Balancing device of a clockwork balance It is known that the balancing of the balance wheels is generally obtained either by rotating screws mounted around the rim of the balance, or by removing material from this rim, in particular by milling.
We also had the idea of pivoting weights around the balance, whether in the form of sliding elements on the rim of this balance, or relatively wide sectors rotatably mounted on a bearing surface of the balance.
However, these devices have not given satisfaction, firstly because of their relatively difficult and complicated manufacture and as a consequence of their high price, and then because of their insufficient sensitivity due precisely to their complexity.
The present invention relates to a device for balancing a clockwork balance intended to avoid these drawbacks.
This device is characterized by the fact that it comprises an arm which can be oriented in a plane parallel to that of the balance, an arm whose central part is pivoted on the latter's shaft and whose center of gravity can be moved.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, three embodiments of the object of the present invention. Figs. 1, 2 and 3 are plan views of the first, second and third embodiments, respectively.
The first embodiment represents a balancing arm 1 clamped on the axis 2 of a not shown balance.
This arm has for this purpose, in its central part, a longitudinal slot 3 having approximately the width of the diameter of said axis and allowing movement of the arm relative to this axis and consequently relative to the balance.
It is therefore possible to balance this balance by judicious movement of the arm first around the axis and then longitudinally.
This arrangement is particularly advantageous first of all because of its great simplicity of manufacture and assembly, and then because of its attractive price, then because of its great maneuverability during the adjustment coming in particular from the length of the arm, and finally because its sensitivity due to the relatively low mass of the arm compared to its length, which allows very fine movements.
In the second and third embodiments, the arm also rotates around the axis of the balance, but its center of gravity is modified respectively by weights 4 and by screws 5.
