Description
本發明係關於包含一或多種小片形式的效果顏料之顏料製品,及其於施用介質(特別是塗漆、塗佈材料、粉末塗佈材料、聚合物)著色和於濃色體(masterbatch)製造之用途。
以小片形式底質(如,雲母小片)為基礎的顏料之流動行為常無法令人滿意。在許多應用中,特別是在印染和塗漆領域中,此不會導致任何重要問題。但在摻入聚合物中時,發現這些顏料欠佳的流動性會造成問題。
此外,珠光顏料之加工,例如濃色體製造,導致塵粒顯著形成,此須要相當大程度的設備複雜性以消除塵粒及清潔機械。
已經知道顏料本身可以有機組份塗佈以有助於將顏料摻入,例如,聚合物、粉末塗佈材料、調色劑等中。該方法已由,例如,DE 26 03 211、WO 2005/052076、WO 2005/019327、US 2002/0098495 A1和DE 4317019得知。
例如,US 6,451,102提出將珠光顏料埋在蠟中以提高流動行為和特別地提高小片形式的效果顏料之整體密度。
然而,已發現即使包含(>50%)的效果顏料和有機聚合物或蠟之先前技術的顏料製品非歸類於高可燃固體(根據試驗法A.10. Flammability(of Solids)of the Official Journal of the European Union No. L 383 A/76,始於29.12.1992),該製品通常仍不具氧化安定性且有危險的自行加熱趨勢。
因此,本發明的目的係提供顏料製品,其可以非常有效率地摻入應用介質中且同時不會展現任何危險的自身加熱的趨勢。

發現本發明之顏料製品於摻入聚合物中特別有利。此外,本發明之顏料製品不形成塵粒且具有非常良好的自由流動性,此減低其加工之設備複雜性。此外,相較於立即使用的顏料(unprepared pigment),當本發明之顏料製品用於雙螺桿擠壓機,產量(根據條件)可提高至少2-5倍。此外,本發明之顏料製品用於單螺桿擠壓機中,能夠製造效果顏料含量以濃色體計為高至50重量%的濃色體。
本發明之顏料製品的基本構份係抗氧化劑、蠟或蠟混合物。
此申請案中,蠟定義如下:於20℃,可捏和,固體至易碎且堅硬,粗至細晶粒,半透明至不透明,但不似玻璃;高於40℃,熔化但未分解,相對低黏度和非細線,即使略高於熔點亦然,強烈溫度依存一致性和可溶性,於溫和壓力下可拋光。蠟不同於類似的合成或天然產物(如,樹脂、塑膠材料、金屬皂等)之處基本上在於它們通常介於50和90℃之間(例外的情況中,甚至高至200℃)轉化成熔融低黏度狀態,且實際上沒有形成灰的化合物。蠟形成糊或膠且通常於煤煙火燄燃燒。

特別佳者為聚烯烴蠟,為含有極性基團且係藉聚烯烴蠟之後續氧化反應,藉與含有羧酸、羧酸酯、羧酸酐或羥基的單體之接枝反應,或藉烯烴和含有羧酸、羧酸酯、羧酸酐或羥基的單體之共聚反應形成。
本發明文中的蠟亦可為較高分子量化合物,其具有蠟質特性且以藉聚縮反應、聚加成反應或聚合反應製得為佳,如,熱塑性聚酯-、環氧化物-、苯乙烯-丙烯酸酯共聚物、苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物、環烯烴共聚物樹脂。欲具有在提高溫度在有機溶劑中之足夠的溶解度,較佳蠟具有分子量為500-20,000,特別是1000-15,000且2000-10,000最佳。
蠟的熔化反應(根據DIN 51007測定)以在70-200℃範圍內為佳,特別是80-150℃且90-130℃最佳。
極特別佳的蠟與顏料引至其中的濃色體具有良好相容性。用以引至聚烯烴濃色體中,以聚烯烴蠟為佳,如,聚乙烯或聚丙烯蠟。
較佳蠟或蠟混合物的熔化溫度為70-200℃,特別是90-130℃。
