Abstract

Un proceso para recuperar zinc y metales de valor asociados, de menas, concentrados e intermedios portadores de zinc, especialmente, de polvo de horno de arco eléctrico (EAFD) y licor de decapado de zinc de la molienda de acero agotado (ZPL) que comprende lixiviar el material de alimentación en ácido clorhídrico concentrado reciclado, recuperar hierro como una forma pura de hematita, precipitar hidróxido de zinc puro y secar dicho producto para formar óxido de zinc puro, y recuperar magnesia mediante pirohidrólisis. Los metales de valor, tales como la plata, el cobre, el plomo y el cadmio, también se recuperan como productos puros. Una forma de realización particular es combinar EAFD con licores de decapado agotados de plantas siderúrgicas, y en particular, con ZPL de plantas de siderúrgicas agotado. La presente proporciona un único proceso que permite la recuperación de hierro, zinc y cualquier otro metal en una forma de valor económico, y la generación, dentro del proceso, de sus propios reactivos para el reciclaje interno.
