Mercaptoverbindung her gestellt werden.
Process for the production of new monoazo dyes The main patent no. 370 504 describes the production of monoazo dyes by condensation.
It has now been found that those of these monoazo dyes which do not contain a heavy metal in a complex bond can be obtained by using coupling components of the formula
EMI0001.0006
where X is a halogenated 1,3,5-triazine radical and n is a whole positive number, preferably 1, is combined with diacotized, oxy-group-free aromatic amines.
The starting compounds of the formula (1) can be prepared by customary, per se known methods by condensation of the specified 1-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid with a dihalide of the formula
EMI0001.0016
where Y is an NH2 group, a substituted oxy or mercapto group or the residue of a preferably primary amine having at most 12 carbon atoms,
or by condensation with cyanuric chloride and before or after the coupling with an amine or an oxy or mercapto compound. Suitable dihalides of the formula given and diazo components are those which have already been mentioned in the main patent.
In the following example, unless otherwise stated, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example To a solution of 26.1 parts of the sodium salt of 1-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in 400 parts of water is added an aqueous solution of 34.2 parts of the sodium salt of 6- (3 ' -Sulfophenyl) -amino-2,4-dichlorotriazines and heated to 25 to 30. In the course of 2 to 3 hours, a dilute sodium hydroxide solution is added dropwise in such a way that the pH of the reaction mixture is kept between 5.5 and 6.6.
The solution of the monochlorotriazine compound obtained is cooled to 0 to 5 and mixed with 20 parts of sodium bicarbonate. The diazo compound obtained from 17.3 parts of 1-aminobenzene-3-sulfonic acid is then allowed to run in in the customary manner. The dye obtained dyes the cellulose fiber in very washfast red-orange tones.
If 1-aminobenzene-2-sulphonic acid or 1-aminobenzene-2-carboxylic acid is used as the diazo component, dyes are obtained which color in somewhat more yellow or somewhat redder tones. With 1-amino-4-methoxybenzene-2-sulfonic acid, a red color is obtained. Also with 2-aminonaphthalene-4,8-disulfonic acid.
The triazine compound used in this example can be replaced by the same amount of 6- (4'-sulfophenyl) -amino-2,4-dichlorotriazine, whereby dyes with very similar properties are obtained.
