Emballage pour tablettes à consommer, notamment pour tablettes de chewing-gum
La présente invention a pour objet un emballage pour tablettes à consommer notamment pour tablettes de chewing-gum, comprenant un fond supérieur, un fond inférieur, des parois latérales dont l'une présente une fente d'extraction, un organe élastique pressant un empilement de tablettes contenues dans l'emballage contre le fond supérieur et des moyens permettant de déplacer la tablette supérieure de l'empilement pour l'engager dans ladite fente.
Bien que des emballages de ce genre soient déjà connus, on ne les a pas utilisés jusqu'à maintenant pour la présentation des tablettes de chewing-gum, qui sont généralement contenues par groupes de cinq dans des emballages de papier, d'une manipulation peu commode dès qu'ils ont été ouverts.
On connaît, d'autre part, des distributeurs ayant la forme de coffrets rigides capables de contenir un certain nombre d'objets à consommer, par exemple des cigarettes ou des allumettes, et qui sont équipés d'un mécanisme permettant, le plus souvent par une pression sur un bouton, d'extraire partiellement chacun des objets qu'ils contiennent un à un. Or, l'utilisation de tels distributeurs est liée à l'obligation de les remplir périodiquement, opération qui, selon la construction du mécanisme d'extraction peut être laborieuse. En outre, les mécanismes extracteurs des distributeurs connus comprennent en général au moins un levier pivotant et un poussoir, et sont donc relativement encombrants, de sorte que les coffrets présentent des dimensions qui surpassent nettement celles de l'ensemble des objets contenus.
Un distributeur ne constitue donc pas un moyen à la fois pratique, élégant et d'encombrement suffisamment réduit pour la présentation des tablettes de chewing-gum.
La présente invention a pour but la réalisation d'un emballage à jeter susceptible de contenir notamment des tablettes de chewing-gum et présentant les qualités énoncées ci-dessus.
Pour cela, l'emballage selon invention est caractérisé en ce que le fond supérieur est constitué par une plaque mince solidaire des parois latérales et pourvue desdits moyens.
Le dessin annexé représente à titre d'exemple, deux formes d'exécution de l'emballage selon l'invention.

L'emballage représenté à la fig. 1 est dimensionné de façon à contenir une dizaine de tablettes 6 de chewing-gum. Il peut être tenu dans une main et logé dans une poche de vêtement. I1 se compose d'un fond supérieur 1, d'un fond inférieur 2, de deux parois longitudinales 3 et de deux parois transversales 4. Le fond supérieur 1 et les parois 3 et 4 sont venus d'une seule pièce, fabriquée par moulage en une matière plastique relativement rigide qui peut être transparente, translucide ou opaque, selon les cas. Comme on le voit à la fig. 2, les parois 4 présentent chacune une nervure interne 5 qui s'étend selon l'axe longitudinal de la paroi. La distance entre les bords internes de ces nervures est légèrement supérieure à la longueur des tablettes 6, qui sont maintenues empilées entre les parois 3 et 4.
Entre le fond supérieur 1 et l'une des parois 4 est ménagée une fente 7 qui s'étend selon un plan incliné à 450 et dont le bord supérieur est formé par l'arête interne du fond supérieur 1. La hauteur de cette fente est très légèrement supérieure à l'épaisseur d'une des tablettes 6.
Le fond supérieur 1 présente en outre dans sa partie centrale une ouverture allongée 8 dont l'extrémité située du côté de la fente 7 est arrondie alors que l'autre extrémité est formée par un bord biseauté rectiligne 9.
Les bords longitudinaux de l'ouverture 8 sont incurvés de telle façon que la largeur de l'ouverture 8 soit légèrement plus grande dans sa partie arrière voisine du bord 9 que dans sa partie avant.
La pièce formée par les éléments 1, 3 et 4 présente dans ses angles inférieurs quatre tétons 10 qui, lors de la mise en place du fond 2, s'engagent dans des ouvertures 11 que présente ce fond. Celui-ci peut ainsi être fixé définitivement aux parois 3 et 4 par sertissage des tétons 10, après le remplissage de l'emballage.
