Variable tilt loading ramp
The present invention relates to a loading ramp with variable inclination, characterized in that it comprises a platform of generally oblong shape, said platform being provided at its rear end with a pivoting means, a roller, capable of rotating freely on an axis fixed on two flanges integral with the underside of the platform, being in contact with an eccentric disc fixed on the shaft of a speed reducer actuated by a motor, and a damper, connected to the platform and articulated at its two ends, being intended to return the ramp to its horizontal position, the whole being arranged so that by rotating the motor in one direction,
the eccentric disc drives the roller and rotates the platform at the desired inclination to form a ramp for loading a transport device, the shock absorber rod moving relative to its cylindrical casing in proportion to the slopes that the ramp may present, and that by rotating the motor in the opposite direction, the platform is returned to its initial position.
The attached schematic drawing represents an embodiment and a variant, given by way of example, of the ramp which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view in section, taken along the line I-I of FIG. 2, from the stationary loading ramp.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a cross section, taken on line III-III, of FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 is an end view from the side of the shock absorber.
Fig. 5, on a smaller scale, is an elevational view of the ramp in the loading position of an automobile truck.
Fig. 6 is an elevational view in longitudinal section of a variant of the ramp housed with its operating members in a box.
Fig. 7, on a smaller scale, is an elevational view in longitudinal section of the ramp in the loading position of an automobile truck, the body containing the ramp being leaned against a loading dock.
The loading ramp, in the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, comprises a platform 1 of generally oblong shape, said platform, made of metal foil, having on its upper face 2 striations illustrated only in part in FIG. 2 for clarity of the drawing, the reinforcing beams 4 being fixed on its underside along its longitudinal edges and in its central part.
The rear end of the platform 1 is provided on each of its longitudinal edges with a ring 5, 5 'intended for the passage of a pivot pin 6, 6', respectively, sealed in the masonry 7 with a work planned for the installation of the loading ramp.
In the vicinity of the central part of the platform 1 is fixed a roller 8 which can rotate freely on an axis 9 fixed at each of its ends on a flange 10, 10 'respectively, integral with the central longitudinal members 4'. The roller 8 is in contact with an eccentric disc 11 fixed to the axis 12 of a speed reducer 13, said reducer being actuated by an electric motor 14.
The front end of the central side members 4 'is provided with two supports 15, 15' in which is fixed a pin 16 intended to serve as an articulation at the end 17 of the rod 18 of a shock absorber 19. The cylindrical casing 20 of the damper 19, partially housed in a pit 21 made in the masonry 7, is articulated at its lower end on a pin 22 fixed in two supports 23, 23 'anchored in the bottom of the pit 21.
The front end 24 of the platform 1 is folded down towards the ground to form a border of connection of the ramp with the platform 25 of a truck 26, as shown in FIG. 5.
The installation of the loading ramp described makes it possible to place the platform 1 at the desired inclination, so as to adapt it to the height of the loading platform of the vehicle. In fig. 1, said platform is shown in solid lines in its horizontal position. By rotating the eccentric disc 11 in the direction of arrow f, the platform occupies position 1 'shown in phantom lines at a point and, by rotating disc 11 in the direction of arrow y, the platform occupies position 1 "shown in phantom with two dots.
In the variant shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the loading ramp and the members intended to give it a variable inclination are housed in a box 27, for example made of wood or metal, the platform 1 of the ramp forming the cover of the box. The pivot axes 6, 6 'are fixed to the upper end of the vertical wall 28 of the body, the frame 29 of the speed reduction unit and the supports of the lower axis 22 of the shock absorber 19 being fixed to the lower wall 30 of the case.
By giving the vertical walls of the body 27 (fig. 7) a height corresponding to that of a loading dock 31, said body can be leaned against this dock and moved along the edge 32 of said dock, so as to allow the loading of goods stored in the various stores served by the platform 31. In this case, the platform 31 is equipped with sockets for supplying the electric motor 14.
Fig. 7 shows the body 27 backed by its vertical wall 28 against the edge 32 of the loading dock, the platform 1 being inclined at the desired slope so that its front end rests on the rear edge of the loading platform of a truck 33 .
It is obvious that the platform 1 pivoting device could be reversed with respect to that described, the pins 6, 6 'being fixed to the platform and the rings 5, S, respectively, being embedded in the facing of the masonry 7 (fig. 1) or in the wall 28 (fig. 6).
In addition, the shock absorber could consist of a hydraulic or compressed air cylinder and the body fitted with wheels to facilitate its transport.
