Abstract

The present invention relates to a dispenser of thin flexible elements, and especially of plastic bags, of the type comprising a cartridge box 1 which encloses a stack 2 of these elements, as well as a support frame 9 for the box in which the stack 2 is compressed against the access face 3 of this box. According to the invention, the access face 3 of the box 1 has an opening 6a which is prolonged to the front of the box by a cut-out 8a and the support frame 9 has a corresponding opening 26, the dispenser being furthermore equipped with a device for extracting the thin flexible elements which, in a particular embodiment, is constituted by a conveyor belt 32, preferably made of rubber, wound around two rotary rollers 33, 34 which are respectively located beyond the cut-out 8a of the box 1 and above the opening 6a of the latter and which are positioned so as to keep the drive side 32a of the conveyor belt 32 substantially in the plane of the opening 6a of the box 1.   less in part, movable towards said opposite access face, under the applica-

tion of a pressure.

  Such dispensers can have various uses. This is how, in supermarkets, distributors of this type, filled with bags

  or plastic storage pockets, are placed near the crates.

  We know, in this use, all the advantage they present in the fact that the stacking of bags is, whatever its height, kept compressed against the access face of the boot-cartridge, so that the cashier can permanently grab the bags one by one to distribute exactly the number necessary to

  buyers and avoid waste.

  However, the cashiers are not completely satisfied with these distributors, insofar as they impose manual intervention on them which can be complicated by the fact that they are often placed

  in places difficult to access to be out of reach of buyers.

  The present invention proposes to remedy this drawback and, to do this, it relates to a distributor of thin and flexible elements of the type specified in the preamble, which is characterized in that the opening of the access face of the cartridge boot extends to an edge thereof and is extended slightly, by a cutout, on the contiguous front face, while the support mount has a corresponding opening, the distributor being further equipped with a device for extracting thin and flexible elements, capable of grasping them one after the other, through the opening of the access face of the box, and of moving them successively in the direction and beyond of the front cutout, to reject them

  thus automatically out of the dispenser.

  Provided with such an extraction device which can advantageously be motorized, a dispenser according to the invention, loaded with a boot-cartridge of plastic bags, can be placed upstream of the packaging mat

  of a supermarket checkout, so automatically distribute on it

  these bags and therefore lighten the work of the cashier with a manual task

  routine and sometimes restrictive.

  Advantageously, said adhesion means consist of an endless conveyor belt, which has adhesion properties and which is wound and stretched around the two front and rear rotary rollers,

  As will be readily understood, the stacking of thin and flexible elements

  will be permanently compressed against the drive strand of the conveyor belt

  After a full turn, the conveyor belt will pick up and extract the

  Alternatively, however, this conveyor belt can be omitted and the drive mechanism will then consist of several rollers

  By the way, to give maximum reliability to the extraction operation of thin and flexible elements, the front drive roller

  Indeed, each thin element gripped by the conveyor belt will only have to adhere to it for the short distance which separates it from the outlet of the cartridge box where it will then be pinched between the two twin rollers in

  rotation and thus reliably extracted from the dispenser.

  According to another advantageous characteristic of the invention, one

  drive rollers and / or the extraction roller is or are driven

  born by an electric motor connected to an electronic control console with programming keyboard. This provision will be very useful in supermarkets where the keyboard control console can be installed near a cash register to allow the cashier, by a simple press on the appropriate key, to exit the dispenser,

  without leaving its seat, a number of bags chosen according to demand.

  Of course, the first embodiment of the dispenser according to the invention can only function perfectly if the elements to be extracted

  have the property of adhering, even weakly, to rubber or a similar material

  It goes without saying that, just like the electric drive motor of the first embodiment, the jack constituting the motor element of the second embodiment of the invention can be, with the same advantages, controlled

  Advantageously, the extraction device fitted to one or other of the embodiments of the dispenser which is the subject of the invention will be entirely covered with a removable protective cover pierced with a slot or an opening.

