技术领域
本发明涉及一种反作用构件,该反作用构件适于结合包装材料的供热向包装材料的第一部分施加压力,以便将包装材料的第一部分密封到包装材料的第二部分上,该构件设置有适于至少邻接包装材料的所述第一部分的邻接表面。
背景技术
目前的食品包装工艺(“食品”表示诸如果汁、牛奶、和其它饮料,以及酱、汤、果冻、和奶酪等所有种类的固体和液体食品)通常是“成形-填充-密封”类型的,并可以通过以下方式实现,即,将由软质层合材料制成的连续移动的片状包装材料制作成连续移动的软管,将待包装的所需食品连续地填充在软管中,并对软管进行密封及从软管上将已密封的包装件切下来。图1a中示意性地示出了这种从连续的片状包装材料形成软管并进一步形成包装容器的实例。
包装过程通常是高速连续的过程,其中,片材10形式的包装材料通过机器被连续地供应,并例如经过液相或气相的起快速灭菌作用的介质被消毒,再成形并密封为用于填充待包装食品的所需的软管形状11,最后进行横向密封。
连续的片状包装材料是利用包装材料生产机器制造的并置于卷轴1上。包装材料通常具有层压结构,其包括纸或纸板的核心层、在核心层每侧上的由热塑聚合物(如聚乙烯)形成的外部热密封层、以及如果需要的话,还包括设置在纸核心层与薄膜之间的铝箔阻气层。可替换地,可以采用诸如聚酰胺、乙烯乙烯醇共聚物(EVOH)或氧化硅的塑料或无机材料的阻气层来替代铝箔。
具有包装材料的卷轴1安装在包装机器中,其中,利用设置在机器中的几个位置上的驱动机构将包装材料在包装机器内放出并发送。包装材料片材在包装机器内被制作成软管并沿纵向被密封。当软管在包装机器内向下传输时,液态或流动的食品从上方供应,以填充到管状包装材料的内部。接着,包装材料软管从两侧受到横向挤压,并以特定间隔沿横向被密封,以形成相互连接的、充满的并且密封的包装容器11′。接着,密封好的包装容器通过在横向延伸的密封部之间进行切断而从软管上分离下来,并且通过沿包装材料上预先形成的折缝线折叠并弯曲而将这样分离下来的包装容器制成特定的所需要的形状,如果需要的话,为了保持该形状,对包装容器进行最终密封。
管状包装材料沿纵向或横向的密封是通过对由热封热塑性塑料制成的包装材料的外表面进行相互热密封来实现的。这可以通过已知的热密封技术来进行,例如,感应热密封、射频(RF)或微波热密封、热对流密封、或超声波振动热密封。目前在无菌包装中用于横向热密封的一种常见的热密封技术是感应热密封,其中,为了产生热量,包装层压材料中的铝箔与感应器共同合作。通过感应电流和压力的同时作用,热塑性表面通过热熔接彼此结合在一起。
包装材料的预切割坯料可以装入到包装机器内,并被折叠及纵向密封,为了提供开口包装容器,再在底部折叠成形并密封。该容器被填充并随后在顶部被密封,这样就提供了填充好的包装件11″。
因此,传统的包装机器采用热密封装置来密封包装材料。密封装置通常设置有所谓的反作用卡爪和热密封卡爪,其以彼此相对的关系被设置并工作。
图4示意性地示出了此类热密封装置的实例,而图5示意性地示出了常规反作用卡爪20和热密封卡爪30的横截面视图。
通常,为了进行横向热密封,每个反作用卡爪设置有一对反作用横杆(rail)21,同时每个热密封卡爪设置有密封块31。每个反作用横杆21和相向的密封块31能够形成横穿包装材料的一个横向热密封S。刀具40可以设置在形成于两个反作用横杆21之间的间隙中。每个反作用横杆21设置有被称为“垫盘”或“压力垫”的反作用构件22,其沿反作用横杆延伸,同时,在感应密封的情况下,密封块31设置有与垫盘22相对设置的感应线圈33。更通常地,在包装成为连续管状包装材料的情况下,密封和切断操作是在包装过程的同一部分中进行的。
