Abstract
Se proporcionan procesos y métodos para refinar una aleación de ferroníquel y para producir sulfato de níquel u otro producto de níquel, donde la aleación de ferroníquel es tratada con una lixiviación oxidativa. La lixiviación oxidativa puede ser, por ejemplo, una lixiviación oxidativa a presión (POX) o una lixiviación con iones de peróxido o cobre (II). El tratamiento puede ser en presencia de cobre añadido, como mediante la provisión de una solución de sulfato de cobre. La producción de sulfato de níquel puede comprender la eliminación de cobre y hierro después de la lixiviación, la eliminación de impurezas y la cristalización del sulfato de níquel o la precipitación/obtención de otro producto de níquel.
