Cette machine est caractérisée en ce qu'elle comprend, en combinaison: des moyens de guidage de l'article en bande constitués par deux rouleaux de guidage entre lesquels passe ledit article; une bande transporteuse de celui-ci et un troisiéme rouleau sur lequel s'appuient tangentiellement ladite bande et ledit article, le troisiéme rouleau étant situé à la suite des deux rouleaux de guidage; des moyens d'entraînement de l'article, constitués par deux cylindres d'entraînement qui coopérent avec la bande transporteuse pour entraîner l'article en bande et l'enrouler définitivement;
The present invention relates to a machine for cutting and winding articles in strips, making it possible to obtain, at the same time as a perfect edging and possible division of the article, a winding of irreproachable regularity on its edges.
Any strip article contains, in particular if it is a knitted fabric with a mesh, irregularities which produce variations in the alignment of the edges, variations which are reflected, in turn, in the natural irregularities which are observed. encounter in the windings of these fabrics. These irregularities manifest themselves, for the most part, if necessary, when it is desired to divide a fabric longitudinally into two or more pieces, of the same length but of reduced width, because, since the cutting is not carried out at the same time and winding, it is inevitable to obtain some deviations of the line of cut from the edges or lines of the fabric which already have defects in themselves.
In general, to obtain a perfect winding, two operators are placed, one on each side of the piece of fabric being rolled up, who alternately spread the fabric sideways to correct the deviations they observe and to obtain, in the as far as possible, a regular winding, which does not give sufficiently exact results.
The machine which is the object of the present invention makes it possible to obtain, in addition to perfect winding, the longitudinal cut of the selvedges and the division of the piece of fabric, over its entire length, into two pieces, bands, fringes. or bands, or more.
This machine is characterized in that it comprises, in combination: means for guiding the strip article constituted by two guide rollers between which said article passes; a conveyor belt thereof and a third roller on which the said belt and said article bear tangentially, the third roller being located after the two guide rollers; means for driving the article, consisting of two driving cylinders which cooperate with the conveyor belt to drive the article as a strip and wind it up definitively;
means for cutting said article, which consist of a plurality of circular and driving blades, said cutting means lying between the guide means and the driving means and being intended to make several longitudinal cuts in said strip piece; a rod mechanism for adjusting the transverse position of the blades, the supports of which are independently articulated around a shaft having the same axis as said rod, a handle for manually actuating said rod and a mechanism operable from the outside to make tilting the guide rollers, so as to subject them to axial displacements which make it possible to correct the deviations during the advancement of the strip article.
The set of circular blades can be formed by a central blade whose cutting line coincides with the longitudinal axis of advance of the strip article, and by two edge cutting blades arranged symmetrically with respect to the previous one, the position of which can be modified by means of a rod comprising two zones threaded in opposite directions, onto which are screwed two radially immobile nuts, integral with the respective supports of the blades and of the same axis as the tilting shaft, said rod being Maneuverable by hand using a handle or lever.
Preferably, each blade is rotatable in a groove of a planar counter-blade, the lower face of which bears on the endless conveyor belt, and on the upper face of which is mounted the strip article, one of the strips. sides of said counter blade comprising an inclined plane for lifting and separating a portion of said severed article. To facilitate the mounting of the article in strip and its progression, on the upper face of the two parts of the counterblade, the receiving end of said article of the counterblade is preferably tapered.
According to another preferred embodiment of the invention, the support of each blade comprises a transparent viewfinder, substantially parallel to the strip article, moving with the support on a graduated rule, making it possible to view the transverse position at any time. of the cut line relative to the strip article.
As an inherent advantage of the features described, it should be observed the ease of adaptation of the described machine to fully automatic processes, replacing the manual action of the operator to correct the longitudinal deviations of the edges of the fabric by means such as servo-mechanisms acting on the correction rod, for example, controlled by feeler or photoelectric detectors, which detect said deviations.
One embodiment of the machine. object of the invention, is shown by way of example in the accompanying drawing in which:
Fig. I schematically represents the machine according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a section, along a vertical plane, of one of the circular blades and of the elements of the machine which are attached to it.
Fig. 3 is a cross section of the counter blade and part of the corresponding blade, and
fig. 4 is a simplified perspective view of the machine according to the invention.
The machine according to the example shown comprises a frame I supporting two side members 2 comprising. at each rear end, a notch 3 to receive a transverse bar 4, as well as two shafts 5 and 6 intended for two guide rollers 7 and 8.
On the other hand, a frame 10 comprises arms 11 through which pass the extensions of the shafts 5 and 6. In the same frame 10 bear the shafts 12 and 1 2a intended for the auxiliary rollers 13 and 13a, the two other shafts 14 and 15 of the drive rolls 16 and 17. a partially threaded shaft 18 for supporting and articulating the blades 19, a cross member 20 and a drive shaft 21 coupled to an electric motor, not shown.
