Description
Panel for the construction of walls and partitions
The present invention relates to a panel for the construction of walls and partitions, comprising a metal frame consisting of sections of metal profiles of U-shaped cross section and comprising two upper and lower horizontal cross members and vertical uprights established between these cross members. , two of these amounts constituting the side edges of the panel.
The panel according to the invention is characterized in that the sections constituting the crosspieces are arranged so that the channel of the profile opens on the edge of the panel, and in that the sections constituting the uprights are placed end against the web of the sections constituting the sleepers to which they are attached, the channels of the sections constituting the sleepers forming, on the upper and lower edges of the panel, continuous grooves extending over the entire length of the panel and which are open at their ends.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the panel which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing, in a separate position, various elements of a metal frame of the panel.
Fig. 2 is an elevational view of the panel, with a partial vertical section.
Fig. 3 is a section taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 is a detail view of a variant.
The panel shown comprises a metal frame A formed by sections of metal profiles of U-shaped cross section. This frame comprises an upper horizontal cross member 1, a lower horizontal cross member 2, and vertical uprights 3, 4 and 5 arranged between these two sleepers.
The sections constituting the crosspieces 1 and 2 are arranged so that the channel C of the profile (fig. 1) opens onto the edge of the panel. The sections constituting the uprights 3, 4 and 5 are placed at the end against the sleepers, to which they are welded as indicated at 6 (fig. 2), against the outer face of the web of the sleepers.
The uprights 3 and 5 constitute the side edges of the panel. Their channel C also opens on the edge of the panel (fig. 1). The upright 4 constitutes a central spacer in the panel. The uprights 3, 4 and 5 are arranged so that the wings of the profiles are parallel to the faces of the panel which comprises, on one face, a covering plate 10 of wood or chipboard fixed by screws on the wings of the panels. profiles.
The interior space of the frame is lined with a heat-insulating material 11, a mat of glass fibers for example, and the other side face of the panel is formed by a trim plate constituted by a support mesh 12, metal. or plastic, and by an outer layer 13 of plaster, cement or similar material, the assembly being fixed to the frame by screws, or glued to this frame.
Channel C of cross members 1 and 2 constitutes on the upper and inner edges of the panel grooves R1 and R2 (Fig. 2) continuous extending from end to end over the entire length of the panel and which are open at their ends.
The upper groove R1 constitutes a housing intended to receive a beam 8 bringing together various contiguous panels and on which will rest the trusses or side members for a roof or an upper floor.
The lower groove R2 makes it possible to fit the lower edge of the panel onto a tubular metal profile 9 which will be fixed in an appropriate manner to a floor or base, this profile common to several contiguous panels ensuring their alignment. Two adjoining panels can also be joined to each other by fastening devices such as that shown at 14 (fig. 3) comprising a rod 15 with two threads of opposite directions engaged in holes of the uprights. juxtaposed. A notch 16 cut in the wing of an upright allows screwing of the rod with a suitable tool.
In a variant, shown in FIG. 4, the uprights are assembled to the sleepers by means of transverse metal angles 7 placed in the angle defined by the webs of the assembled sections.
The panel shown can easily be mass-produced in the workshop, in a few standard sizes.
Its transport to the assembly site does not present any difficulty and the assembly of the adjoining panels, by means of beams or through bars engaged in the upper and lower grooves, allows the rapid assembly of the walls, walls or partitions, included in constructions of various shapes.
The manufacture of the panel can optionally be automated and the installation can be entrusted to non-specialized workers.
The metal profiles constituting the frame giving a great resistance to the panel, they can be in all metals: iron, aluminum, etc.