但是,完全有可能将密封和切断操作彼此分开,例如,在单独的切断装置中顺序地切断已填充并密封的软管。
图2和图3示意性地示出了用于感应密封的传统反作用横杆和密封块的侧视图,其在密封S完成之前或之后设置在待热密封的包装材料的相对侧上。
如图2和图3所示,为了执行例如管状包装材料11的横向感应密封,软管或容器的包装材料壁12、13可以彼此面对面地放置在密封区S内,用于对例如管状包装材料进行横向感应密封。每个包装材料壁12、13通常是由纸基层14和例如位于铝箔层15内表面上的聚乙烯薄膜层16制成的层压结构。虽然没有特别地示出,但是纸基层14的外表面还包覆有诸如聚乙烯的塑料材料层。两个包装材料12、13的聚乙烯部16通过热熔结合在一起。
在其它热密封方法中,例如高频(RF)密封或热对流密封,铝箔层不需要产生热量。
反作用横杆21通常由钢制成,并满足平面性和平行性的需要。根据如密封质量、包装材料类型,包装尺寸、和待包装产品类型的要求,垫盘22的形状和机械性能可以改变,以更好地满足状况。在如本发明的情况一样是高质量密封的情况下,例如用于无菌或长期储存的被称为“延长保存期”的包装,垫盘需要具有一定程度的挠性和压缩性,以便控制来自密封区S中的层16上的已加热的热塑流。
感应线圈33沿密封块31延伸,并通常设置有朝向反作用卡爪延伸的突起35。冷却液通道36穿过感应线圈33而形成,以控制冷却液流经冷却液通道36而造成的感应线圈33的温度。在图2所示的密封过程的初始阶段,包装材料11置于密封块31与具有垫盘22的反作用横杆21之间,随之,反作用卡爪和热密封卡爪移动,使得它们相互靠近。然后,反作用卡爪和热密封卡爪进一步朝向彼此地移动,并且包装材料11的密封部受到感应线圈33和反作用构件22的猛烈挤压并变形。利用电力装置(未示出)施加高频电压,使得铝箔15利用感应电流而产生热量。因此,如图3所示,包装材料的彼此面对的并挤压在成对的铝箔15之间的成对的聚乙烯部16被加热,并且在密封区S内的聚乙烯部16熔融。
因此,管状包装材料11通过热熔而结合在一起。
如图3所示,可压缩的反作用构件22在密封阶段变形。当来自密封块和反作用横杆的压力被释放时,反作用构件恢复其初始形状,并为下一次密封和压缩操作做好准备。此类可压缩反作用构件通常由具有适当的机械和化学特性的塑料材料制成。目前,最常见的是,交联聚氨酯(PUR)用于这个目的。所需形状和结构的垫盘通常是从交联聚氨酯材料上切下来的。交联PUR的垫盘通过插入到沿反作用横杆21延伸的槽27中而固定在不锈钢(化学稳定钢)的切断横杆上。垫盘的结构、硬度、和压缩性是对于密封质量极为重要的因素,并且可以根据上面列出的各种因素而改变,例如,所需的密封质量、包装材料的类型、包装尺寸、和待充装的产品。垫盘的不同形状和硬度/压缩性特性,在热熔过程中对密封区S中的热塑流的影响将是不同的。而且,这些也是影响软管中的充装产品被挤压离开密封区S的方式的重要因素。因此,已经证实了,对于包装尺寸和待充装产品的不同组合,其最优形状是不同的。
而且,用于垫盘的塑料材料应该是对于化学制品(例如各种充装产品中的碱性清洗剂、乳酸、和其它物质)以及灭菌剂(例如过氧化氢(H202))具有稳定性。
虽然已知的反作用横杆和垫盘可以充分地发挥作用,但是其确实具有一些缺点。这种已知结构的主要缺点是,相对于切断横杆和密封块,垫盘由较软的材料制成,并且在经过一段时间后容易磨损,因此必须定期进行换新。每次更换垫盘,包装机器必须完全停机。首先,必须从反作用卡爪上拆下在运行期间安装在其上的反作用横杆。其次,必须拆除固定在反作用横杆中的槽中的旧垫盘。