Between the auxiliary roller 13 and the drive cylinder 16 is an endless belt 22 which embraces the width of the fabric to be wound up and cut. The connection between the cylinder 16 and the fabric which constitutes the strip 22 is ensured by trapezoidal belts 23 coupled to pulleys 24, the fixing being carried out by means of nails. Likewise, it should be observed, in particular in FIGS. I and 2, the presence of the third roller 13a with radial guidance and axially free. whose role is to give a certain convexity to the corresponding section of the endless belt 22.
The shafts 14 and 15 of the drive rolls 16 and 17 comprise two pulleys 25 and 26 on which a belt 27 passes which also passes through another pulley 28 wedged on the motor shaft 21.
The shaft 6 of the guide roller 8 comprises a rack toothing 29 which meshes with a pinion 30 wedged on the shaft 31 which rests in supports 32 of the frame 10 and ends with a manual operating crank 33.
Each circular blade 19 is duly protected by a casing 34 in which it is articulated by ball or roller bearings and in which its relative position can be adjusted in height by moving its bearing boxes 35 on the slides 36, as it is. is shown in dashed lines in FIG. 2, the desired position being fixed by means of the grub screw 37 integral with the respective box 35. and the nuts and locknuts 38 and 39. A flat base 40 is rigidly secured to said casing 34; it is tapered at one of its ends 41 and has a large longitudinal groove 42 bordered by the two hardened steel counterblades 43 fixed thereto by means of bolts not shown in the figures. It should be observed that the blade 19 remains partially housed in said groove 42 without protruding.
on the other hand, of its anterior base part 44.
To move the blade 19 transversely, one can observe in FIG. 2 that the casing 34 comprises an extension 45 with an open housing 46 in which is housed and radially immobilized a nut 47 with flat faces which fit into said housing and, therefore, prevent it from rotating and prevent it, at the same time, possibly coming out in parallel under the action of a pressure exerted on the stud 48. Said nut 47 is screwed onto the threaded shaft 18, so that any rotation of the latter causes a transverse displacement of the blade 19.
It should also be observed that the lower end of the extension 45 of the casing 34 takes the final working position by contact of the adjustment bolt 49 with the cross member 20, an adjustable position by screwing said more or less. bolt 49 in the direction of the extension 45. Each casing 34 comprises a transparent sight 51 secured by means of one or more bolts 50 comprising a vertical line which substantially coincides with the cutting line and is movable parallel to the cross member 20 comprising, at this end, indications of dimensions which make it possible to determine numerically at any time the relative position of the blade 19 with respect to the tissue.
As shown in fig. 3, each counterblade 43 has a half 52 with a vertical counter-cut line, while the other half 53 has an inclined plane surface 54 to facilitate the expulsion of the strip article 55, a fabric in the this example.
The machine of this example comprises three circular blades 19 all comprising the respective control electric motor 56, among which the central blade is stationary transversely, permanently coinciding with the geometric axis of movement of the fabric 55, while the other two blades 19 , arranged symmetrically with respect to the preceding one, are movable transversely by rotation of the shaft 18 under the action of the flywheel 57, the shaft 18 comprising, for this purpose, two zones threaded in opposite directions, on which are screw the corresponding nuts 47.
The machine operates as follows: a fabric 55 or, in general, a strip article, arranged in the folded state in the frame 1, is placed on the bar 4, passing over the opposite faces of the guide rollers 7 and 8 , on the strip 22 and around a winding mandrel 58 mounted between the drive rolls 16 and 17. If the fabric is to be, in addition, provided with selvages by the two side blades 19, one will tilt towards the up the central blade 19, leaving it inactive, while simultaneously raising the two edges of the fabric 55 on the counter blade 43, as shown in FIG. 3, while the base 44 thereof rests on the endless belt 22.
In the event that said fabric 55 is to be rolled up, it is placed around bar 4.
When the electric motor for controlling the drive rollers 16 and 17 and at the same time the motors 56 of the blades 19 is started, the fabric 55 is driven by movement of the endless belt 22, driven by the first cylinder, the rollers 7 and 8 being driven in rotation and the fabric 55 moving,
The action thereon taking place under optimum conditions by virtue of the presence of the cited free third guide roller, by which said fabric 55 is transported therefrom to the winding mandrel 58 practically without driving tension. By moving towards the rollers 16 and 17, the fabric is subjected to the action of the active blades 19, leaving unusable edges which it expels laterally, for which it is necessary to have previously and exactly fixed the position of said blades 19 by means of the steering wheel 57 above.
The operator who actuates the crank 33 attentively observes the progression of the fabric as it enters the guide rollers 7 and 8 so as to move, if he observes any deviations from it on one side or the other . the crank 33 to make it turn conve
nably the pinion 30, so that it causes a movement to the right or to the left, as appropriate at each moment. At the same time, the rollers 7 and 8 perform an identical movement and the fabric tilts in the same shape to compensate for the positional defects of its edges. In this way, the fabric presents itself with regularly aligned edges and, progressing under the action of the strip 22, undergoes the action of the blades 19 until it reaches the point where it is collected along the line. 'final winding 59.
