La fig. 1 représente, en élévation, une forme d'exécution établie pour le transport d'un matériel d'artillerie lourde comportant, en dehors de l'affût proprement dit, une plateforme destinéeà être installée sur le sol et sur laquelle ledit affût peut pivoter au tour d'un axe vertical pour les changements de pointage en direction, les deux trains étant représentés sur un sol horizontal et dans la position qu'ils occupent dans la marclie en ligne droite;

L'arrière-train comporte l'essieuG por- lant IP,# roues7.
Pour opérer le retrait de la charge, il suf fit comme le montre lit fig. 6, de disposer des vérins Vet V' sous la plateforme J, et de soulever, au moyen de ces vérins, ladite plateforme. On éloigne alors de l'arrière- train la partie de véhicule formée par l'avant- train etla barre F jusqu'à ce que les roues ( , de l'arrière-train viennent dans la position indiquée en traits mixtes, eng';
Dans la forme d'exécution représentée par les fig. 10 et11, l'arrière-train est formé par le. train de roues d'un affût a flèche. La flèche d'affûtJ est aménagée, comme l'était la plateforme J clans l'exemple des fig. 1 à 7' pour venir prendre appui, par une rainure P.rquée J', formée sur la tôle de crosse, sur un g#ilei ît porté par un bras U solidaire de la barre creuse F;
Self-propelled vehicle with four-wheel drive for the transport of artillery material. The present invention relates to a self-propelled vehicle with four-wheel drive for the transport of artillery material, comprising a front end to control motor and a rear end of artillery material support, assembled by means of a hollow bar connected by a pivot.
-vertical both to the front end axle and the rear axle, the front end and rear end being engaged by means of sec tors toothed of different radii engaged with a movement take-off member, carried by said bar and constituted by a sleeve mounted idle on the latter and provided with two pins of diameters proportional to the radii of the toothed sectors with which they mesh -, the transmission of the movement of the engine to the wheels of the rear end being effected by means of a vertical shaft passing axially through the vertical connecting pin of the front end and which is connected by pins to a rotating shaft ,
housed inside the interior 1 of the hollow bar and the rear end of which is connected, by articulation to the. gimbal to differential actuation of the wheels key the rear axle. Divm examples of the object of the invention -ont shown in the accompanying drawing.
Fig.  1  represents, in elevation, an embodiment established for the transport of heavy artillery equipment comprising, apart from the lookout itself, a platform intended for  </ B> be installed on the ground and on which the said carriage can pivot around a vertical axis for changes of direction pointing, the two trains being represented on a horizontal ground and in the position they occupy in the marclie in straight line;

The fig. 12) and 13 show a variant (the detail of this embodiment.
The vehicle represented by FIGS. 1 to 7 has a front axle whose axle is designated as A \ while its wheels are designated as a. On the A axle is suspended, by springsb, a frame B which supports the C mode and the D. steering mechanism In,
aillie under the frame B is formed a pivot --erfie # il E. On its rear edge, the frame- ,, is B carries a sector B '.
provided with a den- ii ,, re b ' having its center of curvature at the midpoint of the axle -1, cienture which, as is #cTra ci -after, is constantly engaged with -a power take-off organ arranged on k. bar F which connects the front axle fi, the rear axle.
The rear end comprises the G axle bearing IP, # wheels 7. In the middle of this key, axle is enimaliellé with a pivot, vertical H bearing to its (- ,. tr # -bottom end, a horizontal sleeve I forming. bearing for the rear end of h) connection bar F.
The hindquarters J chassis is formed by the plague of the artillery material à transported. This platform has a J ' crapaudine which, in the transport position will have its axis coincident with the geometrical axis of the pivot IL On the platform < B> J is mounted the actual KI carriage bearing, projecting from below. a TU pivot engaged in the J '.
At the front the form wound J has a toothed sec- tor.j. a # -ant its center of curvature on the geometric axis of the pivots K ' and H, which passes through the middle of the rear axle G, L'or, - , -ine of prkiié power take-off, dis posed on the.
hollow bar F, and which allows the two front and rear axles to describe the same angle and on the same side of the axis of this bar, comprises a sleeve L mounted idle on said bar F and carrying < B> at its ends two pimions L 'and V of different diameters, the ratio of the number of teeth of the sprockets being equal to the ratio of the spokes, of c < / B> kD 1 the toothing b ' and the toothed sector j.
The movement of the engine installed on the chassis B of the front axle is transmitted to the wheels a in the usual way, via a differential (lion shown). The transmission of the engine movement to the rear wheels is effected by means of a vertical shaft M, carrying an eonic pinion ni, said shaft passing in the axis of the pivot Ez the pinion w meshes with a bevel pinion îè. wedged at the front end of a rotating N shaft in the hollow bar F.
The rear end of the N shaft is connected, by a universal joint, to an intermediate shaft 0. it - even connected, by a joint to the eirdan o, to the differential P. by which the movement is lr.iiizmi, to the wheels g of the rear axle .