特別佳的蠟係聚烯烴蠟,特別是聚乙烯蠟。進一步較佳者為褐媒酯蠟和其衍生物,和醯胺蠟。
以製品總量計,蠟或蠟混合物在本發明之顏料製品中的比例以5-50重量%為佳,20-40重量%特別佳,25-35重量%最佳。
可根據本發明之顏料製品的使用範圍,改變蠟的量和類型,特別是欲確保與應用介質的相容性。當然,本發明之顏料製品亦可含有一、二、三或更多不同的蠟之混合物以滿足特別的性質輪廓。但是,本發明之顏料製品以僅含有一種蠟為佳,特別是聚烯烴蠟,聚乙烯蠟最佳。
本發明之顏料製品中,效果顏料、抗氧化物和蠟以彼此混合存在為佳。該效果顏料以蠟至少部分或完全經塗佈(即,完全包封)為佳。小片形式的效果顏料完全包封和“黏著結合”至包含抗氧化劑的蠟特別佳。
小片形式的效果顏料以珠光顏料、干擾顏料、金屬效果顏料、具透明、半透明和/或不透明層的多層顏料、全像顏料(holographic pigment)、BiOCl顏料和/或LCP顏料為佳。
可用於本發明之珠光顏料、干擾顏料、金屬效果顏料或具透明、半透明和/或不透明層的多層顏料特別以載體為基礎,該載體以小片形式為佳。適當的例子係TiO2

本發明之顏料製品相當易製造。因此,本發明亦提供製造本發明之顏料製品之方法,其中一或多種小片形式的效果顏料與蠟或蠟混合物和抗氧化劑在熱的影響下混合。
例如,根據本發明之方法中,可以先引入效果顏料及使其與蠟或蠟和抗氧化劑的溶液(或含水乳液或分散液)混合。若蠟或蠟混合物以溶液形式添加,則可將效果顏料和抗氧化劑分散於此溶液中及蒸除溶劑。將所用顏料和特別是所用蠟的溶解度列入考慮,溶劑以嫻於此技藝之人士習知的方式選擇。亦可藉由改變pH而使得載體材料自含水乳液或分散液沉澱。此外,可藉熔化蠟而製得顏料製品。蠟之熔化為本發明中特別佳者,此由於此得以避免使用溶劑之故。
藉熔化而製造本發明之顏料製品以於溫度為70至250℃進行為佳。較佳地,於高於蠟的熔化溫度進行該方法。以此方式,得到顏料、抗氧化劑和蠟之特別良好的混合。
根據本發明之方法的進一步體系中,常用於塗佈材料和聚合物加工的其他添加劑和/或輔助劑可加至小片形式效果顏料、抗氧化劑和載體材料的混合物中。該添加劑和/或輔助劑的例子已於顏料製造之描述中提及。
在熔化期間內移除溶劑或施用的蠟冷卻之後,該顏料製品以可進一步有效加工的自由流動、粗粉末存在。
以此方式處理的效果顏料不會損及純粹未經處理的效果顏料之光澤。更令人訝異地,顏料可以相當大量加工成蠟。例如,顏料製品中的蠟的比例可<50重量%,以25-35重量%為佳,加工之後的光澤無任何受損。
本發明之顏料製品的整體密度比純(未經處理的)效果顏料之整體密度高出至少50%。
此應用中,瞭解整體密度係鬆散床的重量/體積比。
本發明之顏料製品用於聚合物和塗佈材料的直接著色及用於製造濃色體,此亦構成本發明之標的物的一部分。
本發明之顏料製品直接摻入聚合物中係藉由使得聚合物顆粒和/或粉末與顏料製品混合而進行。之後,經本發明之顏料製品著色的聚合物在熱的作用下成型。此外,在摻雜顏料製品的期間內,其他添加劑和顏料可選擇地加至聚合物顆粒和/或粉末中。該添加劑的例子已於前述顏料製品的描述中提及。適當顏料為嫻於此技藝者已知的所有無機或有機顏料。
聚合物顆粒和/或粉末/顏料混合物通常藉由先將聚合物顆粒和/或粉末引至適當混合機(如,顛動或快速混合機)中,以任何添加劑將其潤濕及之後添加顏料製品及充分混合。
全系列聚合物適用於本發明之顏料製品,特別是熱塑性聚合物。該聚合物以極性聚合物為佳,但通常亦可以在適當選定的載體材料的情況中,使用非極性(烯烴)聚合物。適當聚合物的例子可見於,例如,Saechtling,Kunststoff Taschenbuch,27th Edition,Carl Hanser Verlag。