在拆除旧垫盘之后,新的垫盘必须插入到反作用横杆的窄槽中,进而必须将反作用横杆连接至反作用卡爪,然后机器再次开始运行。槽及垫盘通常具有不对称的横截面结构,并且重要的是,垫盘需要很小心地置于并固定到槽中,且需要插入到正确位置上,即,以正确的方式定位。更换垫盘的步骤需要占用一些时间,由于垫盘应该被很稳固地固定到槽中,因此,垫盘具有稍大于槽的横截面。从而,必须用一些力才能将垫盘分别从槽中拉出或压入。由于该操作极为复杂,所以要手动完成。机器必须完全停机的时间可以最长达到大约10分钟,这包括机器从运行速度调整下来的减速时间和调整到运行速度的启动时间,在停机期间,根据包装机器的类型,以正常生产速度可以生产出至少600-1300个包装件。
EP 1 300 340 A1中描述了一种装置,用于对充满可流动食品的片状包装材料的软管进行热密封。该装置具有第一和第二卡爪,两卡爪分别具有密封装置和压力装置。为了在软管的特定部分上夹紧软管,并在所述部分上对软管进行密封,两卡爪可以在相对于软管供料路径的横向方向上彼此相向地移动。第一卡爪(通常称为密封卡爪)限定与密封材料的软管配合的第一接触表面,并具有至少一个突起;而第二卡爪(通常称为反作用卡爪)限定第二接触表面,第二接触表面至少在第一接触表面的突起处是凸出的。
US 6,216,420 B1中披露了一种用于热密封的类似装置。用于对包装用片状材料的软管进行密封的该装置具有第一和第二卡爪,该第一和第二卡爪可以彼此相向地移动,以在压力下夹紧软管并对软管进行热密封。第一卡爪具有加热元件,该元件具有一对基本上平直的有效表面,该有效表面在中间面的相对侧上延伸并平行于中间面。第二卡爪具有一对压力垫,其容纳在相应的位置,并与加热元件的有效表面配合。
WO 00/44625涉及一种反作用横杆和垫盘,适用在用于对包装液体或流体产品的层压包装材料进行热密封的装置中,其中,反作用横杆和垫盘均基本上由塑料材料制成。文献还涉及用于热密封的装置以及包括所述反作用横杆和垫盘的密封/切断装置。此外,文献披露了通过共注塑模制法生产所述反作用横杆和垫盘的方法。
当设计上述热密封装置时,关键的因素是形成反作用卡爪接触表面的橡胶零件的寿命。在目前的工业应用中,由于在邻接表面上会发生意外的划痕或切口,所以热密封装置中的该零件通常以不到大约40个工时为间隔进行更换。
而且,经常出现的问题是,橡胶垫盘易于粘附到包装材料上,这会导致出现问题并损坏包装材料和橡胶垫盘。根据现有技术的密封系统的另一个问题是,密封窗(即间隔,其间可以对关键的密封参数进行选择)过窄,而无法给机器操作工提供最佳密封与不满意密封之间的满意的安全界限。

通过引入具有反作用构件的密封卡爪,上述问题得以消除或至少被减少了,该密封卡爪被赋予的特性化特征是,邻接表面设置有适于收集(entrap)出现在邻接表面和包装材料的第一部分附近的流体或气体的多个凹部(indentation)。通过在邻接表面上形成凹部,可以发现流体或气体被迫被收集并带到邻接表面与包装材料的所述第一部分之间的接触区域。引入到邻接表面与包装材料的所述第一部分之间的流体或气体将起到润滑作用,其使得接触区域中的压力分布平滑,进而会降低邻接表面和包装材料上的磨损。可以发现,通过引入如上所述的凹部,使用寿命得以显著提高。在工业生产环境下进行检测,可以发现该使用寿命大约是本说明书引言部分中所描述的传统系统的使用寿命的二至五倍。在传统系统中,常见的是利用水来冲刷密封区域以对软管进行冷却。可以发现凹部中所收集的流体具有压力分布的作用,使得在更宽的密封窗口内在纵向密封与横向密封的交叉处也可以形成高质量密封。可以发现所收集的水从卡爪和包装材料传输热量,这比简单地对软管进行冲刷更为有效。