Le fond 2 présente dans sa face intérieure deux nervures longitudinales 12 qui s'étendent chacune un peu en retrait du bord correspondant, entre deux ouvertures 11 et une nervure transversale centrale 13 dans laquelle est pratiquée une gorge 14 étroite et relativement profonde. Une lame ressort 15 dont les deux extrémités sont engagées dans la gorge 14 occupe une partie de l'espace qui s'étend au-dessus du fond 2, où elle forme une boucle. Cette lame ressort présente une largeur telle qu'elle peut s'engager entre les nervures 12. Comme on le voit à la fig. 2, elle agit par sa partie centrale sur l'empilement des tablettes 6 et les presse contre la face inférieure du fond supérieur 1.
La longueur, I'épaisseur et la constitution de la lame ressort 15 sont déterminées en fonction des dimensions de remballage. Ainsi, on a constaté qu'une lame d'acier ayant environ 2100 de mm d'épaisseur, environ 15 mm de largeur et de longueur telle que, entièrement repliée sur elle-même, elle s'étendait d'une nervure 5 à l'autre, assurait une pression suffisante sur les tablettes 6 pour que la tablette supérieure puisse être facilement déplacée par un mouvement du pouce ou de l'index engagé dans l'ouverture 8 et amenée à sortir partiellement de l'emballage par la fente 7, et cela pour toutes les tablettes successivement.
On remarque que, pour faciliter l'action du doigt sur la tablette supérieure contre la force du ressort 15, le fond supérieur 1 est légèrement oblique par rapport au fond inférieur 2, son extrémité antérieure, du côté de la fente 7 étant légèrement plus écartée que son extrémité postérieure.
Dans la seconde forme d'exécution, l'emballage décrit constitue également un emballage à jeter bien qu'il soit dimensionné pour contenir, par exemple, une vingtaine de tablettes de chewing-gum. Cet emballage a la forme d'un parallélépipède rectangle. I1 comprend un fond supérieur 16, un fond inférieur 17, deux parois longitudinales 18 et deux parois transversales 19. Les parois 18 et 19 sont venues d'une pièce avec des tétons 20 faisant saillie dans leurs angles et les fonds 16 et 17 sont fixés par sertissage, comme le fond 2.
Le fond 17 présente également, comme le fond 2 deux nervures longitudinales 21 et une nervure transversale 22 dans laquelle est pratiquée une gorge 23 qui reçoit les deux extrémités d'une lame ressort 24.
L'une des parois 18 qui forme la paroi antérieure à la fig. 3, présente une fente 25 qui s'étend à fleur de la face inférieure du fond 16. Par ailleurs, cette paroi antérieure présente une face interne lisse alors que les parois transversales 19 présentant chacune une nervure centrale 26 et 27 et que la paroi 18 postérieure présente trois nervures verticales 28, reliées par une nervure horizontale 29, située immédiatement en dessous du niveau du bord inférieur de la fente 25. L'espace compris entre la nervure horizontale 29 et le bord supérieur de la paroi 18 est occupé en partie par une portion du fond supérieur 16 qui comprend un segment de nervure 30 et un bras 31.
Ce dernier s'étend dans le prolongement de la nervure 30 à laquelle il est rattaché, mais comme il est séparé de la partie pleine du fond 16 et s'étend selon une courbe qui aboutit dans la paroi 19 postérieure, il peut être déformé élastiquement et amené à s'étendre le long de la paroi 18 postérieure au-dessus de la nervure 29.
Son extrémité libre qui traverse une fente 32 pratiquée dans la paroi 19 postérieure et qui porte un bouton de manoeuvre 33 logé dans un décrochement 34 de la paroi 19 peut donc être manoeuvrée de l'extérieur. On voit à la fig. 5, que si l'on amène le bouton 33 dans la position représentée en traits mixtes, I'empilement de tablettes 35 n'est plus retenu par le bras 31, et que le ressort 24 le déplace de façon à amener la tablette supérieure en contact avec la partie pleine du fond supérieur 16. Si, à ce moment, on lâche le bouton 33, le bras 31 reprend sa forme naturelle en expulsant la tablette supérieure par la fente 25. Cette tablette prend alors la position représentée en traits mixtes à la fig. 5.
