Profile strip set up to be attached to another same strip. The invention relates to a profile strip set up to be attached to another same strip with a U-shaped cross section.
There are already box-shaped profile strips be known, the extended legs of which can be placed on the following profile strip. Profile strips of this type are used, for example, in body construction, but have the disadvantage that in the event of tensile, bending and torsional loads, the forces from profile strip to profile strip were only transmitted through the screwed parts. In the event of dents, these profile strips could practically no longer be repaired, as their cross-section had a closed shape.
These disadvantages are remedied by the present invention, which consists in the fact that the free ends of the mutually parallel legs are each provided with an inwardly projecting thickening of at least approximately rectangular cross-section and the legs immediately in front of the web each by a width of Leg plus thickening and the length of the thickening are drawn in parallel to the legs, the web protruding beyond the drawn-in leg part in width and the web has a width which corresponds to the clear distance between the legs behind the thickening.
In the accompanying drawing, Ausführungsbei are shown games of the subject invention.
Fig. 1 shows a cross section through three joined together profile strips.
Fig. 2 shows a cross section through a further embodiment of the profile strip.
Fig. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject of the invention in cross section, the outer profile strips A and C being intended as lateral end profile strips. For all constructions which comprise more than three profile strips, only the middle profile strip B according to the invention is suitable for the additionally required elements. This profile strip B has two parallel legs 1 and 2, which are connected to one another by the web 5 which is perpendicular to it.
The free ends of these legs 1 and 2 each have on their inner side an oppositely directed, that is to say inwardly projecting, thickening 3, 4 which essentially has a rectangular, elongated shape. The width of this thickening corresponds approximately to the side wall thickness. Immediately in front of the web 5 is on each leg a parallel to the web ver running, drawn-in longitudinal recess 11 and 12. This longitudinal recess is on the one hand by the protruding on the web 5 longitudinal ribs 6, respectively. 7 limited.
The total width of the web including ribs reaches at most the clear inside width of the legs behind the thickenings. The length and shape of the recesses 11 and 12 is designed so that the thickenings 3 and 4 of the leg ends of a profile strip placed thereon fit into it, the outer sides of the legs forming a flat surface without protruding parts or paragraphs when the profile strip is joined together.
The joining of the profile strips is carried out in such a way that they are either pushed into one another laterally or, in the case of materials and profile dimensions that allow a slight leg springiness, by pressing the profile strips against one another, whereby the resilient legs are slightly pressed apart during this operation until the thickenings of one profile strip in Snap into the longitudinal recesses of the other profile strip.
The profile strip A serves as an upper end and therefore has no longitudinal depressions. For the purpose of stiffening, the legs adjoining their web are formed thickened over part of their length. The profile strip C is designed as a box profile and serves on the opposite side of the profile strip A as a conclusion. A closed hollow profile is created by its connecting part 8 at the end of the legs. The one leg also has an extension 9 serving for support and fastening.
In Fig. 2 the cross section of a further variant of the profile strip is shown. This corresponds to that of Bin Fig. 1 with the exception that a connecting part 10 parallel to the web 5 is present, which is arranged between the two legs near their free end and which connects them. The advantage of this profile strip is an additional stiffening, although poor accessibility to the interior of the profile must be accepted.
To prevent mutual displacement of the profile strip in the longitudinal direction, securing means can be IN ANY at the overlap points. The overlapping parts can be secured by screws, rivets, pins, etc., which extend over an overlap point or continuously over both overlap points. The so plugged together and secured profile strips form a cohesive rigid wall and are used in body and wagon construction, for side shutters, cabins and doors, etc.
They largely replace the U, T and I truss profiles with sheet metal. In the case of tensile, compressive, bending and torsional loads, the forces that occur are absorbed by the frictionally and positively interlocking parts, in contrast to profile strips that are only pushed onto one another, in which the forces are only absorbed and transmitted by the screwing elements have to. The profile strips are expediently made from a light metal alloy, with their shaping taking place in the pressing and drawing process.
Another possible form of manufacture is that they are made of sheet metal that is pressed accordingly. is folded or profiled.
