La, présente invention a pour objet un protecteur pour chapeau, permettant de re couvrir instantanément toutes les parties d'un chapeau susceptible d'être mouillées par la pluie. Il est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une enveloppe en tissu imperméable, ayant la forme du chapeau et dentelée à sa périphé rie, les dents ayant un ourlet dans lequel un organe de traction au moyen duquel on peut rapprocher les extrémités des dents les unes des autres pour fixer le protecteur au cha peau, le tout pouvant se replier et se porter en poche en cas de non-emploi.

Le couvre-chapeau représenté en fig. 1 et 2 comprend une enveloppe en tissu imper- méable, découpée et cousue de manière à avoir un fond et un bord. Le bord 1 est dentelé sur son pourtour. Les dents 2 sont trapézoï dales. Le bout 3 des dents 2 est replié et cousu pour former un ourlet 5. Un lacet 4 qui pourrait être remplacé par un organe de traction quelconque est engagé dans ces our lets 5, ses deux extrémités sortant dans un même entre-dents comme indiqué en fia. 2.
La fabrication du protecteur montré est des plus simples: le fond 6 de l'enveloppe et le bord 1 sont découpés dans un seul morceau de la pièce de tissu imperméable; on façonne le bord comme indiqué, et on rapporte par couture la, partie latérale 7.
Le protecteur replié se porte dans la poche. Lorsqu'il pleut, on le développe, on l'applique sur le chapeau, le bord dentelé en dépassant le bord. En tirant sur les deux ex trémités du lacet 4, la partie dentelée se rabat sous le chapeau comme indiqué dans l'exem ple de la fig. 3, fixant de cette façon le pro tecteur en place; le chapeau se trouve dès lors recouvert dans toutes ses parties suscep tibles d'être mouillées. La fig. 3 montre une autre forme de cha peau 8 à laquelle est également adapté un pro tecteur selon l'invention.
