Montre-bracelet

Wristwatch
The present invention relates to a wristwatch.
This wristwatch is characterized by the fact that its box, of massive appearance, is of generally elongated and arched shape, its base being arranged so as to be able to be applied on the upper face and on the internal rounding of the wrist, its upper face being strongly convex and having at least one off-center aperture, allowing an oblique reading, located in a plane inclined with respect to the plane of the movement, the axis of the latter being inclined with respect to the face of the case being applied on the upper face of the wrist, the time indicating members being constituted by discs rotating in the plane of the movement, each provided with a frustoconical peripheral rim carrying the indications to be displayed, and by the fact that these coaxial discs are partially engaged in each other,
the top of the frustoconical peripheral part of one being covered by the lower edge of the peripheral part of that which surmounts it, the arrangement being such that the set of frustoconical peripheral parts of the indicators substantially forms a cone mantle to which the plane of said window is tangent.
It should be noted that we know of wristwatches including the box, of massive appearance. has a strongly concave base and a strongly domed upper face. However, such watches are not arranged so as to be able to rest both on the upper face of the wrist and on its internal roundedness.
but on the contrary mainly on said rounding.
Timepieces are also known in which the time indicating members are formed by dials having, at their periphery, frustoconical parts. These dials are covered by a cover provided with a window through which their indications appear, carried by said frustoconical parts. However, this arrangement has the disadvantage of occupying a great height, which does not make it usable for a wristwatch.
The object of the present invention is to provide a watch whose time indications are carried by frustoconical members, appearing through a window of the case located outside the center thereof, facing the wearer when the watch is placed at both on the upper side and on the internal roundness of the wrist.
The drawing represents, by way of example. an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. I is a perspective view of this embodiment of a wristwatch, shown in position on the wrist of the wearer.
Fig. 2 is a median longitudinal section of said watch, on a larger scale, and
fig. 3 is a sectional view of a detail of FIG. 2, on an even larger scale.
The case of the watch shown comprises a solid body 1, in the form of a strongly domed cap, in which is formed a central recess 2 intended to contain the movement 3 provided with its indicator members for seconds 4, minutes 5, hours 6. , dates 7 and days of the week 8. This recess 2 is closed by a screwed bottom 9, substantially flat.
The cap 1 constituting] th body of the box has horns for fixing the bracelet, designated by 10 (Fig. 1). Its base 11 is strongly concave so as to be able to apply to the internal rounding, designated by 12 in FIG. 1, of the wrist 13 of the wearer of the watch.
In this regard, it should be noted that the bottom 9 of the box is embedded in the thickness of the cap I and does not substantially protrude on the concave face 1 i thereof.
The upper face 14 of the cap 1 is strongly domed, its intersection with the longitudinal median plane of the watch forming an arc of a circle, the center of which has been shown at 15 in FIG. 2. This upper face 14 is pierced by a window 16, off-center, located in a plane 17 inclined relative to the general plane of the movement 3. This window 16 is closed by a glass 18 housed in the very thickness of the case body. 1.
Indicator members 4 to 7 each consist of a flat disc having, at its periphery, a frustoconical part. The arrangement is such that these discs are partially engaged with one another, their frustoconical peripheral part partially overlapping; the indications to be displayed which they bear, represented by strong lines 19. 20. 21 and 22 in FIG. 3, appear on the uncovered zone of each of said peripheral parts.
These discs form, as a whole, a frustoconical cap surmounting the movement, substantially tangent to the plane of the window 15. The axis 23 of the movement does not coincide with a radius of the circle formed by the intersection of the upper face 14 of the cap. 1 with the median longitudinal plane of the watch: this axis 23 is parallel with the radius, designated by 24, of this circle, passing through the top of the cap.
As for the indicator member 8 for the dates, it is constituted by a crown rotatably mounted on the movement plate 3 and which has a frustoconical peripheral part located under the frustoconical peripheral part of the disc 7 of the days of the week. The latter is pierced with a series of openings 25, only one of which is visible in FIG. 1, through which the date indications 26 appear.
The generally elongated and arched shape of the watch described and shown, and its unusual length which allows it to cover not only the internal rounding 12 of the wrist, but to extend over the upper face of the latter, give it an all-round appearance. very much.
In addition, the position of window 16 in front of the axis of the movement places this window directly under the gaze of the user so that the displayed indications are very easily readable, especially for a motorist driving his car.
