The present invention relates to a reflux distillation device, an extension coupling part for a reflux distillation device and a method for producing an extension coupling part of the steam guide tube of a reflux distillation device with a rotary drive for coupling with an evaporator.
This enables distillation to be carried out under total reflux. Solutions can be degassed very well under reflux and Soxhlet extractions can be carried out. A very wide range of distillations can therefore be carried out under vacuum or under normal pressure.
With regard to the purity of the sample, very high demands are placed on this device. The conventional reflux devices for laboratory rotary evaporators have the disadvantage of installing the seal on the piston side that traces of abrasion of the seal can contaminate the solution. Furthermore, the conventional systems work with a standing steam guide tube, which is firmly connected to the distributor, and a rotating seal. This combined glass part is very expensive in the event of signs of wear at the radial sealing point, when replacing, and also has the disadvantage that a dead hollow volume is created at the point of fusion of the distributor / steam guide tube, i.e. one cannot work with these systems entirely without losses in the reflux distillation.
It is also very desirable from the user that normal standard evaporators can be converted to reflux distillation very simply and inexpensively. Conventional laboratory rotary evaporators cannot be retrofitted because they result in significantly higher costs. Such a universal distillation device that meets today's needs of the user is still unknown.
The present invention therefore aims to create a distillation device that is as universal as possible, in particular on rotary evaporators, which can be easily, quickly and inexpensively adapted to the corresponding application and also works purely, ie without contamination, and totally without loss.
Such a reflux distillation device is characterized by the wording according to claim 1.
Further preferred designs are claimed in claims 2 to 6.
The invention is subsequently explained, for example, using a drawing. Show it:
1 shows a section through the reflux distillation device with rotary drive, steam guide tube and rotary piston,
Fig. 2 shows a section according to Fig. 1 in a detail with the transition section, the distributor, the reduction, the steam pipe and the seal.
The reflux distillation device shown in FIG. 1 has a rotary drive 3 with a toothed belt drive wheel 20, which drives a steam guide tube 4 via a drive hub 7. A rotary piston 8 is fastened at one end of the steam guide tube 4 by means of a piston closure 10. At the other end of the steam pipe 4, a tubular extension coupling part 21 is melted. The free end of this part 21 is bordered by an internally conical transition piece, a reduction 5.
This reduction 5, together with the extension coupling part 21, is the actual connection between a distributor 2 and the steam guiding pipe 4, the reduction 5 on the side of the steam guiding pipe 4 overlapping and opening into the inside diameter of the extension coupling part 21 of the steam guiding pipe 4, so that it flows back no liquid is lost in the substance. For this reason, the inner diameter of the extension coupling part 21 is specially shaped and the two diameters shown are the same size. These determine the smallest cross-section of the return flow. This serves to prevent a dead volume and to increase the inside diameter so that there are no losses in the distillation performance of the reflux system.
Experiments have shown that in a reflux system based on the countercurrent principle, in which the vapors flow from the rotary piston 8 into a condensation cooler 11 and the condensed substance flows from the cooler 11 into the piston 8 when the shut-off valve 1 is closed, the system does not fall below a certain minimum flow cross-section may. For this reason, the extension coupling part 21 of the steam guide tube 4 at the overlap point with the reduction 5 has been locally expanded or shaped at least by a rolling or grinding process. The reduction 5 is specially guided in a tube 17.
Reactions under reflux usually take place in a modern evaporator under vacuum. For this reason, the backflow device must be provided with static and dynamic sealing points.
The particular difficulty with this construction lies in the fact that, as shown in FIG. 2, the extension coupling part 21 of the steam guide tube 4 has to be formed on the one hand because of the problem mentioned in the inside diameter, and on the other hand, the outside diameter has to be precisely calibrated or locally at the radial sealing point of a vacuum seal 6 must be rolled.
This double-sided processing of a glass tube is an extremely difficult problem to solve. However, it can be functionally and technically flawlessly solved by the present invention. The remaining parts of the steam pipe 4, e.g. the cone cuts correspond to the standard dimensions of a steam pipe. For this reason, it has become possible for the first time to additionally attach a replaceable reflux distillation device with a rotary drive 3 to a standard evaporator.
By tightening a screw connection 12, the distillation device according to FIG. 1 is sealed at the static sealing points: an O-ring 9 and a flange 14 of the vacuum seal 6. This means that absolute pressures against 1 mbar can be generated in the system.
When the solution in the rotary piston 8 is degassed or the extraction is running, the shut-off valve 1 with the valve piston 15 can be opened. The condensed liquid then runs out of the cooler 11 via the distributor 2 into the collecting piston 13. The valve piston 15 of a shut-off valve 1 is rotationally fixed when the valve is opened and closed. Furthermore, an inlet pipe 16 for feeding the substance in the rotary piston 8 is guided radially through the valve piston 15.
