背景技术
基于薄片状基材例如云母薄片的颜料的流动性经常不能令人满意。在许多应用中,尤其是在印刷和涂料领域,这不会带来任何较大问题。但是,在混合入塑料的情形中,发现该颜料较差的流动性是有问题的。
此外,加工珠光颜料,例如生产母料时,会导致粉尘明显增多,这需要更高的设备成本来消除粉尘和清洁机器。
本领域公知可以用有机化合物来涂布颜料,以便于将颜料混入例如塑料、粉末涂漆、调色剂等。该方法可以从例如DE2603211,WO2005/052076,WO2005/019327,US2002/0098495A1和DE4317019中知晓。
例如,US6451102中提出一种将珠光颜料埋入蜡中的方法,以增加流动性以及特别是薄片状效果颜料的堆积密度。
但是,已经发现,现有技术中已知的包括(>50%)效果颜料和有机聚合物或蜡的颜料制剂经常不是氧化稳定的,并容易发生危险的自加热,尽管该制剂没有归类为易燃性固体(根据1992.12.29颁布的欧盟第L383A/76号公报的测试规程A.10.固体物质的可燃性)。

已经令人惊讶地发现,当加入抗氧剂时,包括效果颜料和蜡的颜料制剂对于危险的自加热是稳定的。
本发明的主题是一种颜料制剂,其特征在于,其包括一种或多种薄片状效果颜料,蜡或蜡混合物和至少一种抗氧剂。在此,效果颜料优选是在表面上与蜡或蜡混合物和至少一种抗氧剂粘合的或者以它们部分或完全地涂布于表面上。
该颜料制剂显示出明显降低了的自燃的倾向,并且由于其良好的流动性和高堆积密度,而尤其适合用于对塑料着色和制备母料。
本发明进一步的主题在于一种制备本发明颜料制剂的方法,其中将一种或多种薄片状效果颜料和至少一种抗氧剂在热作用下与蜡或蜡混合物混合。
已经证实,本发明的颜料制剂特别有利于混入塑料中。此外,本发明的颜料制剂是无粉尘的且具有非常良好的流淌能力,这就降低了其加工中的设备成本。此外,当本发明的颜料制剂用于双螺杆挤出机时,生产量,分别根据条件,能相比于未经配制的颜料至少增加2-5倍。此外,在单螺杆挤出机中使用本发明的颜料制剂,能制备出效果颜料的比例基于母料计最高达50重量%的母料。
本发明颜料制剂的基本成分除了抗氧剂之外,是蜡或蜡混合物。
在本申请中,蜡的定义如下:在20℃下,可捏合的,固体至脆性坚固的,粗大至微晶的,透明至不透明的,但不是玻璃状的;高于40℃时,熔融而不分解,甚至略高于熔点时是粘度较低的和非粘丝的,很强的与温度相关的稠度和溶解度,在轻微压力下是可抛光的。蜡不同于类似的合成或天然产品(例如树脂,塑性材料,金属皂等)主要在于,其通常在大约50-90℃之间,在甚至高达约200℃的特殊情形中,可转化成熔融液态的低粘度状态并基本上不含形成灰的化合物。蜡形成膏或凝胶,且通常以有烟的火焰燃烧。

特别优选的是聚烯烃蜡,和包含极性基团的聚烯烃蜡,其的形成是通过聚烯烃蜡的后续氧化,通过与包含羧酸基,羧酸酯基,羧酸酐基或羟基的单体接枝反应,或通过烯烃和包含羧酸基,羧酸酯基,羧酸酐基或羟基的单体共聚合。
本发明中的蜡还可以是具有蜡类特征的较高分子量的化合物,其优选通过缩聚、聚加成或加聚方法制得,例如热塑性聚酯-,环氧化物-,苯乙烯-丙烯酸酯-共聚物,苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物,环烯烃共聚物树脂。为了获得提高的温度下于有机溶剂中的足够溶解度,优选蜡的分子量为500-20000,尤其是1000-15000,以及最优选2000-10000。
