Abstract

技术领域
本发明通常涉及照明装置。更具体地,本发明涉及促进照明装置散热的各种结构。
背景技术
当设计和实施照明装置时,热量的产生是要考虑的许多因素之一。在照明装置中,光源会产生热量,这些热量对于照明装置的功能而言可能是不希望产生的。过多的热量导致部件的熔化、相邻设备的故障或其它不希望的结果。此外,过多的热量会降低照明装置内各个部件的效率或寿命。因此,更低的工作温度可以增加照明装置内部件的效力。
热量能通过三种方式进行传递:对流、传导和辐射。这三种传热的方法可被用来将来自照明装置的热量传递出去,如果这样的热量的存在是不希望的。
发明内容
一方面,本发明提供一种照明装置,其包括光源、板和框架。所述光源包括一个或多个照明元件。所述板能够与所述光源热连通并且具有从所述板与光源之间的热连通点向外远离延伸的散热部分。所述框架至少部分包围光源。所述框架也与板或光源中的一个热连通并具有基本上安装在所述板内的接触区(footprint)。
在各个实施例中,照明元件可以是安装在印刷电路板上的发光二极管。所述照明装置还可以包括与所述板的一部分相关联的外壳。所述外壳能够产生容纳所述板和光源的空间。
在一个实施例中,所述板和框架由金属片制成。所述板与光源的一个表面直接接触。在另一个实施例中,照明装置包括覆盖至少一部分光源的透镜。
另一方面,本发明提供一种具有光源、板和框架的照明装置。所述光源包括一个或多个照明元件。所述板具有限定板的最外周边的散热(dissipative)部分。所述框架至少部分包围光源。所述框架与所述板或光源中的至少一个热连通。所述框架还具有基本上位于所述板的最外周边范围内的外周边。所述散热部分从与框架的热连通点远离延伸。
另一方面,所述照明装置包括光源、板和框架。光源包括一个或多个照明元件。所述板具有从所述板与光源之间的热连通点向外延伸的散热部分。所述框架至少部分包围所述光源,而且还在两者之间热连通。

具体实施方式
本说明书描述在照明装置中使用的散热系统。本发明的各个方面和各个实施例提供照明装置和用于这些照明装置的散热系统。通过将照明元件和其它产热源设置成与导热材料热连通,热量能够从照明元件及其周围结构向外转移到照明装置的其它区域,包括促进高的散热率的散热系统。此外,散热材料的表面积、位置和定向迅速有效地散发热量。散热系统的部件的关键位置促进有效的辐射以及对流。
现在参照图1-3A,描述照明装置10的一个实施例。照明装置10包括框架14、板18、外壳22、光源26、安装机构30和透镜34。光源26包括多个照明元件38。光源26与板18产生如下面所述的热连通。框架14,如图所示,部分包围光源,它与板18和透镜34热连通。外壳22与板18热连通。安装机构30被附连到外壳22并便于将照明装置安装在需要的位置。
在一个实施例中,框架14基本上成正方形形状,并且在四个侧上局部包围光源14。在留出布线、连接机构等的必要入口的情况下,框架14连同板18和透镜34在所有侧上包围光源26。在各个实施例中,框架14还可具有不同的形状。框架具有不同形状的一个例子请参照图4。根据具体场合,框架14的形状的不同例子包括,但不限于,矩形、圆形或者其它允许部分包围光源26的形状。框架14与板18、光源26中的至少一个或者两个热连通。框架14还与透镜34热连通。在各个实施例中,本发明的散热系统可以,但不是必须的,不带有透镜34就可使用。图3A所示的框架14与板18之间处于热连通的位置(其限定外周边)要比它与透镜34之间处于热连通的位置(其限定透镜周边)要宽。这种宽度上的变化产生框架14的向内倾斜的部分16。在其它实施例中,框架14具有向外倾斜的部分、来自板18的不具有倾斜度的垂直延伸部分或者其它突起。
在一个实施例中,光源26包括至少一个照明元件38。可能的照明元件38包括白炽灯泡、荧光灯、发光二极管(LED)、有机LED(OLED)和其它商业或非商业可利用的发光部件。