  Since the stack of bags 2 is constantly pushed upwards under the action of the compression plate 18 loaded by the springs 19, the highest bag 2a of the stack naturally comes to adhere firmly to the lower strand 32a of the strip drive 32, this adhesion being favored by the presence of the transverse ribs 32b. Consequently, if the motor 40 is started so that it rotates the rollers 33 and 39 in the direction of the arrows A in FIG. 6, the rubber band 32 will in its movement cause the bag 2a held in contact from its lower strand 32a, to move it laterally in the direction of arrow B, through the front cutout 8a of the boot 1 and the part of the opening 26, formed in the front wall 25 of the cover 11 of the shoemaker 9.   FIG. 8 also shows that the rear jaw 48 has a gripping spout 55 tapered towards the front jaw 49 and kept in sliding contact with the upper bag 2a of the stack 2. For its part, the front jaw 49 has a grip surface 56 having a shape

  According to another important characteristic of the invention, the two jaws 48, 49 are joined to one another by a guide bar 57, one end of which is secured to the upper face of the front jaw 49. On the largest part of its length, the guide bar 57 is provided with a horizontal slot 58 in which the rear jaw is retained at free sliding at 48a. Finally, two double-acting cylinders 59, 60 are mounted on the cover 11, behind the opening 26 of the latter and their rods 63 are connected to the support arm 50 of the rear jaw * 11

  We will now describe the functioning of this second

  embodiment of the dispenser according to the invention.

  After the synchronized actuation of the jacks 59, 60, the rear jaw 48 gradually moves in the direction of the front jaw 49, sliding freely in the slot 58 of the guide bar 57, until its gripping beak 55 comes to engage under the flap 2b of the upper bag 2a of the stack 2. Just after, the rear jaw 48 comes into contact with the front jaw 49 and the flap 2b of the bag 2a is thus pinched between the latter two (see figure 9). The rear jaw 48, still subject to the thrust of the two jacks 59, 60, then drives in its movement the front jaw 49 while remaining firmly in contact with the latter, so that the bag 2a, retained by its flap 2b between the two jaws gradually leaves the stack 2 until it is completely extracted from the housing 9 as soon as the two jaws arrive at the end of their travel, on the two slides 52, 53 (broken lines in FIG. 9). The inertia of the front jaw 49 is sufficient to maintain firm contact between the two jaws, given the low thrust exerted by the jacks

  When reaching the free ends of the slides 52, 53, the jaws 48, 49 close a limit switch (not shown), which acts on the supply of the jacks 59, 60 to reverse the direction of movement of their rods 63. Therefore, the rear jaw 48 is returned to its position

For example, in the second embodiment of the invention in which the long cantilevered length of the slides 52, 53 may be capable of preventing complete opening of the cover 11 by pivoting, it may be advisable

  to provide a cover that can be swung vertically into the body 10.

  1. Distributor of thin and flexible elements, and in particular of plastic bags, of the type comprising a cartridge box (1) in which several of these elements are held, in the form of a stack (2), between the bottom (4) of said box (1) and a face (3) for access to its contents, provided with an opening (6a), this dispenser further comprising a support frame (9) for the box (1) provided with a compression plate (18) and loading means (20, 19) to hold the box in abutment, by its bottom, against the compression plate (18) and urge the latter one towards the other, the bottom (4) of the box (1) being, at least in part, movable towards said opposite access face (3), under the application of pressure, characterized in that the opening ( 6a) of the access face (3) of the cartridge box (1) extends to an edge thereof and is extended slightly, by a cutout (8a), on the contiguous front face (7 ), while the support frame (9 ) has a corresponding opening (26),   the distributor being further equipped with a device for extracting the   thin and flexible elements (31), able to grasp one after the other, through the opening (6a) of the access face (3) of the box (1); and to move them successively towards and beyond the front cutout (8a) of it.   2. Dispenser according to claim 1, characterized in that said extraction device (31) comprises a drive mechanism with rotary rollers substantially parallel to each other and perpendicular to the direction of extraction of the thin and flexible elements, these rollers, one of which constitutes a front drive roller (33) situated beyond the cutout (8a) of the box (1) and another of which constitutes a rear drive roller (34) placed above the opening (6a) of the latter, supporting adhesion means (32) which define a drive surface (32a)   extending substantially in the plane of the opening (6a) of the box (1).   3. Dispenser according to claim 2, characterized in that said adhesion means consist of an endless conveyor belt (32), which has adhesion properties and which is wound and stretched around the two front and rear rotary rollers (33, 34), one of the strands   (32a) of this strip (32) constituting said drive surface.   4.Distributor according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that   the front drive roller (33) is combined with a rotary roller of ex-   traction (39) maintained in contact, with possible interposition   of the drive strand (32a) of the conveyor belt (32).   5.