此外,發現本發明之顏料製品亦可用於塗漆、塗佈材料(汽車和工業塗佈材料)、粉末塗佈材料、印墨和調色劑。
本發明之顏料製品亦可有利地用以製造濃色體。以此方式,甚至可符合顏料分散液的最高要求。濃色體可以連續或批次方式製造,以連續製造為佳,例如藉由使用單螺桿或雙螺桿擠壓機。濃色體之製造中,有利地使用特別的聚合物之粉末或片。相較於立即使用的顏料,本發明之顏料製品用於雙螺桿擠壓機中時,產量可增進至少2-5倍。此外,可以將本發明之顏料製品用於單螺桿擠壓機以製造顏料含量以濃色體計為至高至50重量%的濃色體。
以使用本發明之顏料製品製造濃色體為佳。在載體材料經適當選擇的情況中,極性和非極性聚合物適合作為濃色體基礎。例如,可以在本發明之效果顏料製品中作為載體材料的接枝共聚物為極性或非極性(烯烴)聚合物。例如,乙烯-丙烯酸共聚物適用於極性聚合物和用於非極性聚合物。
下列實例用以說明本發明,但不限制本發明。
297克的Licowax PE 520(PE蠟粉末,Clariant)和3克的1010(抗氧化劑,Ciba Specialty Chemicals)在顛動混合機中均勻混合0.5小時。之後,添加700克的100(珠光顏料,Merck KGaA(TiO2
塗佈的雲母小片)),且該混合物再混合0.5小時直到得到均勻的預混合物。
藉由在常壓下將混合物填入250毫升量瓶中並測定床重而測得混合物的整體密度。整體密度係重量/體積比且該混合物的整體密度為290克/升。
鑄鐵盤加熱至表面溫度為220℃。完整混合物於持續攪拌時緩慢地引至盤中並於持續攪拌下加熱直到蠟均勻分佈在珠光顏料上。之後,均勻混合物引至鋼浴中並進一步攪拌冷卻。
得到的顏料製品非塵粒,自由流動且可在單螺桿擠壓機中加工成具有以總量計為高至約50重量%顏料的濃色體。在雙螺桿擠壓機上,使用相同顏料含量,可使得此製品的產量增進至少2-5倍(相較於未經處理的顏料)。本發明之顏料製品可以無任何問題地摻入嫻於此技藝者已知的所有非極性(烯烴)聚合物中。
亦藉前述方法測定所得顏料製品的整體密度且為470克/升。
類似於實例1地製造顏料製品,但未添加1010抗氧化劑。此處,於冷卻操作期間內就形成悶燒處,此僅可藉由添加乾冰而避免。
藉實例1中描述的方法,所得顏料製品的整體密度係480克/升;所用混合物的整體密度為285克/升。
測試根據實例1和2的製品之自身加熱行為,試驗方法N.4,述於Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods,Manual of Tests and Criteria章節33.3.1.3。在邊緣長25毫米和100毫米的金屬網籃中,於溫度140℃進行試驗,以測試是否發生自發性自燃或危險的自身加熱。限制標準為在24小時內,溫度提高至高於爐溫至少60K。

Claims (12)
- 一種顏料製品,其特徵在於其包含一或多種小片形式的效果顏料、蠟或蠟混合物及至少一種抗氧化劑,該抗氧化劑選自:- 內酯/亞磷酸鹽混合物- 內酯/亞磷酸鹽/酚混合物- 酚/亞磷酸鹽混合物- 亞磷酸鹽- 酚;及任意地一或多種添加劑、輔助劑、無機填料、染料和/或彩色顏料,其中以顏料製品計,該效果顏料比例為55-80重量%。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1項之顏料製品,其中該顏料製品具有蠟含量為以總製品計之20-45重量%。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1或2項之顏料製品,其中該蠟或蠟混合物選自天然蠟、經改質的天然蠟、部分合成蠟、完全合成蠟、醯胺蠟、氯化或氟化的聚烯烴蠟。