在一个实施例中,发光二极管被制造或安装到印刷电路板上(PCB)。发光二极管可以是任何种类、任何颜色(即,发出任何颜色或白光或者当预想的照明布置需要时,也可以是带颜色的光与白光的混合)和任意亮度或强度,优选在可见光谱的范围内。一个或多个PCB与板18热连通。PCB上的照明元件38散发出透过透镜34的光。在一个实施例中,所述照明装置能够使用Nichia NSW6-083x和/或Osram LUW W5AM xxxx xxxx发光二极管。
在一个备选实施例中,本发明涉及一种具有光源26、多个照明元件38和多个反射器39的照明装置,正如2007年10月17日申请的共同未决美国临时专利申请60/980,562中所述的,通过参考该专利申请的整体内容在此引入。
所述板18的形状大致为正方形,其在与外壳22有热连通的区域内基本上是平的。板18在各个实施例中能够与框架14或者光源26之一热连通。在另一个实施例中,在板18和框架14之间的热连通通过光源26发生。板18还可具有不同的形状。比如,根据应用场合,板18的形状能够是,但不限于,矩形、圆形或者其它形状。此外,板18还可具有竖直的形状,而不是基本平的形状。比如,板18可以是,但不限于,弯曲的、S形或者其它弯曲形状。板18具有最外边的周边,该周边是板18在平行于光源26、透镜34或框架14的平面内且在其最外位置时的周边。如图所示,所述板的最外边周边是板18与外壳22之间的热连通点的最宽周边。在备选实施例中,板18具有基座43,该基座的大小基本上与它和外壳22的接触点的大小相同,而且,在框架的最外周边处,板18的散热部分从外壳22向外突出并基本上平行于框架14的向内倾斜部分16延伸。如下所述,该平行突出使得散热表面的角度朝向更凉的区域。可选地,板的基座43和板18的突出散热部分46可以是热连通的两个单独的件。框架14具有位于框架14和板18之间的热连通处的外接触周边。所述外接触周边基本位于由板18限定的最外周边内。可选地,在各个实施例中,框架14的外接触周边可以是但不限于局部位于板18的最外周边外侧。
在图1-3A所示的实施例中,外壳22与板18及固定机构30热连通。在与板18的热连通点处,外壳22的形状大致为正方形。在各个可选实施例中,外壳22在与板18的热连通点处可以采用各种不同的形状。比如,所述形状可以是但不限于矩形、圆形或其它形状。
所述固定机构30便于光源26的安装与定位。固定机构30被设计为容纳操作照明装置10所需的必要的电子布线,比如电源线。固定机构比如可以给外壳22运送布线,以覆盖和域包含如电源、稳压器、驱动电路的部件或其它需要的部件/电路来操作照明装置。在一个实施例中,所述固定机构是管子。
所述固定机构30在各个实施例中,能够采用任意形状、大小或形式。此外,在各个实施例中,所述固定机构30能够由不同的材料制成,比如但不限于塑料、金属或橡胶。在这样的实施例中,所述固定机构通过与照明装置10的其它部件的协作可以散热也可以不散热。此外,固定机构30可以可拆卸地固定到外壳22。可选地,固定机构30与外壳22融入成一个整体连续的件。固定机构30具有轴线,该轴线垂直于板18延伸,如图1-3A所示,或者可选地,平行于板18延伸,如图4所示。
在本发明的各个实施例中,照明装置10中彼比连通的一个或多个部件可以实现可拆卸式连接。比如,与外壳连通的板18底座可以是与远离外壳22的板的突出部46相分离的件。在另一实施例中,框架14可以制造成与板18成一体的连续件。类似地,板18可以是与外壳22成一体连续的件。分离的部件和融合的部件的各种其它的组合也都可以想到。
如图所示,外壳22的形状大致是具有平顶的正方形底面的拱顶(如图1所示)。在各个实施例中,所述外壳可以采用许多形状。比如,外壳22的形状可以但不限于圆形拱顶、圆锥形、立方体或其它形状。
如图3和3A所示,通过在接触点40安装框架14和板18导致的直接接触发生框架14和板18之间的热连通。这种直接接触点40便于板18和外壳22之间的热连通。外壳22和固定机构30之间的热连通也通过直接接触点41发生。在各个实施例中,所述热连通可采用其它形式。比如,在任意一对部件之间的热连通可以但不限于在照明装置10的各个部件之间存在的橡胶垫圈、粘结剂、聚亚安酯或其它材料。比如,垫圈可以但不限于由Sika公司制造的Sika Tack-Ultrafast聚亚安酯垫圈。每个部件的材料可以具有一样的传热特性。可选地,可以使用具有各种传热特性的不同材料,并由此传递或多或少的热量。
