Stirnbauteile A' und B' an ihren oberen Enden abgeschrägt.
Protective device for a cylindrical, horizontal liquid tank
The invention relates to a protective device for a cylindrical, lying liquid tank, in particular with a flammable content, which, in the event of a leak in the tank, is able to accommodate the leaking part of its content up to its maximum filling.
It is known that such devices serve, in the case of an underground arrangement, as is customary in the case of gasoline or diesel oil tanks in petrol stations or in the case of underground heating oil tanks in oil firing systems, to exclude the contamination of the groundwater, on the other hand, when they are located in the basement of residential and office buildings or in industrial plants Tanks with flammable liquids prevent the liquid from flowing out of the container into adjacent rooms, e.g. B. in boiler rooms to prevent.
Protective devices for these purposes are known. In general, for this purpose masonry or concreted underground chambers or pits provided with sealing strips are used, into which the tank is inserted and which are covered at the top and, after inserting a concrete cylinder for the dome and / or the manhole of the tank, are filled with earth. The height of the earthfill must usually meet certain fire regulations. In some places, the filling of the chamber with coarse gravel is required. In a more recent development, double-jacket tanks have also been proposed, the annular space of which, enclosed by their cylinder jackets, can accommodate the contents of the inner tank that has leaked.
In the case of tanks of oil firing systems housed in the basement of residential and industrial buildings, the tank room of the house separated from the boiler room is usually designed as a security room, the access doors of which are arranged by means of a threshold at such a height that they are removed from the floor and the perimeter walls formed and provided with a dense paint tub is able to accommodate the contents of the leaked container.
The production of these protective pits or troughs, especially for the fuel tanks of gas stations, is time-consuming and costly as a result of the extensive excavation of formwork and concreting work. In addition, the subsidence of the ground can cause cracks in the walls so that the protective pits or troughs cannot fulfill their task.
The invention is based on the object of creating a trough-shaped or trough-shaped structure of the type mentioned above, the production and installation of which is simple, time-saving and cheap and has the advantage of being insensitive to subsidence of the ground. The protective device according to the invention is characterized by a trough or trough-shaped, surrounding the liquid tank in its lower part to a little above its horizontal central cross-sectional plane at a distance, with cover strips extending approximately horizontally inward from the upper trough or tub edge on all sides, enclosing the tank and with protruding on the inside Structures of several types, each of which is uniform among themselves, provided as supports for the support elements used for the tank,
Uniform prefabricated prefabricated components that can be assembled in a liquid-tight manner at the installation site. To control the protective device, a control tube is conveniently arranged from a lockable floor-level corridor box or the like to the bottom of the deepest terminal prefabricated component enclosing the liquid tank at the bottom, through which leakage liquid can be detected either by means of a dipstick or a sampling vessel to be lowered through the tube.
In order to be able to detect leaking oil immediately, e.g. A concrete base can also be provided in partially ring-shaped prefabricated components, which extends up to the height of the passage openings in the flange parts of the prefabricated components and on which a channel, open at the top, is laid through these openings for drainage of idleness in one end section of the structure in which the control tube is housed ends.
This measure enables leaking oil to be diverted from any point on the structure through the channel to the terminal section with the control pipe and can be detected there at any time, even with small amounts.
The prefabricated components can consist of a wide variety of materials, provided that they have the required mechanical strength and chemical resistance. You can e.g. B. reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, fiber-reinforced cement, z. B. asbestos cement, reinforced plastic or metal, such as. B.
Aluminum.
The drawing shows three exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows the first example in longitudinal section.
Fig. 2 shows a cross section along the line II-II in Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 shows a plan view.

Fig. 6 shows a longitudinal section of one end part.
FIG. 7 shows, in the same representation as FIG. 6, the third exemplary embodiment on a smaller scale.
FIG. 8 shows a cross section along the line VIII-VIII in FIG. 7.