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1或2項之顏料製品,其中該蠟係完全合成蠟。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1或2項之顏料製品,其中該蠟係未氧化的或部分氧化的聚烯烴蠟。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1或2項之顏料製品,其中該蠟係聚乙烯蠟或聚丙烯蠟。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1或2項之顏料製品,其中 該蠟或蠟混合物之熔點範圍為70-200℃(根據DIN 51007測定)。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1或2項之顏料製品,其中該效果顏料選自珠光顏料、干擾顏料、金屬效果顏料、具透明、半透明和/或不透明層的多層顏料、全像顏料(holographic pigment)、BiOCl顏料和/或LCP顏料。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1或2項之顏料製品,其中以所用的蠟計,該抗氧化劑比例為0.01-5重量%。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1或2項之顏料製品,其中該抗氧化劑選自:- 肆[伸甲基-3-(3,5-二-第三丁基-4-羥基-苯基丙酸)]甲烷- β-(4-羥基-3,5-二-第三丁基苯基)丙酸正十八酯- N,N’-雙(3,5-二丁基-4-羥苯基丙醯基)肼- N,N’-己烷-1,6-二基雙[3-(3,5-二-第三丁基-4-羥苯基)丙醯胺]- 參(3,5-二-第三丁基-4-羥苄基)異氰脲酸酯- 三(2,4-二-第三丁基苯基)亞磷酸酯- 二亞磷酸雙(2,4-二-第三丁基苯基)季戊四醇酯- 亞磷酸三苯酯- 亞磷酸參壬基苯酯- 亞磷酸二苯基異癸酯- 磷酸二異癸基苯酯- 亞磷酸二異辛基苯酯 - 磷酸二苯基異辛酯- 磷酸烷基/芳基酯- 亞磷酸雙酚A酯- 硫代二丙酸二月桂酯- 硫代二丙酸二硬脂酯- 丁基-和辛基二苯胺- 二壬基二苯胺- 4,4’-雙(α,α-二甲基苄基)二苯基胺- 4,4’-二辛基二苯基胺- 肆[伸甲基-3-(3,5-二-第三丁基-4-羥基-苯基丙酸)]甲烷和三(2,4-二-第三丁基苯基)亞磷酸酯之混合物(重量比1:1)- 肆[伸甲基-3-(3,5-二-第三丁基-4-羥基-苯基丙酸)]甲烷和三(2,4-二-第三丁基苯基)亞磷酸酯之混合物(重量比1:2)- 肆[伸甲基-3-(3,5-二-第三丁基-4-羥基-苯基丙酸)]甲烷和三(2,4-二-第三丁基苯基)亞磷酸酯之混合物(重量比1:3)- 肆[伸甲基-3-(3,5-二-第三丁基-4-羥基-苯基丙酸)]甲烷和三(2,4-二-第三丁基苯基)亞磷酸酯之混合物(重量比1:4)- β-(4-羥基-3,5-二-第三丁基苯基)丙酸正十八酯和三(2,4-二-第三丁基苯基)亞磷酸酯之混合物(重量比1:1)。
- 一種製造根據申請專利範圍第1項之顏料製品之方法,其特徵在於一或多種小片形式的效果顏料和至少一種抗氧化劑與蠟或蠟混合物在熱的影響下混合。
- 一種根據申請專利範圍第1項之顏料製品之用途,其用於塗漆、塗佈材料、粉末塗佈材料、印墨、聚合物、調色劑之著色及用於濃色體(masterbatch)的製造。