此外,在各个实施例中,能够增加各个部件的表面积以影响传热特性。比如,外壳22被进行凹陷处理。此外,能够在一个或多个部件上添加“鳍状物”(没有画出)。所述鳍状物可以是从相应部件的各个方向延伸的突起。
现在讨论在照明装置10工作过程中的热传递。光源26产生热量。该热量从光源26被传递给板18。这种传递通过传导、对流或辐射发生,具体取决于板18和光源26之间的热连通模式。在一个实施例中,热量由照明元件38产生,比如但不限于发光二极管,相应地,PCB、驱动器、电源调节器和照明装置的部件。在这样的实施例中,热量从发光二极管通过PCB或者其它上面安装有发光二极管的元件传递给板18。热量通过板18传送到几个点。热量主要通过在直接接触点40处的传导被带给框架。热量还通过板18传送到板18的散热部分46。如图3和3A所示,散热部分46基本平行于框架14的向内斜面16。可选地,散热部分46基本平行于由透镜34限定的平面,如图7和7A所示。在一个实施例中,板18和板的散热部分46是分离的、非连续的件。热量还通过板18借助接触点40处的传导被带给外壳22。然而,在其它实施例中,热量通过对流或辐射被传递给外壳。接着,热量通过外壳22在触点41处被带给固定机构30。在各个实施例中,能够添加更多的热连通点来增加散热。比如,一个实施例具有,但不限于,与板热连通的另一个散热部分。一旦热量已经被带给照明装置10中散热系统的其它部分,热量就通过对流和/或辐射传递给照明装置10的周围环境。
本发明想到了改变散热部分46的角度以控制热辐射的方向。如图3和3A所示,散热部分46基本上平行于框架14的向内斜面16。在该结构中,散热部分46的外表面向下辐射热量并使热量远离光源。因为当向下照明时,热空气上升,相应地冷空气大概位于灯的下方,将散热部分的外表面设置成向下的角度就保证散热部分与较冷的环境接触并且将辐射引向更冷的位置。因为随着温度差越来越大,会发生更多的辐射,所以希望的是将散热部分46的外表面以使该温度差最大化的方式进行设置。在可选的实施例中,散热部分46能够以变化的角度进行设置,以充分利用特定的环境并使该温度差最大化,这是本领域技术人员能够想到的。
现在参照图4,该图示出了照明装置10’的另一个实施例。在该实施例中,照明装置10’包括框架14’、板18’、外壳22’、光源26’、固定机构30’、透镜34’、和照明元件38’。所述框架14’和板18’具有矩形形式。在各个实施例中,框架14’和板18’能够采用如上所述的任何形状。固定机构30’具有平行于板18’的轴线。如上所述,各个部件的材料和结构都可以变化,因此重复所有的可能组合。
现在参照图5,该图描述了图4中照明装置10’的截面视图。照明装置10’包括框架14’、板18’、光源26’、照明元件38’、外壳22’、PCB42’、透镜34’、和偏移间隙50。如图所示,由于包括由框架14而不是由板18形成的偏移间隙50,该实施例不同于图1的照明装置10。该偏移间隙50允许在各个实施例中放置垫圈、粘结剂、聚亚安酯或者其它材料来共同形成各个部件之间的热连通。由于具有该偏移间隙50和接触点40’,所示的实施例允许使用,但不限于垫圈或其它密封剂来抵抗湿气的进入,而同时还保持框架14’和板18’之间的直接接触40’。
现在参照图6,该图描述了照明装置10″的另一个实施例。所述照明装置10”包括框架14”、板18”、包括多个照明元件38”的光源26”和透镜34”。框架14”与光源26”和板18”热连通。板18”通过框架14”与光源26”热连通。
