Symmetrical end wall for gutters For the frontal closure of the two ends of a gutter, which in normal execution have a rolled-up bead on one long side and an extension on the other long side to apply to the eaves, various designs of end wall parts are known.
The oldest version of the known end wall parts consists of a short piece of gutter, in which on one end face a cross-section tailored to the cross-section of the gutter was inserted and welded piece together with the gutter. After the welding process, this piece was hot-dip galvanized in a full bath and stored as a stock. For each gutter a right and a left front wall part was required, which was riveted to the corresponding gutter length for assembly and the joint was soldered. The storage of these front wall parts he requires a relatively large amount of space, and the assembly is correspondingly complex.
In order to reduce the space required for storage, end wall parts are then created which are only available from the vertical end base. Extending over part of the periphery of these floors, a groove directed parallel to the floor plane and on one side at the end of this groove a cover cap for the one-sided gutter bead is worked on by corresponding flanging. To assemble with the gutter, an outward fold must be worked on the latter, with which the gutter is pushed transversely to its longitudinal direction into the said groove and the groove is knocked together with the fold.
This fold is then soldered.
In a further, improved embodiment of the last-mentioned end wall parts, a bar is now worked on for use on both sides of the gutter as a left and right end on the upper horizontal edge portion of the end wall, which has both a right-hand and a left-hand bead cap. The bead cap that is not required is separated from the front wall part before installation, whereupon the installation in the version described above takes place. With this design, the storage is limited to half of the models and thus the space requirement is limited.
The production of the cited fold at both ends of the gutter for connection to the front wall parts, however, requires a skilled worker in any case, so that the assembly of these front wall parts cannot be carried out by assistants.
The invention now relates to a symmetrical end wall for gutters, with a particular bottom part to form the wesent union vertical end of the gutter, the periphery of which is provided over part of its length with a groove for receiving the gutter end, in which to Mon days with the gutter the above-mentioned folding on the gutter becomes superfluous, so that the Mon days can also be carried out by auxiliary staff.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that said groove consists of an intermediate space running in the extension of the gutter cross-section, which is formed by at least one double wall part of the end wall directed parallel to the longitudinal axis of the gutter, in such a way that the end wall is displaced in a straight line against the Gutter can be pushed onto the end.
In the drawing, three embodiments of the symmetrical end wall for gutters according to the invention are shown. It shows: FIG. 1 an end wall with a bottom part in the form of a quarter sphere in a diagrammatic representation according to the first embodiment, FIG. 2 a section in the longitudinal center plane of a part of an identically shaped end wall placed on a roof gutter end according to the second embodiment, and FIG 3 shows a front wall with a flat, vertical bottom part in a diagrammatic representation.
The symmetrical end wall for gutters shown in Fig. 1 has a bottom part 1 held in the form of a quarter sphere, which is formed from two essentially identically shaped, nested single quarter spheres la and 1b.
The outer part 1b is provided with an outwardly directed bead 2 on its vertically flat edge part, whereby a gap is created between this and the same edge part of the inner part la, which is a groove 3 in the extension of the cross-section of the dash-dotted line in the drawing drawn gutter 4 runs. The double wall formed by these edge portions and delimiting the groove 3 runs parallel to the longitudinal axis of the gutter 4.
A bead 5 made of a rolled piece of sheet metal is attached to the horizontal edge portion of the bottom part 1 and its length is dimensioned such that its two ends 5e protrude from the vertical plane of the edge portion of the end wall containing the groove 3. The shape and outer dimensions of this bead 5 are kept in such a way that it can be pushed into the bead 4e of the same when it is joined to the end of the gutter 4.
In the end wall shown in Fig. 2, the bottom part 20 is also designed in the form of a quarter sphere and provided on its not shown, extending in the horizontal edge portion with the same ben bead as the end wall of FIG.
In contrast to this, the bottom part 20 consists only of a single quarter sphere. On the inside of the edge part of this bottom part running in the vertical plane, a strip of material 21 with an inwardly directed bead 22 is placed over the entire length of this edge part and fastened to it in a sealing manner against the quarter sphere, so that between the bead 22 and the edge part the Quarter ball again the groove 3, as in Fig. 1, is formed.
The end wall finally shown in FIG. 3 has a flat, vertical base part 30 which is formed from two single bases 30a and 30b that fit into one another. The periphery of these bottom parts is bent at right angles, with that of the outer bottom 30b having an outwardly directed bead 31, similar to bead 2 in FIG. 1 and thus the two edge parts in the vertical plane again form a double wall, the space between which is again the groove 3, as shown and described in Fig. 1 forms.
To cover the end face of the bead 4a of the gutter 4, a separate, pot-shaped cover cap 32 is added to the end wall 30, the clear diameter of which is adapted to the outside diameter of the roof gutter bead 4e.
Instead of the inner part 30a, the end wall according to FIG. 3 could also be provided with the inner strip of material shown in FIG. 2 and described there with an inwardly directed bead.
Due to their symmetrical shape, the end walls shown and described can be used equally well for the left end face of the gutter 4 as well as for its right. To assemble these end walls are the same only by GE rectilinear parallel displacement, in the direction of the previously cut to its exact length roof gutter to attach to the ends, with the gutter end in the groove 3 moves. Subsequent soldering of the groove 3 creates a tight connection due to the capillary action occurring in the said groove, without the gutter end having to be specially processed beforehand.
In the case of the end walls according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the bead 4e is also closed at the same time, while in the case of the end wall according to FIG. 3 this is done by placing the cap 32 and soldering it to the bead 4e.
