Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a mechanism that can be adapted to doors and particularly to those serving as an emergency exit in order to allow control thereof.
Indeed, if these in the event of an emergency or fire must open by a simple push in order to allow the rapid evacuation of the people who are inside, it is however often desirable, in the normal conditions of use of the premises, that we can control the opening of these exits, in order to avoid fraudulent exits or access by an accomplice already inside.
To ensure this control, the currently known embodiments have the object of blocking the handle, or the thrust plate or the bar called "panic bar" which normally actuates the clearing of the bolt and the opening of the door. However, a difficulty arises when, in a panic, the crowd suddenly moves towards the door. In fact, in these devices, the command to erase the bolt is only made possible after prior tilting of the blocking member which, in the active position, immobilizes it against any pivoting. If due to crowd pressure a continuous force is exerted on the lever, the latter maintains in mutual engagement the lever and the locking member, so that the subsequent action on the latter by mechanical or electrical control , does not always allow to separate these two elements, the lever remaining stuck, preventing the door from opening. There is a risk that the emergency exit, being blocked, may no longer be used in the event of an accident with the irreversible consequences that may result.
In the present invention, the door is kept closed by immobilizing a bolt held in its keeper by means of an electromagnet, of the suction cup type, under tension.
An electrical power cut generated either by the fire detection device or by any other alarm system or simply by a guard is sufficient for the electromagnet to cease its holding action. Then the bolt, whose profile is double slope, slides along its strike and disappears under the action of a push of the door which opens effortlessly.
- FIG. 1 represents an exploded view in the unlocked position,
- FIG. 2 represents an exploded view in the unlocked position,
- Figures 3 to 6 show, in top view, different phases of the opening of a door.
On plate n ° I are represented (in partial exploded view) the main parts of a practical embodiment of the invention.
We therefore see in fig. 1 the holding electromagnet whose
However, we also see that the upper part is provided with a
The diagrams in Figures 3 to 6 clearly show the mode of operation of the device; in
In
In Figure 5, door always in the opening and total erasure of the bolt.
In Figure 6, door open but approaching closure.
In FIG. 11, the two bypass wires are shown schematically leading towards glass breakage, fire detection or control station.