蜡的熔融范围(根据DIN51007测定)优选为70-200℃,尤其是80-150℃,以及最优选90-130℃。
特别优选的蜡是与其中加入颜料的母料具有良好相容性的那些。为了加入到聚烯烃母料中,聚烯烃蜡是优选的,例如聚乙烯或聚丙烯蜡。
优选的蜡或蜡混合物的熔融范围为70-200℃,尤其是90-130℃。
特别优选的蜡是聚烯烃蜡,尤其是聚乙烯蜡。进一步优选的是褐煤酯腊及其衍生物和酰胺蜡。
本发明颜料制剂中蜡或蜡混合物的比例优选为5-50重量%,尤其是20-40重量%,最优选25-35重量%,基于制剂的总质量计。
根据本发明颜料制剂的使用领域,蜡的数量和类型可以改变,特别是为了确保与应用介质的相容性。当然,本发明颜料制剂还可以包含一种、两种、三种或更多种不同蜡的混合物,以满足特定的性能曲线。但是,本发明的颜料制剂优选仅包含一种蜡,尤其是聚烯烃蜡,最优选聚乙烯蜡。
在本发明的颜料制剂中,效果颜料、抗氧剂和蜡彼此混合地存在。效果颜料优选用蜡至少部分地或完全地涂布,即完全包裹。薄片状效果颜料被包含抗氧剂的蜡完全包裹和“粘合”是极其优选的。
所谓薄片状效果颜料优选指的是珠光颜料,干涉颜料,金属效果颜料,具有透明、半透明和/或不透明层的多层颜料,全息颜料,BiOCl颜料和/或LCP颜料。
可用于本发明的珠光颜料,干涉颜料,金属效果颜料或具有透明、半透明和/或不透明层的多层颜料是特别地基于载体的,其优选为薄片状。适合的实例为薄片状TiO2,合成云母(例如氟金云母)或天然云母,掺杂或未掺杂的玻璃薄片,金属薄片,薄片状SiO2,Al2O3或薄片状氧化铁。特别的,金属薄片可由铝,钛,青铜,钢或银构成,优选铝和/或钛。在此,金属薄片可以通过相应的处理而钝化。玻璃薄片可由本领域技术人员已知的所有玻璃类型构成,例如A-玻璃,E-玻璃,C-玻璃,ECR-玻璃,废旧玻璃,窗玻璃,硼硅酸盐玻璃,玻璃,实验仪器玻璃或光学玻璃。所述玻璃薄片的折射率优选为1.45-1.80,尤其是1.50-1.70。特别优选玻璃基材由C玻璃,ECR玻璃或硼硅酸盐玻璃构成。
在一个优选的实施方式中,所述载体可涂布一层或多层透明的、半透明的和/或不透明的层,包括金属氧化物,金属水合氧化物,金属低价氧化物,金属,金属氟化物,金属氮化物,金属氮氧化物或这些材料的混合物。所述金属氧化物,金属水合氧化物,金属低价氧化物,金属,金属氟化物,金属氮化物,金属氮氧化物层或其混合物可以是低折射率(折射率<1.8)或高折射率(折射率≥1.8)的。适合的金属氧化物和金属水合氧化物是本领域技术人员已知的所有金属氧化物或金属水合氧化物,例如氧化铝,水合氧化铝,氧化硅,水合氧化硅,氧化铁,氧化锡,氧化铈,氧化锌,氧化锆,氧化铬,氧化钛,尤其是二氧化钛、水合氧化钛及其混合物,例如钛铁矿或铁板钛矿。所用的金属低价氧化物可以是例如钛低价氧化物。适合的金属是例如铬,铝,镍,银,金,钛,铜或合金;金属氟化物的适合的例子是氟化镁。所用的金属氮化物或金属氮氧化物可以是例如金属钛,锆和/或钽的氮化物或氮氧化物。优选将金属氧化物,金属,金属氟化物和/或金属水合氧化物的层且最优选金属氧化物和/或金属水合氧化物层施加于载体上。