乙烯涂覆50/70针入度等级沥青。将沥青和聚乙烯加入共挤出模具;将沥青加入内部模具和将聚乙烯加入外部模具。沥青在约50℃的温度下离开模具,聚乙烯在160-180℃的温度下进行处理。所得挤出物是沥青棒料,直径为约10mm,用厚度低于100μm的聚乙烯层涂覆。
实施例2
用高密度聚乙烯涂覆50/70针入度等级沥青。将沥青和聚乙烯加入共挤出模具;将沥青加入内部模具和将聚乙烯加入外部模具。沥青在约50℃的温度下离开模具,聚乙烯在180-200℃的温度下进行处理。所得挤出物是沥青棒料,直径为约10mm,用厚度低于100μm的聚乙烯层涂覆。

Claims (7)

1.一种制备涂覆粘合剂单元的方法,其中所述涂覆粘合剂单元包含用涂覆材料层涂覆的粘合剂核心,其中所述粘合剂是沥青质粘合剂或具有与沥青质粘合剂相似流变学和机械性质的包含树脂、油和任选的聚合物的合成粘合剂,其中粘合剂的软化点根据EN1427测量为30-140℃,其中涂覆材料是聚烯烃或包含至少50wt%聚烯烃的共混物,或者涂覆材料是热塑性弹性体或塑性体,或包含至少50wt%热塑性弹性体或塑性体的共混物,所述方法包括以下步骤:
(a)共挤出粘合剂和涂覆材料,从而产生其中用涂覆材料层涂覆粘合剂的挤出物;和
(b)使挤出物成型为涂覆粘合剂单元。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中所述涂覆材料选自聚合物、在25℃下的针入度小于5dmm的沥青、硫、这些材料与填料的共混物、这些材料与纤维材料的共混物、和两种或更多种这些材料的共混物。
3.权利要求1或2的方法,其中所述单元是粒料,和粒料的平均最长尺寸小于100mm。
4.权利要求1或2的方法,其中所述单元是棒料,棒料的平均最长尺寸大于100mm,和棒料的平均直径优选小于50mm。
5.权利要求1或2的方法,其中所述单元是片料,平均最长尺寸大于100mm,片料的平均宽度为10mm-1m,和片料的平均厚度小于15mm。
6.权利要求1或2的方法,其中共挤出利用具有内部和外部模具的共挤出装置进行,所述内部和外部模具具有共中心排列的挤出孔,所述方法包括将粘合剂供应至内部模具和将涂覆材料供应至外部模具的步骤。
7.权利要求6的方法,其中在内部和外部模具之间存在隔热间隙,和冷却剂材料在隔热间隙中流通。