从属权利要求中限定了本发明的优选实施例。
根据优选实施例,凹部具有大约25-500μm的深度,优选地是大约100-250μm,最优选地是大约170μm。可以发现,例如由于水在密封时间间隔内将得以保留,而在随后的冷却时间间隔内将消失,所以上述的深度值适于使用。
根据可替换的优选实施例,邻接表面设置有具有第一深度的多个凹部和具有不同于第一深度的第二深度的多个凹部。
这种结构将有可能对多个不同工作条件下的功能性进行优化。例如有可能形成邻接表面,该邻接表面具有适于特定用途的第一流体(空气)的凹部和适于其它用途的第二流体(水)的凹部,而无需更换邻接表面。
优选地,每个凹部的形状基本上都被设置成球体的一部分。由于该设计在邻接表面的制造中易于制造和限定,所以其是优选的。而且,由于该形状被认为是与流体自由液滴的优选形状相一致,所以考虑到流体或气体的收集,该形状目前是优选的。此外,该形状还被认为是从流体到邻接表面上提供了适当的压力分布,而不具有任何不希望的压力峰值。
根据优选实施例,凹部具有0.15-0.80mm的球体半径,优选地是大约0.25-0.50mm。可以发现,例如由于水在密封时间间隔内得以保留,而在随后的冷却时间间隔内消失,所以上述的半径值适于使用。
优选地,凹部所具有的球体半径与深度的比是10-50∶1,优选地是20-30∶1。可以发现,例如由于水在密封时间间隔内得以保留,而在随后的冷却时间间隔内消失,所以上述的比例值适合使用。水在密封期间将被加热,并在离开时从密封卡爪系统中带走热量,这样就提高了密封操作之间的系统冷却。
根据优选实施例,邻接表面设置有凹部,该凹部占邻接表面总面积的大约15-50%,优选地是大约20-40%。凹部的总面积根据每平方毫米所期望的压力分布、期望的润滑效果、和期望的散热效果来计算。
优选地,邻接表面沿第一组相互基本上平行的几何线以及沿第二组相互基本上平行的几何线而设置有凹部,第二组线定位成基本上横过第一组线。这将有助于获得良好的密封性能,同时也能实现上述有关润滑等目的。而且,在制造模具或反作用构件时,其是一简单的设计。

具体实施方式
与本申请的情况一样,在上面提到的由同一申请人申请的文献EP 1 300 340 A1、US 6,216,420 B1、和WO 00744625中完整地描述了热密封技术。为了描述有关热密封技术,将那些文献作为参考。而且,在背景技术的描述中已经对密封技术进行了相当详细的描述。在优选实施例的此描述中,将仅对理解本发明所必要的特征进行描述。
由图6至8可知,垫盘22设置有邻接表面23,该邻接表面适于向待密封到包装材料的第二部分上的包装材料的第一部分S施加压力。从图7至8可知,垫盘形成有大体上为蘑菇形的横截面,即,它们的形状基本与已在图3中示出的未加载状态的形状相对应。在图7中,邻接表面23形成为凸面,而在图8中,邻接表面23形成为平面。
邻接表面23设置有多个凹部24,凹部适于收集出现的任何流体或气体,如上所述。如图6至图8所示,凹部24的形状形成为球体的一部分。凹部24的半径R是大约0.40mm。凹部的深度A为大约0.017mm。半径和深度之间的该比例使得几何球体的中心位于邻接表面的平面上方大约0.183mm处。如图6所示,凹部24沿多条顺着A并交叉B横向密封的线对称布置。图5中,纵向方向A延伸进入并离开图纸,而横向方向B平行于图5中的图纸平面而向上和向下延伸。在最后的包装中,纵向方向A将在包装件的顶部或底部沿包装件的宽度方向顺着密封翼(fin)而延伸,而横向方向B将沿着密封翼的高度方向向上延伸几毫米。