此外,也可以存在由高和低折射率的金属氧化物、金属水合氧化物、金属或金属氟化物层组成的多层结构,在该情形中优选高和低折射率的层交替。尤其优选的是高折射率层和低折射率层的层组件(Schichtpakete),其中,可将一种或多种该层组件施加于载体上。在此,高和低折射率层的顺序可与载体匹配,以在多层结构中包括入载体。在进一步的实施方式中,金属氧化物、金属水合氧化物、金属低价氧化物、金属、金属氟化物,金属氮化物、金属氮氧化物的层可以混入或掺杂着色剂或其它元素,例如,有机或无机着色颜料,例如有色的金属氧化物如磁铁矿,氧化铬,或着色颜料如普鲁士蓝、群青、钒酸铋、特纳德蓝,或其它有机着色颜料如靛蓝、偶氮颜料、酞菁或还有洋红,或者元素,例如钇或锑。包含这些层的效果颜料相对于其主体色显示了很高的颜色多样性,并且在许多情形中显示出作为干涉结果的颜色的随着角度的变化性(随角变色性(Farbflop))。
在一个优选的实施方式中,载体上的外层是高折射率的金属氧化物。该外层可以额外地是在上述层组件之上,或者在高折射率载体的情形中是层组件的一部分,且可以例如由TiO2,钛低价氧化物,Fe2O3,SnO2,ZnO,ZrO2,Ce2O3,CoO,Co3O4,V2O5,Cr2O3和/或其混合物,例如钛铁矿或铁板钛矿构成。TiO2是特别优选的,此外还有Fe2O3。倘若用TiO2涂布载体薄片,则TiO2优选以金红石变型(Rutilmodifikation),还有以锐钛矿变型形式存在。特别优选的效果颜料具有下列结构:

为了额外地增加颜料的光,水和气候稳定性,通常推荐根据使用的领域,对效果颜料进行后涂布或后处理。有益的后涂布或后处理可以考虑例如DE-PS2215191,DE-OS3151354,DE-OS3235017或DE-OS3334598中描述的方法。该后涂布进一步增加了化学稳定性或简化颜料的操作性,特别是在不同介质中的加工。为了改善与应用介质的可润湿性、可分散性和/或相容性,可以在颜料表面上施加Al2O3或ZrO2或其混合物或混合相构成的功能涂层。其它可行的为有机或有机/无机结合的后涂布,例如采用硅烷,例如在EP0090259,EP0634459,WO99/57204,WO96/32446,WO99/57204,US5759255,US5571851,WO01/92425或J.J.Ponjeé,PhilipsTechnicalReview,第44卷,第3期,81页及其后和P.H.HardingJ.C.Berg,J.AdhesionSci.Technol.第11卷第4期,第471-493页中所述的。
本发明颜料制剂中的薄片状效果颜料的比例通常为55-80重量%,优选65-75重量%,基于颜料制剂计。最佳比例对于本领域技术人员而言很容易确定,并基本上取决于所用效果颜料的粒径、效果颜料的形态因子和颜料结构的类型。
特别优选本发明的颜料制剂包括:
55-80重量%,优选65-75重量%的效果颜料,
20-45重量%,优选25-35重量%的蜡或蜡混合物,
0.03-1.5重量%,优选0.03-0.8重量%的抗氧剂,
和任选地,
最高达10重量%的在塑料和/或漆料领域中常规的添加剂、助剂、填料、染料和/或着色颜料,基于总制剂计,
其中所有组分的总比例≤100重量%。
