Machine for the production, filling and sealing of bags
The invention relates to a machine for producing bags, in particular infusion bags with a folded base from a web of material made of paper or the like on a gradually rotating conveyor wheel and for filling and closing these bags with transfer to a likewise gradually rotating filling wheel.
The purpose of the present invention is to create a machine of this type on which various types of collapsible bags can be produced without substantial adjustment of the machine, for example bags with a single bottom fold, bags with a W-shaped bottom fold or double-chamber bags.
Machines for producing bags with a bottom fold are already known. In these machines, however, the material web V-'bzw. In a W-shaped manner, a piece corresponding to the width of the bag to be manufactured is separated from it after transverse sealing seams have previously been attached to the separation points.
The bags produced in this way must be taken over for filling by a conveyor wheel equipped with holding tongs or a conveyor chain and fed to a filling and closing device.
In contrast, the machine according to the invention mentioned at the beginning is characterized by a conveyor wheel to which the bag blanks separated from a continuous web of material are transferred and which revolves around a horizontal axis and has a number of folding and holding units on its circumference, so that the latter with an opposite Stationary swing folders cooperate one after the other to fold the bag blanks one after the other in the transverse direction in the center of a V or W shape to form the bottom and to hold them tangentially in this form on the circumference of the conveyor wheel, and that after the same rotation the bag blanks in a vertical position with upwards directed opening or openings in the holding members of the filling wheel rotating around a vertical axis,
where they are not only filled7 but also closed.
With the machine according to the invention it is therefore possible to provide the bags with V- or W-shaped bottom folds with longitudinal folds or to produce double-chamber bags when a tube is fed in.
Further features emerge from the following description of a preferred exemplary embodiment on the basis of schematic drawings.
Show it:
Fig. 1 the example of the machine in front view,
2 shows a device for forming longitudinal folds in the fed material web in a perspective view,
3 shows a device for forming a tube from the fed material web in a perspective view,
4 shows a folding device for producing a W-shaped bottom fold in side view,
5 shows a bag with longitudinal folds and a W-shaped bottom fold in a perspective view and FIG
6 shows a double-chamber bag with a W-shaped bottom fold in a perspective view.
The material for the bags to be manufactured is continuously withdrawn in the form of a web 1 from a supply roll 2 via deflection rollers 3, 4 by means of a pair of withdrawal rollers 5, 6. This is followed by a cyclical conveying of the web 1 by one blank length for a bag by means of an intermittently rotated pair of format rolls 7, 8 and a pendulum roller 9. The pair of format rolls 7, 8 leads the end of the web vertically down to a star-shaped conveyor wheel 10, which on each of its radial arms having holding tongs 12.
The conveyor wheel 10 is rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis and is driven intermittently.
During the idle times of the conveyor wheel 10, the end of the web is conveyed transversely in front of the mouth of one of the holding tongs 12 provided and then a bag blank is separated from the web 1 by means of a cutting device 13, 14 (FIG. 1).
Immediately after the severing cut, a rocking slide 15 strikes the bag blank into the holding tongs 12 of the conveyor wheel 10, the blank being given a central transverse fold (FIG. 4).
This fold, which later forms the bottom of the bag, can have a V-shape or a W-shape, depending on the design of the oscillating slide 15 and the holding tongs 12. According to FIG. 4, the rocker slide 15 and holding tongs 12 are designed in such a way that the bottom of the bag receives a W-shaped fold. For this purpose, the oscillating slide 15 has two parallel folding blades 16, 17, to which a folding plate 18 is assigned in the jaws of the pliers when folding the cut of the bag between them.
The folded blanks are held in place for further transport by means of clamping pieces 19 (FIG. 4) which are pivotably mounted in the holding tongs 12 and which, under the action of leaf springs 20, press the blank against the folding plate 18 with their rear edges. When the conveyor wheel 10 is then indexed in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 1), the free legs of the blank held in this way are folded over in the longitudinal direction of the pincer mouth or tangentially to the circumference of the conveyor wheel 10 by means of folding switches 21, 22 fixedly arranged on both sides of the conveyor wheel 10. The further processing of the blank folded in this way to form a bag then takes place in any suitable manner, e.g. B. by welding its side edges by means of heat-sealing jaw pairs 23, 24, which are known per se and provided at downstream individual stations (FIG. 1).
At a further station downstream of the conveyor wheel 10 in the horizontal plane, an intermediate conveyor wheel 26 equipped with a certain number of tongs 25 takes over the finished but still open bags at the bottom of the bag and transfers them to a suitable device
Filling wheel 30, so that the bags are held in an upright position by this filling wheel 30. Said transfer wheel 26 is not required in every case, since the bags fixed on the feed wheel 20 can also be transferred directly from the feed wheel 10 to the filling wheel 30 with appropriate mutual assignment.
The filling wheel 30 revolves step by step around a vertical axis, the bags being held at their side edges by means of tongs 31 and being fed one after the other to a filling device 32 and a closure device 33 known per se. To introduce the filling material into the bags, funnels 35 which can be raised and lowered by suitable control means are provided above the filling wheel 30, concentric with the bags, and which can be raised and lowered before the filling station.
After the desired filling quantity has been transferred from the filling device 32 into the funnel 35, the latter remain in the bag openings for a while until the filling material has completely entered the bag.
The funnels 35 are then raised again so that the openings of the bags can then be closed by means of the aforementioned bag closing device 33.
In the present exemplary embodiment, the filled and closed bags are now transferred in a suitable manner into a cellular wheel 36, to which a device for attaching labels and hanging threads is assigned. The labels are removed from a stack 37 by a conveyor wheel 39, which rotates in a vertical plane, and connected in a known manner to a thread unwinding from a spool 38. The thread is also attached to the heads of the bags located in the cellular wheel 36 by means of tools 40 of a known type and then cut to length such that a piece of thread with a label is provided on each bag.
In order to collect a certain number of bags, the star feeder 36 is followed by a stacking wheel 41 which is rotatable about a vertical axis and which is indexed after receiving a predetermined number of bags in one of its radially arranged chambers. The bags stacked in this way are suitably ejected from the chambers of the stacking wheel 41 at a further station.
With the machine described above, depending on the use of certain tools, single or double-chamber bags with a V- or W-shaped bottom fold, and also bags with longitudinal folds according to FIG. 5, can be produced in a simple manner. For the production of the bag shape of FIG. 5, folding switches 42, 43, 44 of a known type are provided at the web feed between the deflection roller 4 and the feed roller 5, as shown in FIG. For the manufacture of double-chamber bags according to FIG. 6, folding switches 45, 46 are used to form a tube and tools 47 are used to connect the longitudinal seam thereof.
When using non-heat-sealable bag material, an adhesive application device 50 is provided between the two circumferential rollers 3 and 4, which applies an adhesive to the web 1 in the area of the later seams. In the present embodiment, according to FIG. 1, the adhesive is supplied in the form of a thread 51, melted and transferred to the web 1 in the melted state.