如图6-8所示,凹部24分布在整个邻接表面23的上方。如前所述,凹部24仅在图6中左上角示出。
当密封卡爪30和反作用卡爪20彼此相向受力时,它们将夹紧其间的包装材料11。在同时进行的向下运动过程中,它们将软管向下拉动,因而有助于将片材11输送通过机器。如上所述,密封卡爪30在向下运动过程中将提供磁场,该磁场将在铝箔层15中感应而产生电流,这将加热铝箔层15和邻近的塑料层16。加热和加压将使得塑料层16熔融在一起,从而在冷却之后它们将形成密封S。为了加强形成为互联包装线或独立包装线的包装材料以及密封系统的冷却,用冷却水对软管进行冲刷。如上所述,邻接表面23设置有多个凹部24,凹部适于收集出现在邻接表面23和正在密封的包装材料附近的该软管冲刷水。
水将起到润滑的作用,从而将显著降低包装材料和橡胶垫盘彼此粘附的风险。如果它们粘附在一起,可能会导致垫盘受损或包装件受损。如果包装材料没有如预期地那样被精确地向下拉动,由于成形元件可能以无法预知的方式与包装材料相互影响,则还可能会导致成形方面的问题。由于所收集的水通过密封区域与材料直接接触,所收集的水也将回收相当大的热量,这确保了当来自密封卡爪30和反作用卡爪20的夹紧力被释放时密封可以受到适时地冷却。选择凹部24的形状,以确保所收集的水在所述密封卡爪的下一轮密封循环开始之前被释放。这确保了被加热的水将不会保留在凹部,而将会被新的冷却水取代。
反作用构件22以及这样的邻接表面23由弹性聚合物材料制成,优选地是弹性体。这样,邻接表面将是弹性的,并在待密封的包装材料上形成合适的压力分布。根据第一实施例,反作用构件22及其邻接表面23由固化的聚合物材料形成,优选地是聚氨酯橡胶。根据第二实施例,反作用构件22及其邻接表面23由可注射模塑的聚合物材料形成,优选地是热塑性的聚氨酯弹性体。
考虑到有关的润滑和冷却效果,可以考虑在一组范围内选择多个参数。凹部24具有大约25-500μm的深度,优选地是大约100-250μm。邻接表面23设置有具有第一深度的多个凹部24和具有不同于第一深度的第二深度的多个凹部。凹部24具有大约是0.15-0.80mm的球体半径,优选地是大约0.25-0.50mm。凹部24所具有的球体半径与深度的比例是10-50∶1,优选地是20-30∶1。为了提供满意的压力分布、润滑和冷却效果,邻接表面23设置有凹部24,凹部占总面积的大约15-50%,优选地是大约20-40%。所考虑的面积是与包装材料接触的并适于向包装材料施加压力的面积。
如上所述的反作用构件22(根据可注射模塑的塑料形成的实施例)优选地根据以下所描述的方法制造。
该方法包括以下步骤:提供具有凹腔的模具,凹腔的形状与至少一个反作用构件相对应,并将可注射模塑的聚合物材料注入到凹腔中。凹腔形成有适于在反作用22的邻接表面23中形成所述凹部24的多个凸起。该方法使得可以很容易地以充分控制的方式在邻接表面23中形成所需的凹部24。设置凹腔的方式、将塑料加热达到可模塑温度的方式、以及利用某种注射装置、压力缸等注入塑料的方式,在这里不作赘述,因为它们在生产塑料或弹性制品的领域内是公知的。
可以设想对这里所描述的实施例进行多种更改,但它们都包含在所附权利要求限定的本发明范围内。