Fig. 9 shows in cross section the lower apex part of the tub on a larger scale.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4, a protective trough is provided which consists of six identical shell parts A which are lined up in the longitudinal direction and which in their entirety enclose the lower part of the cylindrical tank 1. Each component A consists of an approximately semi-cylindrical part 2 which, with the two flange parts 3 4 on which the tank 1 rests, forms a U-profile and ends on both sides of the tank 1 just above its horizontal center cross-sectional plane 5.
The rectangular openings enclosed on both sides of the upper edge of the cylinder part 2 and the upper edges of the flange parts 3, 4 are formed by longitudinal strips 6, 7 (FIGS. 2 and 3) which are made in one piece with the component part A and are arranged somewhat obliquely, which extend up to the tank 1, or, if one is provided, the metal or plastic film 8 covering the upper part of the tank 1 extends, covered. The edges of the strips 6, 7 facing the tank 1 are beveled and the wedge-shaped space between these edges and the tank 1 or the metal or plastic film 8 is filled with a plastic sealant 9, preferably asphalt.
The end of the tub is terminated by an approximately semi-circular end wall B, which at its upper end is an approximately horizontally angled up to the tank end wall 10 or the metal or plastic film 8 covering it on top and at the same height how the bars 6, 7 carry bar 11 running. Its edge facing the tank end wall 10 is also beveled and the wedge-shaped space between it and the tank end wall 10 or the metal or plastic film 8 is also filled with the plastic sealant 9. The shell components A and at least one of the end walls B are connected to one another with the interposition of seals 12 by corrosion-resistant screw anchors 13 or other suitable connecting elements.
Since this type of connection gives the security container considerable flexibility, it is very little sensitive to subsidence. Passage openings 14 are provided in the flange parts 3, 4 to compensate for leakage fluid that has escaped. To compensate for differences in length as a result of the length of the liquid tank 1, which is independent of the standard length of the shell components A, a block 15 of concrete is concreted in place between the one flange part 3 and the adjacent end wall B (left in FIG. 1).
In order to be able to determine the accumulated leakage oil, the lockable corridor box 16 is provided with the control tube 17, which extends almost to the bottom of the leftmost shell component A, through which the leakage liquid is measured either by means of a dipstick - not shown - or by means of a through the pipe 17 the sampling vessel to be lowered can be determined.
For the purpose of using the protective tray for free-standing tanks, e.g. B. of industrial plants, the shell components A are provided with dashed line brackets 18 (Fig. 2 and 3). About the usually present on liquid tanks dome 18 (Fig. 4) to keep the manhole cover 19 accessible, a pipe 20 made of appropriate material, eg. B.
Concrete, asbestos cement, plastic, metal placed inside out, which rests on the jacket of the tank 1 at the bottom and is closed at the top in the ground by means of a cover 21 that can be removed.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 5 and 6, the shell or end components A 'and B' are beveled at their upper ends. The cover strips 11 'and 7' are placed with lower inclined grooves 18, 18 'on the beveled ends of the parts A' and B 'and are cut off at an angle on the tank side in order to form wedge-shaped recesses 19, 19'.
After assembly, the recesses 19, 19 'are filled with cement mortar or bitumen.
On the oil tank 1 ', which is provided with an insulating jacket, two layers are attached one on top of the other for the drainage of liquids, one of which, preferably made of a metal foil, ends in the area of the wedge-shaped recesses 19, 19' and serves to drain off leakage oil inwards, while the other is preferably made of bitumen cardboard or film existing layer 21 which covers the cover strips 11 'and 7' and is intended for the drainage of rainwater to the outside.
The anchor bolts 13 'connecting the flange parts 3', 4 'to one another or to the end component B' are shorter than the total thickness of the parts 3 ', 4' including the seals 12 '. The bolt heads and nuts are countersunk in recesses 22 and these are filled with cement.
In the embodiment shown in Figs is laid in the flange parts 3 ', 4' (Fig. 6), which opens freely into the end portion of the container with the control tube 17 and serves to drain off the liquid.
The installation of the open sheet metal channel 24 connecting all components A 'on the bottom 23 of the container provides a reliable guarantee that any leakage of the liquid tank 1' can be detected immediately in the course of regular, short-term checks.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the part-circular components A 'are made in one piece with the circular segment-shaped end walls B'.