现在参照图7,该描述了图6中照明装置10”的截面视图。框架14”与板18”和外壳22”热连通。框架14”与板18”存在接触点60。通过框架14”的重力牵拉靠在板18”上来实现所述热连通,但是可以通过其它方式比如仅仅借助螺钉、插销、紧固件、粘结剂、弹簧、夹子或其它机构来放大热连通。在该实施例中,框架14”的向内斜面16”与板18”的倾斜部分具有共同一个接触点。在这样的结构中,热量能够从光源26”通过传导传递给框架14”。热量还能够通过传导从框架14”传递给外壳22”和板18”。使用对流和辐射,热量通过框架14”、外壳22”、板18”的散热部分46”以及通过与光源26”热连通的其它材料传递给照明装置10”周围的环境。辐射也从板18”的散热部分46”被向下引导。
尽管图示并描述了各个实施例,应当理解还能够做出其它的各种修改。比如,用来制造照明装置的导热元件的材料由金属片构成。在其它实施例中,能够使用其它材料比如金、银、铝、不锈钢或其它材料。比如,能够使用ASTM:铝3003H14。当然,也可以使用一种或更多种材料的各种组合。此外,尽管图示的大多数部件是相对光滑的,但是应当理解它们可以进行纹理处理、加工出轮廓、具有波浪、涂料或者其它不平的改动以增加或者减少它们的热传递特性。此外,在本发明的各个实施例中,板18,18’,18”或板46,46’,46”的散热部分至少可在正常工作时被灯的普通观察者部分观察到。在一个实施例中,观察者的视角垂直于透镜34、框架14或板18所产生的平面,观察者能够在平面图观察到板18,18’,18”的至少一部分或板46,46’,46”的散热部分。
尽管本发明参照优选实施例,应当理解本发明的公开内容意图是示意性的而不是限制意义的,正如能够想到的,在本发明的精神和所附权利要求的范围内,本领域技术人员很容易做出各种修改。

Claims (23)

1、一种照明装置,包括:
光源,其包括一个或多个照明元件并与所述一个或多个照明元件热连通;
与所述光源热连通的板,其具有从所述板与光源之间的热连通点向外延伸的散热部分;和
至少局部包围所述光源的框架,其与板或光源之一热连通,并且具有基本上装配在所述板内的外周边。
2、如权利要求1所述的照明装置,其中所述一个或多个照明元件包括发光二极管。
3、如权利要求1所述的照明装置,还包括与所述板的一部分相连通的外壳,所述外壳产生容纳所述板及光源的空间。
4、如权利要求1所述的照明装置,其中所述板和框架由金属片构成。
5、如权利要求1所述的照明装置,其中所述板与光源的表面直接接触。
6、如权利要求1所述的照明装置,其中所述一个或多个照明元件被安装在印刷电路板上。
7、如权利要求1所述的照明装置,还包括覆盖所述光源的至少一部分的透镜。
8、一种照明装置,包括:
光源,其包括一个或多个照明元件并与所述一个或多个照明元件热连通;
板,其具有限定最外周边的散热部分;和
至少局部包围光源的框架,其与所述板或光源之一热连通,并具有基本位于所述最外周边之内的外周边,所述散热部分远离与框架的热连通点延伸。
9、如权利要求8所述的照明装置,其中与框架的热连通点通过光源产生,而且所述框架不与所述板直接接触。
10、如权利要求8所述的照明装置,其中所述一个或多个照明元件包括发光二极管。
11、如权利要求8所述的照明装置,还包括与所述板的一部分相连通的外壳,所述外壳产生容纳所述板和光源的空间。
12、如权利要求8所述的照明装置,其中所述板和框架由金属片构成。
13、如权利要求8所述的照明装置,其中所述板与光源的表面直接接触。
14、如权利要求8所述的照明装置,其中所述一个或多个照明元件被安装在印刷电路板上。
15、如权利要求8所述的照明装置,还包括覆盖光源的至少一部分的透镜。
16、一种照明装置,包括:
光源,其包括一个或多个照明元件并与所述一个或多个照明元件热连通;
板,其与所述光源热连通;
至少局部包围光源的框架,其与板或光源之一热连通;和
突出元件,其与所述板、框架或光源之一热连通,并且远离所述板、框架或光源之一延伸。
17、如权利要求16所述的照明装置,其中所述突出元件与所述板是整体的。
18、如权利要求16所述的照明装置,其中所述一个或多个照明元件包括发光二极管。
19、如权利要求16所述的照明装置,还包括与所述板的一部分相连通的外壳,所述外壳产生容纳所述板和光源的空间。
20、如权利要求16所述的照明装置,其中所述板和框架由金属片构成。