为了在将要着色的应用介质例如塑料中引入尽可能少的杂质材料,值得期望的是效果颜料尽可能高比例或载体材料尽可能小比例。但是,必须使用足够的载体材料以确保本发明颜料制剂所需的性能,例如无尘、改善的流淌能力或母料制备时更高的产量。为此,颗粒不仅需要用载体材料来包裹,它们还必须相互之间粘合成具有良好流淌能力的粗大“粉末”。
通过加入抗氧剂能降低包括蜡和效果颜料的颜料制剂的危险的自加热,从而使得不再需要根据《危险品运输建议,测试和标准手册》(RecommendationsontheTransportofDangerousGood,ManualofTestsandCriteria)的第33.3.1.6章中所述的测试方法N.4将其分类为危险物质。
所有本领域技术人员已知的抗氧剂都适合用于本发明,只要他们能与蜡相容。抗氧剂阻止或阻碍应用介质例如漆料和塑料中蜡的热诱导氧化。它们能防止自由基(在氧存在的条件下加热会通过加热而形成)的形成,并且同时防止变色和/或应用介质例如塑料、漆料的机械性能的变化。

本发明的颜料制剂比较容易制备。本发明因此还提供一种制备本发明颜料制剂的方法,其中将一种或多种薄片状效果颜料在热作用下与蜡或蜡混合物和抗氧剂混合。
例如,在根据本发明的方法中,可以预置入效果颜料并将其与蜡或蜡的溶液(或水性乳液或分散液)和抗氧剂混合。如果蜡或蜡混合物以溶液形式加入,则还可以在该溶液中分散效果颜料和抗氧剂并蒸发掉溶剂。溶剂的选择对于本领域技术人员是显而易见的,并且是在考虑到所用颜料以及尤其是所用蜡的溶解度的情况下。通过改变pH值的方式使载体材料从水性乳液或分散液中沉淀出也是可行的。此外,颜料制剂可以通过使蜡熔融来制备。使蜡熔融在本发明中是特别优选的,因为这样可以避免使用溶剂。
通过熔融制备本发明的颜料制剂优选在70-250℃温度下进行。优选在高于蜡的熔融范围的温度下实施该方法。这样,能实现颜料、抗氧剂和蜡特别良好的充分混合。
在根据本发明方法的进一步实施方式中,可以将漆料和塑料的加工中常规的其它添加剂和/或助剂加入到薄片状效果颜料、抗氧剂和载体材料组成的混合物中。这些添加剂和/或助剂的例子已经在颜料制剂的说明中提及。
除去溶剂之后或在冷却熔融过程中施加的蜡之后,颜料制剂作为一种自由流动的、粗大粉末存在,其可以被进一步良好地加工。
以这种方式处理的效果颜料在其光泽方面不比纯的未处理的效果颜料差。这是较之颜料能够以较大用量混入蜡中更令人惊讶的。例如,颜料制剂中蜡的比例可以<50重量%,优选25-35重量%,并且加工之后可以观察到不会有任何光泽方面的损害。
本发明颜料制剂的堆积密度比纯的(未处理的)效果颜料的堆积密度高至少50%。
在本申请中,堆积密度理解为松散堆料的重量/体积的比率。
本发明的颜料制剂用于直接着色塑料和漆料和用于制备母料的用途也是本发明的主题。
通过将塑料颗粒和/或塑料粉末与颜料制剂混合而向塑料中直接混入本发明的颜料制剂。然后,在热作用下使用本发明颜料制剂着色的塑料成型。此外,在混合颜料制剂的过程中可以向塑料颗粒和/或塑料粉末中任选地加入其它添加剂和颜料。这类添加剂的例子已经在颜料制剂的说明中提及。适合的颜料为本领域技术人员已知的所有无机或有机颜料。
塑料颗粒和/或塑料粉末/颜料混合物通常如此制备,即,在适合的混合器例如转鼓混合器或快速混合器中预置入塑料颗粒和/或塑料粉末,用可能的添加剂使其润湿,然后加入颜料制剂并充分混合。