例如,设想凹部可以以与沿两组垂直的平行线并排设置的方式不同的方式而布置。例如,凹部可以以错列的方式而形成,其中每个第二线上的凹部设置在所述线每侧的线的凹部之间的位置(类似于示出数字5一侧上的方块的中心点)。

Claims (18)

1.一种反作用构件(22),适于结合包装材料(11)的供热向所述包装材料(11)的第一部分(S)施加压力,以便将所述包装材料(11)的所述第一部分(S)密封到所述包装材料(11)的第二部分上,构件(22)设置有邻接表面(23),所述邻接表面(23)适于至少邻接所述包装材料(11)的所述第一部分(S),其特征在于,所述邻接表面(23)设置有多个凹部(24),所述凹部(24)适于收集出现在所述邻接表面(23)和所述包装材料(11)的所述第一部分(S)附近的流体或气体。
2.根据权利要求1所述的反作用构件,其中,所述邻接表面(23)由弹性聚合物材料形成。
3.根据权利要求2所述的反作用构件,其中,所述邻接表面(23)由固化的聚合物材料形成。
4.根据权利要求3所述的反作用构件,其中,所述邻接表面(23)由聚氨酯橡胶形成。
5.根据权利要求2所述的反作用构件,其中,所述邻接表面(23)由可注射模塑的聚合物材料形成。
6.根据权利要求5所述的反作用构件,其中,所述邻接表面(23)由热塑性的聚氨酯弹性体形成。
7.根据权利要求1-6中任一项所述的反作用构件,其中,所述凹部(24)具有25-500μm的深度。
8.根据权利要求7所述的反作用构件,其中,所述凹部(24)具有100-250μm的深度。
9.根据权利要求1-6中任一项所述的反作用构件,其中,所述邻接表面(23)设置有具有第一深度的多个凹部(24)和具有不同于所述第一深度的第二深度的多个凹部。
10.根据权利要求1-6中任一项所述的反作用构件,其中,每个所述凹部(24)基本上形成为球体一部分的形状。
11.根据权利要求10所述的反作用构件,其中,所述凹部(24)具有0.15-0.80mm的球体半径。
12.根据权利要求11所述的反作用构件,其中,所述凹部(24)具有0.25-0.50mm的球体半径。
13.根据权利要求11所述的反作用构件,其中,所述凹部(24)所具有的球体半径与深度的比例是10-50∶1
14.根据权利要求13所述的反作用构件,其中,所述凹部(24)所具有的球体半径与深度的比例是20-50∶1。
15.根据权利要求1-6或11-14中任一项所述的反作用构件,其中,
所述邻接表面(23)设置有凹部(24),所述凹部占所述邻接表面(23)总面积的15-50%。
16.根据权利要求15所述的反作用构件,其中,所述邻接表面(23)设置有凹部(24),所述凹部占所述邻接表面(23)总面积的20-40%。
17.根据权利要求1-6或11-14中任一项所述的反作用构件,其中,所述邻接表面(23)沿第一组相互基本上平行的几何线(A)及沿第二组相互基本上平行的几何线(B)设置有凹部(24),所述第二组线定位成基本上横过所述第一组线。
18.一种生产根据权利要求1-6或11-14中任一项所述的反作用构件的方法,所述方法包括以下步骤:
a)设置具有凹腔的模具,所述凹腔的形状与至少一个反作用构件(22)相对应;
b)将可注射模塑的聚合物材料注入到所述凹腔中,其特征在于,所述凹腔形成有多个凸起,所述凸起适于在所述反作用构件的表面(23)中形成凹部(24),当所述反作用构件(22)用来热密封所述包装材料时,所述凹部(24)适于收集出现在所述表面(23)和所述包装材料(11)的第一部分(S)附近的流体或气体。
