Abstract
The present invention relates to composites comprising a fibrous graphitic porous matrix containing mesopores with an average size of between 2 and 50 nm, and micropores with an average size of below 2 nm, and elemental sulphur placed into the pores of the porous matrix. The invention also relates to processes for preparing the composite including physical and chemical methods as well as mechanical methods using dry and wet conditions. The composites described are particularly useful in electrodes for lithium-sulphur batteries.