Comme la hauteur de la nervure 30 et de son prolongement 31 est légèrement inférieure à l'épaisseur d'une tablette 35, le mouvement d'extraction n'est pas entravé par les tablettes restantes. En outre, la tablette supérieure qui se présente obliquement à travers la fente 25 reste pincée par son extrémité intérieure entre le fond supérieur 16 et l'empilement de tablettes. Ce n'est que lorsque cette tablette a été retirée que la tablette supérieure de l'empilement est déplacée sous l'action du ressort 25 et vient buter contre le bras 31 du fond supérieur 16.
La disposition décrite permet donc à l'élément d'extraction 31 de fonctionner librement.
L'emballage présenté aux fig. 3 à 5 peut être pourvu de moyens de fixation qui permettent de l'assujettir de façon amovible au tableau de bord d'une voiture, par exemple. Grâce à la simplicité du mécanisme d'extraction qui ne comprend qu'un élément venu de fabrication avec le fond supérieur 16, l'emballage peut être réalisé comme emballage à jeter sans que son prix soit prohibitif.
Packaging for tablets to be consumed, especially for chewing gum tablets
The present invention relates to a packaging for tablets to be consumed in particular for chewing gum tablets, comprising an upper base, a lower base, side walls, one of which has an extraction slot, an elastic member pressing a stack of tablets contained in the packaging against the upper bottom and means for moving the upper shelf of the stack to engage it in said slot.
Although packages of this kind are already known, they have not been used heretofore for the presentation of chewing gum tablets, which are generally contained in groups of five in paper packages, of little handling. convenient as soon as they have been opened.
Distributors are known, on the other hand, in the form of rigid boxes capable of containing a certain number of objects to be consumed, for example cigarettes or matches, and which are equipped with a mechanism allowing, most often by at the press of a button, to partially extract each of the objects they contain one by one. However, the use of such dispensers is linked to the obligation to fill them periodically, an operation which, depending on the construction of the extraction mechanism, can be laborious. In addition, the extractor mechanisms of known distributors generally comprise at least one pivoting lever and a pusher, and are therefore relatively bulky, so that the boxes have dimensions which clearly exceed those of all the objects contained.
A dispenser therefore does not constitute a means that is at the same time practical, elegant and of sufficiently small size for the presentation of chewing gum tablets.
The object of the present invention is to provide a disposable package capable of containing in particular chewing gum tablets and having the qualities stated above.
For this, the packaging according to the invention is characterized in that the upper bottom is constituted by a thin plate integral with the side walls and provided with said means.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the packaging according to the invention.

The packaging shown in fig. 1 is dimensioned so as to contain ten or so tablets 6 of chewing gum. It can be held in one hand and housed in a clothing pocket. I1 consists of an upper base 1, a lower base 2, two longitudinal walls 3 and two transverse walls 4. The upper base 1 and the walls 3 and 4 are made in one piece, manufactured by molding in a relatively rigid plastic material which may be transparent, translucent or opaque, as the case may be. As seen in fig. 2, the walls 4 each have an internal rib 5 which extends along the longitudinal axis of the wall. The distance between the internal edges of these ribs is slightly greater than the length of the shelves 6, which are kept stacked between the walls 3 and 4.
Between the upper base 1 and one of the walls 4 is formed a slot 7 which extends along a plane inclined at 450 and whose upper edge is formed by the internal edge of the upper base 1. The height of this slot is very slightly greater than the thickness of one of the shelves 6.
The upper bottom 1 also has in its central part an elongated opening 8 whose end located on the side of the slot 7 is rounded while the other end is formed by a rectilinear bevelled edge 9.
The longitudinal edges of the opening 8 are curved such that the width of the opening 8 is slightly greater in its rear part near the edge 9 than in its front part.
