背景技术
在纸币和证券领域,对于防伪的安全特征的需要正日益增加。实际上,在过去的年代里,计算机、扫描仪和复印机已经得到广泛地发展,而且今天,以合理的价格购买到性能良好的设备是可能的。因为这些设备性能越来越好,与此同时就必须对证券,例如纸币、支票、卡片(即信用卡)、身份卡、护照等,发展新的和改进的安全特征,使得不能通过标准计算机或者扫描仪,甚至现代彩色复印机来复制这些安全特征。
这些安全特征包括:带闪光特性的特殊油墨,即所谓的光可变墨,其用于在票据的基片上印刷特殊图案;光可变装置(例如全息照片,活动图(kinegram)),其采用金属片形式;或者也可为特殊图案,例如波纹图案以及其它类似的图案。如果不是不可能的话,所有这些也是非常难以用现有的设备复制,但是,另一方面,很容易通过视觉控制。
其它的安全特征包括重叠线和/或带颜色的图案的组合,它们只能在特殊的条件下(例如紫外光或者通过透光)被看到。另外,这些安全特征的益处是,它们易于印刷或者放置在要保护的文件上,而且还易于用简单的设备(甚至通过视觉)来控制,但是却不可能用现有的印刷机、扫描仪或者复印机来复制。
另一个特殊的技术涉及水印,其中用线或者只在透光条件下可见的图案对纸基片作出标记。这种技术的进一步发展是在基片中(特别是在纸基片中)形成视窗的模拟水印,这些基片通常是不透明的,所述视窗是透明的。
然而,在纸基片中形成或者模仿透明的视窗是非常困难的。因此,透明的视窗广泛地用在用于纸币和证券的基于聚合物的基片中,目的是提供一种安全元件。这些聚合物基的基片通常是完全透明的;因此,为了形成一个透明视窗,只需使被选中的区域免于印刷。然而,在基片是纸的情况下,基片是不透明的,已经开发了第一种方法,根据这种方法,可以局部地减小纸的厚度以便在基片中形成透明视窗。例如PCT申请WO99/14433公开了这种方法,该申请的内容在本申请中引为参考。按照这种已知的方法,在一个或者多个预定区域,一种浸渍溶液被涂在纸的至少一面上,然后在被浸渍的区域施加压力和热量,从而相对纸的其余部分而言,使所述区域中被涂的纸脱水和压实。因此,相对纸的其余部分而言,所述区域的厚度减小,并且是透明的。
然而,这种第一种技术存在着在包含所述视窗的区域中纸的强度局部弱化的缺陷。特别地,视窗的厚度越小,所述区域越弱。因此使用这种方法的纸币的使用期限缩短,并且必须更换,即,必须印刷新纸币以替换损坏的旧纸币。
为了形成所述透明视窗,另一种技术是在基片中直接切割一个孔。例如,PCT申请WO95/10420,其内容被本申请引为参考,公开了带切割视窗的纸币。当然必须覆盖基片中切割出的开口,这在该情况下是通过一个具有透明材料条的覆盖物(例如箔片(foil)或者层压片(laminate))来实现的。
发明内容
本发明的目的是改进已知的设备和方法。
本发明的目的是提供一种在平面基片中切割开口的改进设备。
本发明的另一个目的是提供在平面基片中切割开口的改进方法。
为了实现这些目的,本发明按照权利要求中给出的限定进行。
根据本发明的一个方面,提供一种用于在平面基片中切割开口的设备,所述设备至少具有切割工具、保持所述基片并沿预定方向驱动所述基片的传送系统、以及在切割操作过程中保持所述基片的吸气盒,所述切割工具包括产生能在两个垂直方向上被移动的激光束的激光器以及将所述基片的被切割部分排出的排出装置,其中:所述吸气盒和所述切割工具位于基片的相同一侧,并且所述吸气盒还包括带有吸气开口的底壁以及切割开口,所述基片被吸靠在该底壁上,所述切割开口被设置在所述底壁上,并且所述激光束穿过该切割开口被瞄准到所述基片上。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供一种用于在平面基片上切割开口的方法,其特征在于所述方法包括下述步骤:用夹紧装置保持所述基片,沿给定方向移动所述基片,使所述基片吸靠到一个表面上,使激光束穿过设置在所述表面上的切割开口瞄准到所述基片上,以便在所述基片上切割出开口,将所述基片的被切割部分排出。

具体实施方式
首先参照图1说明用于在平面基片中切割开口的设备的实施例。
在这个设备中,连续的基片1(比如纸张或者其它材料)通过进给系统(例如摆动式夹紧传递装置2(swing gripper transfer))送到该设备,并且被传送到第一传送滚筒3。连续的基片1由带有夹紧系统5且在印刷设备领域中已知的传送滚筒4所传递。
然后,基片1被传送到一个运输装置,比如一个链式夹紧系统7,其包括有其上安装有夹紧杆8(gripper bar)以运载连续基片1的链条。所述夹紧杆与第一传送滚筒3配合以接收连续基片1并将其运输到该设备的切割部分。
如所说明的,基片1被链式夹紧系统7接收,直到到达该设备的切割部分的下面。这个切割部分包括一个吸气盒9,其在底壁中具有连接到吸气源11的吸气开口10,所述源11提供低压下的空气,以在切割操作过程中将基片1紧压在所述盒9的底壁的外表面上。
