技术领域
发光二极管(LED)以各种形式用作基本的照明结构,如户外标志和装饰照明。基于LED的发光带已经用于槽型字(channelletter)系统、建筑上的边界管应用、橱柜下面的照明应用、以及用于普通的照明,常常替代传统的氖气灯或荧光灯。
背景技术
提供能够替代氖气灯或荧光灯的照明系统的已知尝试包括:将LED光源机械地固定到柔性电线上。其它的已知系统将LED安装在通过电跨接相互连接的印刷电路板上。这些已知的大功率LED产品需要安装于传导表面,以散发由LED产生的热量,并且由于外力或较差的安装技术而易于发生机械和电故障。这些已知系统具有有限的柔性,且具有有限的直线分辨率。另外,有些系统不便于用户更换独立的LED或LED组件。
因此,期望提供一种克服前面所提到的缺点的LED发光引擎。
发明内容

具体实施方式
参照图1,发光二极管(LED)发光引擎10包括:柔性电缆12、与柔性电缆连接的线插口组件14、以及选择性地与线插口组件连接的LED组件16。该发光引擎10可以安装在各种不同的结构上,并且可以用于各种不同的环境中,一些实例包括槽型字和箱体信号照明(图8)、穹灯、以及橱柜下面的重点照明等。
参照图2,柔性电缆12包括用绝缘包皮26包围的多个导体18、22和24。图中示出了3个导体,但电缆可以包括几个到许多导线,其中一些导线可以传送电力,一些可以传送电信号等。优选地,导体是14AWG或16AWG(美国线规),但其它粗度的导线也可以使用。当电力流过电缆时,导体可以称为正导体18、负导体24和串联导体22。导体18、22、24与电源(未示出)电连接,所述电源可以包括低压输出电源,向LED组件16提供照明电压。导体18、22和24平行于电缆12的纵向轴线伸展,并在一个平面内彼此对齐。当处于与所述平面相交的边缘,例如图2中电缆的薄边上时,这种定位使电缆12容易弯曲。电缆12还包括形成于绝缘包皮26中的V形槽28和32。槽28和32平行于导体18、22和24沿着电缆12纵向伸展。槽28和32位于相邻导体18、22和24之间。

参照图4,线插口组件14插入LED组件16中。LED组件16包括安装插座120,线插口组件14装配于其中。具体地说,底座36和罩34的上部54由安装插座120容纳。如前面所提到的,在替换实施例中,LED组件16可以插入线插口组件14中,或者线插口组件和LED组件可以以其它传统方式选择性地彼此连接。
再次参照图2,LED组件16包括固定于底座124上的罩122。罩122包括罩相对侧上的两个侧突部126和128以及罩后部上的两个后突部132和134。罩122还包括罩相对侧上的两个弹性卡子136和138。弹性卡子136和138有凸边(knurl)142(图2中只显示了1个)。在相应的侧突部126和128以及相应的卡子136和138的前方(即,朝向线插口组件14),一对侧壁144和146从罩122的相对侧悬垂。每个侧壁144和146均包括朝向彼此延伸的下延伸部148和152。下延伸部148和152与罩122的上表面150相隔,以限定LED组件16的安装插座120。罩122还包括LED 156从中突出的开口154。

从后壁168延伸的多个翅片190能够为LED 156提供散热片。翅片被示为散热片;但散热片器还可以包括销或其它结构,以增加散热片的表面积。翅片190从后壁168向后、向下延伸。翅片190向下几乎延伸到了每个侧连接突部176和178的安装表面186和188,如图6和图7所示,以使散热片的表面积达到最大。如图7所示,翅片190还向前延伸,也就是朝向电缆12延伸,远离底座124的上部,从而也使散热片表面积最大化。具体参照图6,翅片190与线插口组件14的基座72中的狭槽74对齐,从而空气可流过狭槽74并在翅片190之间流动,以冷却LED 156。

电插座198安装在支撑件192上,并接收来自线插口组件14的端子38和42的凸形引线脚108和112。电插座198通过电路(未示出)与LED 156的引线202和204电连接。电路可以印刷在支撑件192上,或者可以提供导线将插座连接至引线202和204。电路可以包括电压管理电路。
在替换实施例中,与电插座198相似的电插座可以安装于线插口组件14。线插口组件上的这种电插座可以接收与LED 156电连接凸形插入件。可替换地,可以以其它传统方式实现导体18、22、和24与LED 156之间的选择性电连接,所述传统方式包括焊接、导线跨接、卷曲在端子上、或其它电-机械连接方式。

Claims (7)

1.一种发光二极管(LED)发光引擎包括:
柔性电缆,包括位于同一平面中的三个电导体和包围所述电导体的绝缘包皮;
多个线插口组件,与所述电缆连接,每个所述线插口组件包括至少两个绝缘移位连接(IDC)端子,其中,每个所述IDC端子剥离所述电缆的所述绝缘包皮,并与所述电导体之一接触;
多个LED组件,每个都与相应的一个所述线插口组件连接,每个所述LED组件包括LED、与所述LED热连通的散热片、以及线插口组件插座,当所述LED组件与相应的所述线插口组件连接并且所述线插口组件插座接收所述相应的所述线插口组件时,所述LED与所述IDC端子电连接。

LED组件,与所述电缆连接,所述LED组件包括LED、导热支撑件、印刷在所述导热支撑件上的电路、设置在所述导热支撑件上并与所述电路电连通的电插座、和经由所述导热支撑件而与所述LED热连通的散热片,所述LED与所述电路电连通;以及
IDC端子,插入在所述电缆中和所述电连接器中,所述IDC端子与所述电导体相接触,并且经由所述电连接器而与所述LED电连接。