The part formed by the elements 1, 3 and 4 has in its lower corners four studs 10 which, when the bottom 2 is put in place, engage in openings 11 that this bottom has. The latter can thus be fixed definitively to the walls 3 and 4 by crimping the studs 10, after filling the packaging.
The bottom 2 has in its inner face two longitudinal ribs 12 which each extend a little behind the corresponding edge, between two openings 11 and a central transverse rib 13 in which is formed a narrow and relatively deep groove 14. A leaf spring 15, the two ends of which are engaged in the groove 14 occupies a part of the space which extends above the bottom 2, where it forms a loop. This leaf spring has a width such that it can engage between the ribs 12. As seen in FIG. 2, it acts through its central part on the stack of shelves 6 and presses them against the underside of the upper base 1.
The length, thickness and constitution of the leaf spring 15 are determined according to the dimensions of the repacking. Thus, it was found that a steel blade having about 2100 mm thick, about 15 mm in width and length such that, completely folded on itself, it extended from one rib 5 to the 'other, provided sufficient pressure on the shelves 6 so that the upper shelf can be easily moved by a movement of the thumb or index finger engaged in the opening 8 and made to partially exit the package through the slot 7, and this for all the tablets successively.
Note that, to facilitate the action of the finger on the upper shelf against the force of the spring 15, the upper base 1 is slightly oblique with respect to the lower base 2, its front end, on the side of the slot 7 being slightly further apart than its posterior end.
In the second embodiment, the package described also constitutes a disposable package although it is sized to contain, for example, about twenty tablets of chewing gum. This packaging has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped. I1 comprises an upper base 16, a lower base 17, two longitudinal walls 18 and two transverse walls 19. The walls 18 and 19 come in one piece with studs 20 projecting in their corners and the bases 16 and 17 are fixed. by crimping, like the bottom 2.
The bottom 17 also has, like the bottom 2, two longitudinal ribs 21 and a transverse rib 22 in which a groove 23 is formed which receives the two ends of a leaf spring 24.
One of the walls 18 which forms the front wall in FIG. 3, has a slot 25 which extends flush with the lower face of the bottom 16. Furthermore, this front wall has a smooth internal face while the transverse walls 19 each having a central rib 26 and 27 and the wall 18 posterior has three vertical ribs 28, connected by a horizontal rib 29, located immediately below the level of the lower edge of the slot 25. The space between the horizontal rib 29 and the upper edge of the wall 18 is partly occupied by a portion of the upper bottom 16 which comprises a segment of rib 30 and an arm 31.
The latter extends in the extension of the rib 30 to which it is attached, but as it is separated from the solid part of the bottom 16 and extends according to a curve which ends in the rear wall 19, it can be elastically deformed. and caused to extend along the posterior wall 18 above the rib 29.
Its free end which passes through a slot 32 made in the rear wall 19 and which carries an operating button 33 housed in a recess 34 of the wall 19 can therefore be operated from the outside. We see in fig. 5, that if the button 33 is brought into the position shown in phantom, the stack of shelves 35 is no longer retained by the arm 31, and that the spring 24 moves it so as to bring the upper shelf into position. contact with the solid part of the upper bottom 16. If, at this moment, the button 33 is released, the arm 31 returns to its natural shape by expelling the upper shelf through the slot 25. This shelf then takes the position shown in phantom lines. fig. 5.
As the height of the rib 30 and its extension 31 is slightly less than the thickness of a shelf 35, the extraction movement is not hampered by the remaining shelves. In addition, the upper shelf which presents itself obliquely through the slot 25 remains pinched by its inner end between the upper base 16 and the stack of shelves. It is only when this shelf has been removed that the upper shelf of the stack is moved under the action of the spring 25 and abuts against the arm 31 of the upper base 16.
The arrangement described therefore allows the extraction element 31 to operate freely.
The packaging shown in fig. 3 to 5 can be provided with fixing means which allow it to be releasably attached to the dashboard of a car, for example. Thanks to the simplicity of the extraction mechanism which includes only one component which has been manufactured with the upper bottom 16, the packaging can be produced as disposable packaging without its price being prohibitive.
