- 発光ダイオード(LED)照明手段(10)であって、
実質的に同一平面に配置された少なくとも2つの電気導体(18,22,24),電気導体を囲む絶縁被覆(26),を有する可撓電気ケーブル(12)と、
ケーブル(12)に取付けられ、各々が少なくとも2つの圧接接続(IDC)ターミナル(38,42)を有する複数のワイヤソケット組立体(14)と、を有し、各IDCターミナル(38,42)は、ケーブル(12)の絶縁被覆(26)に圧接し、且つ、電気導体(18,22,24)の1つに接触し、
各ワイヤソケット組立体(14)にそれぞれ選択的に取付けられた複数のLEDモジュール(16)を更に有し、各LEDモジュール(16)が、LED(156)と、このLED(156)と熱的連通したヒートシンク(190)と、組立レセプタクル(120)とを有し、LEDモジュール(16)が各ワイヤソケット組立体(14)に取付くときに、LED(156)がIDCターミナル(38,42)と電気的に接続し、組立レセプタクル(120)がワイヤソケット組立体(14)を受け入れることを特徴とする照明手段。 - ワイヤソケット組立体(14)の少なくとも1つが、ベース(36)を有し、
IDCターミナル(38,42)は、各IDCターミナル(38,42)が、ベース(36)からケーブル(12)に向けて延びる第1の部分(104,106)と、ベース(36)からLEDモジュール(16)の少なくとも1つに向けて延びる第2の部分(108,112)と、を有するように、ベース(36)に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の照明手段。 - 少なくとも1つのワイヤソケット組立体(14)は、第1の部分(104,106)と第2の部分(108,112)との間で少なくともIDCターミナル(38,42)を実質的に覆うカバー(34)を有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の照明手段。
- LEDモジュール(16)は、各IDCターミナル(38,42)の第2の部分(108,112)を受け入れるため、電気レセプタクル(198)を有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の照明手段。
- ワイヤソケット組立体(14)の少なくとも1つは、電気レセプタクルを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の照明手段。