所述切割操作通过激光器来执行,激光束13被引入盒9的底壁的切割开口14。激光束13或者直接瞄准被切割的基片,或者通过镜子或者其它等同装置间接地瞄准被切割的基片。因此,在切割操作过程中,基片处于停止状态并且保持压紧底壁的外表面,于是激光束可以通过底壁的切割开口14切割基片中需要的开口。这个切割开口14可以具有和在基片中要被切割的视窗一样的形状,或者具有更大的尺寸。为了执行切割操作,激光束13或者通过沿两个正交轴线X-Y用合适的机械设备移动激光器12本身来直接地瞄准,或者通过本身可移动从而沿两个正交轴线X-Y移动激光束13的镜子(见图4)来间接地瞄准。因此,所述系统能够切割几种不同尺寸的视窗,而无需改变设备,而只是通过沿轴线X-Y正确地瞄准激光束13。
一旦已经发生切割操作,被切割部分或者通过低压之下的空气被吸入到盒9中并且被排出,或者也通过低压之下的空气被吸入到排出出口15。
相应地,如果被切割部分在盒中通过排出出口15被排出,优选地是切割开口14被透明材料(例如玻璃)封闭以便避免在盒9中和出口15中产生的真空的平衡问题。如果被切割部分相对基片的尺寸来说足够的小,即使切割开口被透明材料封闭,在切割操作过程中基片也将被适当地保持靠在底壁的外表面上。
在一种变型中,也可以去除排出出口15并通过盒9排出被切割部分。
盒9和排出出口15(当存在时)对于排出由切割操作所产生的烟雾也是有用的。
当完成切割操作以及已经排出被切割部分时,基片可以被链式夹紧系统7取走以进一步处理,就是说,链式夹紧系统7前进,于是将被切割的基片1带到第二传送滚筒16,并且被切割基片1可以经受进一步的处理,比如在另一个设备(未示)中将箔片层压在视窗上。这样的层压箔片的应用设备的例子在2003年4月30日提交的、以KBA-GIORT S.A.为申请人的、名称为“Machine forapplying and cutting strips of laminate”的欧洲专利申请中给出,该申请的内容在本申请中引为参考。这样的层压箔片条的申请的另一个例子在2002年9月10日提交的、以KBA-GIORT S.A.为申请人的欧洲专利申请No.02405782.0中给出,该申请的内容在本申请中引为参考。
如本领域中所熟知的以及上述公开文献中的箔片条的申请都允许使用在专利申请EP1291195和以KBA-GIORT S.A.为申请人于2002年9月10日提交的欧洲专利申请02405782.0中公开的技术,两个专利申请在本申请中被引为参考,以对切割基片应用正反面的安全以及控制元件。
在图2中,表示的是吸气盒9的截面俯视图。作为一个非限定实施例,底壁17具有矩形形状并且包括几个在切割操作过程中用于使得盒9中低压之下的空气作用在基片上并使基片紧靠着底壁17外表面的孔10。底壁17还包括由激光束13穿过其中实施切割的开口14。所述开口14的形状在实施例中给出的是矩形,但是其它的形状是可能的(正方形,圆形,三角形等)。
如上所述,开口14可以被透明材料封闭以避免盒9和出口15之间的负压平衡问题。
在图3中,示出了用于沿两个切割方向移动激光束13的第一系统。在此系统中,其原理在本领域中是已知的,激光器12本身例如通过适当的致动装置18,19(转动的或者线性的)来进行转动或者沿两个轴线X和Y进行线性运动而被移动,从而通过使激光束13穿过底壁17和开口14移动来执行基片1的切割操作。
在图4所示的变型中,激光器12本身被固定,而且只是通过底壁17的开口14沿基片中要被切割的形状引导激光束13,例如通过一个通过适当的致动装置21,22(比如马达驱动的致动装置)绕两个正交轴线转动的镜子20来引导激光束13,其原理在本领域中是已知的。

Claims (15)
1、一种用于在平面基片(1)中切割开口的设备,所述设备至少具有切割工具(12,13)、保持所述基片(1)并沿预定方向驱动所述基片的传送系统(7,8)、以及在切割操作过程中保持所述基片(1)的吸气盒(9),所述切割工具包括产生能在两个垂直方向上被移动的激光束(13)的激光器(12)以及将所述基片(1)的被切割部分排出的排出装置(9,11;15),其中:所述吸气盒(9)和所述切割工具(12,13)位于基片的相同一侧,并且所述吸气盒(9)还包括带有吸气开口(10)的底壁(17)以及切割开口(14),所述基片(1)被吸靠在该底壁(17)上,所述切割开口(14)被设置在所述底壁(17)上,并且所述激光束(13)穿过该切割开口(14)被瞄准到所述基片上。
2、如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述排出装置(9,11)通过经由所述切割开口(14)的吸气来将被切割部分排出。
