Device for driving a trailer vehicle The invention relates to a device for driving a trailer vehicle from the PTO shaft of a tractor via a friction clutch. In a known embodiment of this type, radially acting friction jaws are articulated to a drive flange by means of steering arms at such an angle that when the drive flange is rotated, the jaws are pushed outwards into their coupling position, but move inwards when the coupling drum is turned faster .
The invention is based on the knowledge that this type of construction does not meet the requirements that must be placed on such a drive device for a wide range of applications, and has therefore set itself the task of a considerable improvement using the simplest means.
The invention consists in providing a friction clutch that can be switched at will and a blocking of the drive shaft train that can be switched on and off between it and the power take-off shaft. Such a design first of all offers the possibility of acting not only as a friction clutch but also as a brake, with the trailer vehicle being braked on the drive shaft train blocked in this state. It can then be made possible that the friction clutch is arbitrarily engaged more or less by the driver depending on the prevailing conditions.
If there is not a complete match between the running wheels circumferential speeds of the tractor on the one hand and the trailer vehicle on the other hand, the slip can then be compensated for in the friction clutch. The friction clutch can even be switched on when the tractor is running in a different gear than is possible for driving the trailer from the PTO shaft rotating at a standardized speed. The friction clutch can also act as a differential and, if switched on very hard, as a differential lock.
Thus, the device according to the invention can be adapted to all circumstances and requirements and enables the user to fully utilize his advantages in a way that has not been possible before.
A preferred embodiment provides for an arrangement of the switchable friction clutch in the running wheel hub or a friction clutch with a friction belt and rolling bearings connected to the shift cable. Of course, the friction clutch can be designed as a lamellar, cone or friction belt clutch.
Three exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown schematically in the drawing. 1 shows a device with a multi-disc clutch, FIG. 2 shows a device with a conical friction clutch, and FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 show a device with a friction belt clutch.
1 is a drive shaft on the trailer vehicle, which receives its drive from a power take-off shaft (not shown) of a tractor. The PTO drive can be stopped or switched off. The transverse shaft 4 is driven by the shaft 1 via a pair of bevel gears 2, 3. Shafts 1 and 4 are mounted in an axle housing 5. At each end of the shaft 4, inner friction lamellas 6 sit between the outer lamellae 7, which are fastened in the hub 9 carrying the impeller 8.
By a ver in the axial direction slidable pressure piece 10, the friction plates can be more or less compressed. The switching movement takes place via roller pressure bearings 11 from a sleeve 12 which is rotatable about the ideal longitudinal axis and which is equipped with a switching lever 14 and is supported with its sloping back on a counter-pressure bearing 13 attached to the axle housing 5.
With rotating shafts 1 and 4, a more or less strong compression of the friction plates is brought about by corresponding pivoting of the switching arm 14, whereby the impeller 8 is coupled to the drive. If braked who the, the drive of the shaft 1 is switched off - z. B. by shutting down the PTO drive in the tractor - and the drive shaft train blocked, for which a variety of constructive tel are conceivable, z.
B. pivoting a locking lever 15 in the rotational range of a ratchet tooth 16 attached to the bevel gear 3, after which the more or less strong compression of the friction plates 6, 7 causes a more or less strong braking of the impeller 8 on the blocked shaft 4.
The levers 14 and 15 can be operated individually or by known construction means so that they are coupled together to a common handle as that of their functional sequence ent speaks. The right and left pairs of levers are coupled to one another, for example, by means of cables.
Fig. 2 shows a device with a cone coupling whose inner cone 6 'is fixed longitudinally displaceably on the shaft 4 via sliding wedges 17 and whose outer cone 7' is seated in the impeller hub.
According to FIG. 3, the hub 9 of the impeller 8 is wrapped by a brake band 20, the ends of which are mutually overlapping on a drive pulley 21 which is firmly seated on the shaft 4. While one end of the brake band is firmly seated on the drive pulley 21 and can be tightened, the other end of the band can be more or less tightened by a drive wedge 22, expediently with the interposition of a roller 23, with the drive wedge 22 resting on a counter roller 24 supports.
The drive wedge 22 is seated on a pivotable two-armed shift lever 26 about the bearing 25 of the drive pulley 21, the free arm of which can be operated from the shift sleeve 12.
