Lock provided with an alarm installation intended for locking a window or door leaf The present invention relates to a lock intended for locking a window or door leaf fitted with an alarm installation and responding to break-in forces to report an unauthorized break-in attempt.
The general idea of a combination of a lock and a switch to produce a signal in response to burglary forces has long been known. In the past, however, the actual use of these devices has been very limited. This is due in part to the complexity and the considerable cost of these devices. Perhaps more important still was the fact that special and important structural modifications had to be made to the chambers or other enclosures to be protected. Special locations had to be formed in the doors, windows and their frames to accommodate the locking device.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate these drawbacks. The lock according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one lock intended to be mounted in a recess of the frame of the leaf, a handle actuating the lock and intended to be mounted on the leaf, connecting members between the handle and the lock.
an anchoring member of the advanced lock comprising a guide block provided with a channel, a slide fitted without play in this channel and movable back and forth along the latter, this slide being provided with the opening intended to receive the lock and opening in the direction of the channel in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the sliding movement of the slide, a spring being placed in the channel and directed against the slide in order to move the latter in the direction of a the ends of the channel, a switch being mounted on the guide block,
and an arm extending from the slide towards the switch for actuation thereof in response to movement of the slide towards the opposite end of the channel.
The appended drawing shows by way of example an embodiment of the lock which is the subject of the present invention.

As shown in fig. 1 and 2, a pivoting window 370 comprises a glazing 372 and a frame 374. The frame 374 is hollow and provided with a handle 376 and a key lock 378. The window 370 opens outwards. in the direction of arrow A. To lock the window 370 in its closed position, a latch 382 is provided at the bottom and top of the window in the edge of its frame 374. These latches are retracted and protruded by the handle 376, and when they are protruding, these locks 382 extend inside anchors 384 and 386 made in the top and bottom of the frame 380 respectively. When the lock 378 is actuated, the latches 382 are secured in the protruding position so that the window is effectively rusty.
Referring now to FIG. 1, the frame 374 has a rear channel and a front channel 388 and 390 which, when assembled, form an empty passage extending from the bottom to the top of the window. Guide blocks 392 are provided at the top and bottom of frame 374. These guide blocks have holes passing through them and allowing latches 382 to extend and retract out and into window 370. Locks 382 are fixed to plates 394 near the center of the frame 374 inside the profiles 388 and 390, in a hollow cover 387. Each of these plates is provided with a rack 396 yes is engaged with an actuating pinion 398 .
The pinion 398 is connected by means of a coupling 400 to the handle 376 so that it is actuated by means of the latter. By turning the handle 376, the pinion 398 is pivoted causing the upward displacement of one of the racks 396 and the downward displacement of the other rack, thus causing the protrusion or the retraction of the latches 382 simultaneously. . When the locks are in their forward position. an opening 402 in one of the plates 394 is in alignment with the latch 404 actuated by the lock 378.
When the lock is operated while the latches 382 are in their advanced position. the lock 404 passes through the opening 402 thus causing the locks 382 to be locked in their locked position.
As shown in f; ç. 3, the anchor hole 386 is provided with a cylindrical housing 316 embedded in an orifice that has the threshold 304 of the window and has flush with this threshold a rim 318 provided with several mounting holes 320 allowing fixing the anchoring member 386 to the threshold 304. When the latch 382 is in its lowest position as illustrated in FIG. 4, it penetrates through the opening 314 into the anchoring member 386. This makes it possible to fix the latch 382, and in this way the window 370, to the anchoring bar 386 thus causing the locking of the window. 370 on threshold 304.
The anchor 386. in addition to serving as an attachment for the latch 382. also serves as a detector of any force applied to the window 370 tending to move the latch in a direction corresponding to the opening of the window. To this end, a slide 340 is provided inside the cylindrical housing 316 of the anchoring member 386. As illustrated in FIG. 6 the slide 340 is movable in a horizontal direction forward and backward within a channel 342 extending diametrically through the guide block 344 and is engaged without play in the cylindrical housing 316. The slide 340 is provided with a bore 346 which receives the latch 382 when it is in the advanced position.
The slide 340 is guided in these forward and backward movements inside the channel 342 in the guide block 341. It thus appears that the bore 346 of the slide 340 moves forward and backward immediately below the opening. 314 formed in the flange 318 of the anchoring member 386. This opening 314 itself is elongated so as to allow the latch 382 to move forward and backward a small amount when the window 370 is forced in. direction of arrow A (fig. 1).
This displacement will cause a displacement of the slide 340 over a sufficient distance to cross the clearance B (fig. 3) existing between the edge of the hole 3-16 of the slide 340 and one of the ends of the elongated opening. 31-l formed in the rim 318 of the anchoring member 386. This movement of the slide 3-10 opposes the action of a compression spring 350 placed between the slide and the internal surface of the cylindrical housing 316.
Note that window 370 can be forced toward an open position only by a force sufficient to counteract the resistance of springs 350 when locking assembly 378 is locked; and even in the event that the force exceeds that of the spells 350, the window cannot be moved a distance greater than the distance B and then the latch 382 will then contact the end of the elongated opening 314 and will prohibit any subsequent movement.
As shown in fig. 6, the slide 340 is provided with an upwardly extending tab 351. This tab engages an arm 352 of an electrical contact 354 which is mounted on the lower surface of the guide block 34-1. The tab 351 moves forward and backward within the groove 356 formed in the bottom of the guide block 344.
With reference to FIG. 5. it is seen that the spring 350 tends to move the slide 340 in a direction such that the tab 351 thereof actuates the arm of the switch @ 352 in a direction such as this. contact arm presses against a contact 358 of the switch 354 itself. The arm of the switch 352 is made of a resilient material such as spring steel and is normally spaced from the contact 358. The force of the spring 350 greatly exceeds the force, due to the inherent elasticity of the control arm. contact 352, and thus maintains the latter against contact 358.
When, however, a breaking force is imposed on the window 370 and is sufficient to exceed the resistance of the spring 350, the slide 340 will move outwards against the action of the spring 350 and withdraw the tab 351 out of contact. with the arm of the switch 352. This movement allows the arm of the switch 352 to move in the direction opposite to the contact 358 and thus causes the actuation of the switch 354.
As shown in fig. 4, wires 360 connect the electrical switch 354 through an opening 362 made in the bottom of the cylindrical housing 316 to remote alarm means to cause the actuation thereof in response to the alarm. 'actuation of switch 354.
In this way, a combination of a locking and alarm device is produced which makes it possible to obtain a maximum degree of security. It should obviously be noted that the upper anchoring member 384 may be identical to the lower anchoring member 386 so as to ensure that any attempted break-in either at the top or at the bottom of the window 370 causes the resonance of an alarm.
It should be noted that the arrangement described in FIGS. 3 to 6 is very compact and simple in construction and provides substantial protection and automatic reporting of any attempt to demonstrate or remove the locking device.