It can be seen that a transverse oscillation of the rear end relative to to the connection bar F, can take place by angular rotation of the sleeve I on the rear part d e this bar. while the fore-end to move transversely to #qvc ,, the bar F.
In order to prevent the the return of gravity of the rear end assembly and the load it carries from undergoing too great a displacement during steering movements, relative to ù the connection bar F, a removable retaining member has been placed on the mount K which, while allowing transverse oseillgtions of the mount relative to to the bar, however, prevents any lateral deviation from to the axis of the latter.
This retaining member is constituted by a removable register bleQ (fig. 4), built into a lo-emen # provided at the rear of < I> the carriage K, and which comes to its lower end in the shape of a fork, hook onto the kirre F:
this register is provided with a point, n # c, q at its upper end, and it can be immobilized, in its positions of use and non-use, -by -a lock B carried by the hide, and can be-, (,, aç, er at will in one or the other of two -1 #I uncoclies q '(I' provided in said register Q. The simultaneous deflection of the two trains can be obtained in the known manner,
as shown in section in fig. 7 and in plan fig. 2 and 5.
The orientation movement transmitted by the steering mechanism D results in a pin 8 carried by a shaft s supported by a console integral with the frame B. A chain T, attached by its ends t t ' to the bar F, rotates on the pinion S and on a second pinion, S ', wedged on a shaft e supported by another bracket carried by the frame B.
The traction exerted by the pinion 8 on the. chain T, attached to the bar F, which is prevented from turning, determines the deflection of the front end and, by means of the teeth b ' and of the power take-off member, the steering of the toothed sector j and, consequently, that of the rear axle.
The assembly of the carriage K and the platform J must be able to be positioned easily on the assembly of the front axle carrying the engine, the hollow bar F with its power take-off member L'w - LL 'and the rear end and must be able to be pulled out in the same way, by a simple maneuver. A this effect, the J platform chassis of the rear axle door, on each of its sides longiii:
i- final, des. ribs (the guide J \ between which they engage, during - the installation of the load, the plates G '- carried by the axle G On the other hand, a directing groove J ', concentric with the toothed sector j (fig. 1 and 4), is formed on the platform J . Through the bottom of this groove, the J plaieform comes to rest on a roller ît, carried by an arm U, integral with the bar F.
Another arm, M, also integral with said bar, carries a roller u # engaged in a guiding groove z # in an arc of a circle of the sector B 'attached under the frame B of the front- train.
To operate the removal of the load, it suffices as shown in fig.  6,  to have the jacks V  and  V 'under the platform  J,  and to lift, by means of these jacks, said platform. The part of the vehicle formed by the front end and  the  bar F is then moved away from the rear end until the wheels (,  of the hindquarters come in the position indicated in phantom, in   g ';
  we can then move the jacks V ', to bring them to the position indicated in phantom lines V2 to </ B > the rear of the rear axle, which allows said part of the vehicle to be completely moved away.
The load, instead of resting directly on the rear axle, can also y be supported by means of suspension springs. A variant of this kind is represented, by two partial sections, in FIGS. 8 and 9 where these suspension springs- are designated by G2, the axle G of the rear -train carrying-, as before, plates # tes G 'engaging between guiding ribs J2 of the phitef elm J.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS.  10  and  11,  the hindquarters is formed by the. wheel set of a boom carriage. The  J  lookout arrow is fitted out, as was the  J  platform in the example of fig.  1 to 7 ' to come to rest, by a groove P.rqué  J',  formed on the stock plate, on a g # ilei ît carried by an arm U integral with the hollow bar F;
the stock plate carries, on the other hand, a toothed sector j in engagement with the pinion V of the gearbox member. The transmission of motion from the engine to the wheels < B> 9 of the rear end or train: is done exactly as was done, in the example of fig. 1 to 7, the transmission of movement to the rear wheels, via an AT shaft placed in the hollow bar F.
In this example, as in the example of Figs. 1 to: î, the teeth of the toothed sectors V and j, instead of being mées projecting on the cutting edge of the sectors, are; formed cry lateral protrusion on the corresponding sec tors.
In the example of fig. 10 and 11.1 if we want to separate from the artillery equipment the assembly formed by the front end carrying the engine and by the bar F, < / B> it suffices to create a support at the arrow J, by means of a jack, then to withdraw the axis of the joint to the universal joint W and unscrew a TV stop nut, placed at the end of the shaft N. </ I > We can then move the front end and the bar F which drives the shaft N. The pivot H, with the sleeve I that it carries, remain retained on the axle G, by nut H '.
Figs. 1'2 and 13 show, in elevation and in partial plan, a variant of detail of the example which has just been described.
In this variant, the toothed sector j and the arcuate groove J ' are formed on a part J', independent of the arrow J, and in which, the, butt plate thereof is castrated for transport; this independent J ' part can, when the material is separated (the front end and the bar F, be retained on the latter by means of two rods connection J ". These rods occupy, during the transport. the position indicated in solid lines where they are keyed, on the bar F.
To immobilize the part J ' on bar F when the material is removed, the said rods are brought to the position indicated in phantom lines, by keying them to ears J 'formed on part J4.
