Spinning machine comprising at least one double apron apparatus for pulling a textile ribbon The present invention relates to a spinning machine comprising at least one double apron apparatus for pulling a textile ribbon, this apparatus comprising lateral parts intended to guide the tape laterally as it passes between the aprons. These can each be constituted by a continuous belt in motion.
During its passage between the aprons, the tape tends to spread laterally and this tendency must be combated by a guide preceding the draw rolls. Some difficulty is encountered in tightening the tape to pass it through this guide, particularly in the processing of corrugated fibers such as crimped viscose or other man-made fibers or wool. The tapes are massive and spread out considerably during their passage between the aprons, which necessitates a very abrupt tightening before passing over the take-off rollers.
To avoid this effect, the aprons can be given approximately the same width as the tape itself and side pieces can be fitted outside the edges of the aprons so as to prevent any lateral spreading of the tape and thus avoid the need to tighten the latter before it passes over the rollers.
The passage of the tape between the various pairs of rollers tends to produce localized wear. When using a double apron device without any side control, the aprons must have a width equal to several times that of the tape and, in order to distribute the effects of wear, the tape must have a back and forth movement. lateral in relation to the two aprons and the pairs of rollers. When using a side drive, however, the aprons are the same width as the tape itself and it is therefore impossible to move the tape laterally relative to the aprons.
The machine forming the subject of the present invention is characterized in that it comprises a mechanism arranged to produce a lateral reciprocating movement of a frame carrying at least one assembly formed of a pair of cooperating aprons, associated side parts of said apparatus and of a feed guide, relative to draw rollers and fixed rollers.
The effects of wear are thus equalized and the formation of grooves in the fixed rollers due to the passage of the tape is avoided. The latter therefore has no back-and-forth movement with respect to the aprons themselves. Such movement is not necessary, since the tape having the same width as the aprons, the wear is practically uniform over the entire surface of the aprons.
The drive rollers are preferably narrow enough so as to enter between the side pieces and to be moved like any part of the assembly including the aprons. In one embodiment of the machine comprising several devices, the apron assemblies of these devices are grouped in pairs, each pair having a separate drive transmitted by a pair of toothed wheels. To allow the necessary back-and-forth movement, these toothed wheels must be able to slide relative to each other and, for this purpose, one of the wheels is relatively wide to allow this sliding.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the machine which is the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is an elevational view of one of the double apron devices included in the machine.
Fig. 2 is a plan view showing two of the devices included in the machine.
A tape 1 to be drawn passes through a feed guide 2., between feed rollers 3 and 4, in an intermediate guide 5, then, in a set of aprons 6. This set includes two aprons 7 and 8 cooperating which each pass around a drive roller 9 and an idle roller 10. The assembly also comprises side parts 11, one of which is visible in FIG. 1, the rollers 9 being narrow enough to pass between these parts 11. Pressure is applied between the two aprons by a leaf spring 12. The latter rests downwards against a part 13 through which the pressure is transmitted to the upper apron in a zone 17, at one end. The pressure is also ensured by two leaf springs 18 and 19.
The organs described heretofore constitute an assembly with aprons of a first device which receives a back and forth movement which will be described later. The tape emerging from this assembly passes between take-off rollers 20 and 21 in the usual manner.
To produce the reciprocating motion of the apron assembly and other components, the various parts are mounted on a frame shown in detail in FIG. 2. The apron assembly is supported as a block by a rod 25 (fig. 1 and 2), the intermediate guide 5 is supported by a rod 26 and the feed guide 2 by a bar 2.7. Rods 25 and 26 and bar 27 extend the entire length of the machine in which the apparatus is mounted, for the reciprocal movement of the apron assemblies of several successive apparatuses, and are interconnected. together at one end by a cross member 28 (Fig. 2) to which the reciprocating movement is applied.
This movement is due to the rotation of the feed roller 3 which carries at its end a worm 32 driving a wheel 33. The wheel 33 is mounted on a shaft 34 carrying another worm 35 driving a wheel 36 revolving around a fixed spindle 37. The wheel 36 carries on its lower side an eccentric pin 38 which engages in a slot 39 cut in the cross member 28. It follows that the rotation of the wheel 36 produces a backward movement. -and-comes from the crosspiece 2.8 and therefore the frame formed by the rods 25 and 26 and the bar 27.
The pull drive for the apron assembly of each apparatus is provided by a shaft 40 which extends the full length of the machine and which does not participate in the reciprocating motion of the apron assemblies. These are mounted in pairs, one of them being shown in FIG. 2. A common drive is transmitted to this pair of assemblies from each shaft 40 by means of a toothed wheel 41 mounted on this shaft and meshing with a toothed wheel 42 mounted on a shaft 43 which carries the rollers. drive 9 of the lower aprons of each set. The toothed wheel 42 in turn meshes with a similar wheel 44 mounted on a shaft 45 which carries the drive rollers 9 of the upper aprons of the two sets.
To allow the necessary reciprocating movement, toothed wheel 41 is relatively wide, allowing toothed wheel 42 to slide relative to wheel 41 during the reciprocating motion. The toothed wheels 42 and 44 have deep teeth, cut so as to ensure correct meshing between them despite the variations in thickness of the bands, which obviously modify the distance between the shafts 43 and 45.
In addition to a common drive, the two sets of a pair of devices include a common pressure source constituted by a crosspiece 50 which extends between the parts 13 of the two sets and transmits the pressure of the leaf spring to them. 12. This spring extends from the lower side of an arcuate part 51 shown in phantom which extends between a fixing member 52 and a second fixing point on the axis of the stretching rollers 21. When we want to separate the aprons from a set, the pressure is removed by lifting the part 51 which simultaneously releases the two sets of the pair of devices.
As previously mentioned, the reciprocating motion is applied to all apron assemblies of the apparatus of the machine so as to thereby produce reciprocating motion of the tapes relative to the rollers. fixed to avoid localized wear.
