<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to a timepiece with zipper winding, in which the crown of the winder is screwed onto the case when the winder is not in use, and in which the zipper penetrates with play in a groove of the winding stem, so as to allow it to move axially,
when screwing the crown onto the case, without the zipper being moved.
Watches are known in which the winding crown is screwed onto the case when the winder is not in use, but in which, unlike the present construction, the crown is not directly secured to the winding stem.
In fact, the crown is mounted on its stem so as to be able to move axially with respect to the latter, the angular connection between the crown and the stem only being ensured in a determined axial position of the crown.
Thus, when pressure is exerted on the crown to screw it onto the case, the crown is detached from the stem, which allows the. rotate without driving it.
Watches are also known in which the winding crown is fixed to the case by a bayonet assembly, and in which the zipper enters with play in a groove of this rod, so as to allow the latter to move axially. during the bayonet assembly of the crown on the case, without the zipper being moved. In such constructions, the rotation of the rod,
during the bayonet assembly of the crown on the case, has no unfavorable effect, this rotation being carried out over a very low angular value.
The present construction is a combination of the two aforementioned arrangements, in which the crown is integral with the stem and is screwed onto the case. In such a construction, the rotation of the stem, when the crown is screwed onto the box, must be able to take place even when the spring is fully wound. The aim of the present invention is to solve this problem.
The timepiece according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the winding stem has a portion of square section, ending in line with the sliding pinion, when the device is in position. winding,
so that an axial pressure exerted on the crown wheel to bring it into engagement with the screw thread of the box produces an axial displacement of the sliding pinion disengaging its teeth from the field teeth of the crown wheel.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention and a variant. Figs. 1 to 3 show three plan views, with partial sections, of a pull-tab winder, in three different operating positions, and fig. 4 is an elevational view, in partial section, of a detail of a variant.
The watch partially shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 comprises a movement, the plate of which is designated by 1, housed in a case of which only the middle part is visible, designated by 2.
The winder of this watch comprises a stem 3 carrying, screwed onto it, a crown 4. The latter has a recess 5 at the bottom of which is disposed a seal 6, of circular section. The pendant tube is designated by 7.
11 is extended by a head 7a having an external thread intended to be screwed into an internal thread which the recess 5 of the crown 4 presents; when the latter occupies its screwed position (FIG. 2), the seal 6 is pressed axially against a frustoconical surface presented by the head 7a.
One: second seal, also of circular section, designated by 8, is
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
housed in an internal annular groove presented by the pendant and cooperates with the barrel 4a of the crown.
The winder shown has a pull tab. The latter, designated by 9, is articulated at 10 on the plate 1. It carries an ankle 11 engaging in a groove 12 presented by the lange 3. A jumper 13 acts on an ankle 14 of the zipper 9 to ensure the stability of its two working positions, namely its reassembly position, shown in FIG. 1, and its time setting position, shown in FIG. 3.
The zipper 9 acts on a lever 15 articulated at 16 on the plate and subjected to the action of a return spring 17. This lever has one end 15a engaged in a groove 18 of a sliding pinion 19. The latter engages , by a toothed tooth 20, when it occupies its winding position shown in FIG. 1, with a field toothing 21a of the crown wheel designated by 21.
When the sliding pinion 19 occupies its time-setting position, shown in FIG. 3, its toothing 22 is engaged with the time-setting reference designated by 23. To go from the winding position to the time-setting position, it suffices to exert a pull on the crown 4 , as is usually the case in. the zipper winders.
It should be noted that the length of the groove 12 of the rod 3, into which penetrates the pin 11 of the pull tab 9, is sufficient for this pin to have play in the groove, which makes it possible to move axially, of a certain quantity, the rod 3, without moving the zipper. Thus, to go from the reassembly position represented in FIG. 1 in the position of FIG. 2,
in which the winder is put out of service, the crown 4 being screwed onto the head 7a of the pendant 7, pressure is exerted on the crown 4 which axially displaces the stem 3 without driving the pull tab. However, during this axial displacement, the rod 3 pushes the sliding pinion 19, by the shoulder which limits the end of its square part 3a on which the pinion is mounted.
Therefore, the teeth 20 of the sliding pinion 19 is released from the field teeth 21a of the crown wheel 21 when the crown 4 is screwed onto the head 7a of the pendant 7, or when it is unscrewed. However, the axial displacement of the pinion 19 is insufficient for its toothing 22 to then engage with the time-setting transmission 23.
In the variant of FIG. 4, the winding stem, designated by 24, is in two sections, 24a and 24b, the latter screwing into the first. The assembly of these of these sections could be different, for example by driving in, riveting, or by any other means.
The zipper groove of the winding stem, designated by 25, is limited on the one hand by the end of section 24a, which forms a shoulder on section 24b, and on the other hand by a sliding sleeve 26 mounted. on the end of section 24b. Provision could be made for the rod itself to be in one piece, the sliding sleeve 26 then being stamped in the pull-tab groove in order to constitute the lower shoulder of the latter.