为使用本发明的颜料制剂,适合的是一系列塑料,尤其是热塑性塑料。所述塑料优选是极性塑料,但对于相应选择的载体材料也可以使用非极性的(烯烃类的)塑料。适合的塑料的例子可以在例如Saechtling,KunststoffTaschenbuch,第27版,CarlHanser出版社中找到。
此外,本发明的颜料制剂还可以用于涂料、漆料(汽车和工业漆料)、粉末涂漆、印刷油墨和调色剂。
还可以将本发明的颜料制剂有利地用于制备母料。以此方式,即使对颜料分散的最高要求也能满足。在此,母料可以以连续或非连续的方式进行制备,优选连续的,例如通过使用单螺杆或双螺杆挤出机。在母料制备中,使用各个塑料的粉末或碎屑是有利的。在双螺杆挤出机上使用本发明颜料制剂的情形中,根据条件,产量相比于未经配制的颜料能增加至少2-5倍。此外,在于单螺杆挤出机上使用本发明的颜料制剂的情形下,可以制备基于母料计颜料比例最高达50重量%的母料。
优选使用本发明的颜料制剂来制备母料。在相应选择载体金属的情形中,极性和非极性的塑料都适合作为母料基础。例如,接枝共聚物,它们可以用在无论极性还是非极性的(烯烃类的)塑料中作为在本发明的效果颜料制剂中的载体材料。例如,乙烯-丙烯酸共聚物适合用于极性的塑料和用于非极性的塑料。
下面的例子用于阐述本发明,但不作为本发明的限制。
实施例
实施例1:
将297gLicowaxPE520(Clariant公司的PE蜡粉末)和3g1010(CibaSpecialtyChemicals公司的抗氧剂)在转鼓混合器中均匀混合0.5小时。然后,加入700g100(MerckKGaA公司的珠光颜料(以TiO2涂布的云母薄片)),再将混合物混合0.5小时直至得到均匀的预混物。
混合物的堆积密度通过不加压地将混合物装入250ml量筒中并测量堆料的重量来测定。堆积密度是重量/体积的比率,并且对于该混合物为290g/l。
将一个铸铁锅加热至表面温度为220℃。在持续搅拌下将整个混合物缓慢加入到锅中,并在持续搅拌下加热直至蜡在珠光颜料上均匀分布。然后,将均匀的混合物加入到钢槽中并在进一步的搅拌下冷却。
获得的颜料制剂不再有粉尘,可良好流淌且可以在单螺杆挤出机上加工成颜料占总量的高达约50重量%的母料。在双螺杆挤出机上,对于相同的颜料比例,采用该制剂可以使产量增加至少2-5倍(相比于未经处理的颜料)。本发明的颜料制剂能混入本领域技术人员已知的所有非极性的(烯烃的)塑料中而不存在任何问题。
获得的颜料制剂的堆积密度同样按照上述方法测定,且为470g/l。
实施例2:
与实施例1类似的制备颜料制剂,不同之处在于不加入1010抗氧剂。
在此,在冷却操作过程中已形成阴燃点(Glimmnestern),这只能通过加入干冰来避免。
通过实施例1所述的方法测得获得的颜料制剂的堆积密度为480g/l;所用混合物的堆积密度为285g/l。
自加热性能的试验
为了测试根据实施例1和2的制剂的自加热性能,采用《危险品运输建议,测试和标准手册》的第33.3.1.6章中所述的测试方法N.4。测试在140℃温度下在边缘长度为25mm和100mm的铁丝筐中实施,以测试是否发生自燃或危险的自加热。极限标准是在24小时内温度升高高于炉温至少60K。

将295.5gAH3粉末(BASF公司的低分子量PE蜡)和4.5gHostanox010(Clariant公司的酚类抗氧剂)在转鼓混合器中均匀混合0.5小时。然后,加入700g7205(MerckKGaA公司的干涉颜料:以TiO2/SiO2/TiO2涂布的云母薄片),再将混合物混合0.5小时直至得到均匀的预混物。

获得的颜料制剂不再有粉尘,能良好流淌且可以在单螺杆挤出机上加工成颜料占总量的高达约50重量%的母料。在双螺杆挤出机上,对于相同的颜料比例,采用该制剂可以使产量增加至少2-5倍(相比于未处理的颜料)。本发明的颜料制剂能混入本领域技术人员已知的所有非极性的(烯烃类的)塑料中而不存在任何问题。
Claims (9)
1.颜料制剂,特征在于,它包括55-80重量%的一种或多种薄片状效果颜料,20-45重量%的蜡或蜡混合物,和0.03-1.5重量%的至少一种抗氧剂,和任选地最高达10重量%的一种或多种添加剂、助剂、无机填料、染料和/或着色颜料,基于总制剂计,其中所有组分的总比例为100重量%,其中所述抗氧剂的比例为基于所用的蜡计0.1-5重量%并且选自
-酚/亚磷酸酯混合物
-酚;
和
所述的蜡或蜡混合物是含氯或氟的聚烯烃蜡,其熔融范围为80-150℃,根据DIN51007测定。
2.根据权利要求1的颜料制剂,特征在于,所述的蜡是非氧化的或部分氧化的聚烯烃蜡。
3.根据权利要求1的颜料制剂,特征在于,所述的蜡是聚乙烯蜡或聚丙烯蜡。
4.根据权利要求1的颜料制剂,特征在于,所述的蜡或蜡混合物的熔融范围为90-130℃,根据DIN51007测定。
5.根据权利要求1至4任一项的颜料制剂,特征在于,效果颜料选自下组:珠光颜料,干涉颜料,金属效果颜料,具有透明、半透明和/或不透明层的多层颜料,全息颜料,BiOCl颜料和/或LCP颜料。
6.根据权利要求1至4任一项的颜料制剂,特征在于,所述抗氧剂选自:
-四[亚甲基-3-(3,5-二叔丁基-4-羟基苯基丙酸酯)]甲烷、
-正十八烷基-β-(4-羟基-3,5-二叔丁基苯基)-丙酸酯、
-N,N′-二(3,5-二丁基-4-羟基苯基丙酰基)-肼、
-N,N′-己烷-1,6-二基二[3-(3,5-二叔丁基-4-羟基苯基)丙酰胺]、
-三(3,5-二叔丁基-4-羟基苄基)异氰脲酸酯、
-二(2,4-二叔丁基苯基)季戊四醇二亚磷酸酯、
-四[亚甲基-3-(3,5-二叔丁基-4-羟基苯基丙酸酯)]甲烷和三(2,4-二叔丁基苯基)亚磷酸酯的混合物(重量比1∶1)、
-四[亚甲基-3-(3,5-二叔丁基-4-羟基苯基丙酸酯)]甲烷和三(2,4-二叔丁基苯基)亚磷酸酯的混合物(重量比1∶2)、
-四[亚甲基-3-(3,5-二叔丁基-4-羟基苯基丙酸酯)]甲烷和三(2,4-二叔丁基苯基)亚磷酸酯的混合物(重量比1∶3)、
-四[亚甲基-3-(3,5-二叔丁基-4-羟基苯基丙酸酯)]甲烷和三(2,4-二叔丁基苯基)亚磷酸酯的混合物(重量比1∶4)、
-正十八烷基-β-(4-羟基-3,5-二叔丁基苯基)-丙酸酯和三(2,4-二叔丁基苯基)亚磷酸酯的混合物(重量比1∶1)。
7.根据权利要求1至4任一项的颜料制剂,特征在于,所述颜料制剂还包括一种或多种添加剂、助剂、无机填料、染料和/或着色颜料。
8.制备根据权利要求1至7任一项的颜料制剂的方法,特征在于,将一种或多种薄片状效果颜料和至少一种抗氧剂在热作用下与蜡或蜡混合物混合。
9.根据权利要求1至7任一项的颜料制剂用于为涂料,漆料,粉末涂漆,印刷油墨,塑料,调色剂着色和用于制备母料的用途。
