Steel alloy with high heat resistance The present invention relates to a steel alloy with high heat resistance, preferably for use in the manufacture of: tools that are subject to great demands in terms of heat resistance.
The tools that are thought of are forging tools, hot pressing tools, injection molding tools and extrusion tools. Certain of the tools mentioned can reach temperatures between 900 and 1000 when they are used. Since these tools cannot maintain the temperatures mentioned, they have to be cooled discontinuously with water or in some other way to temperatures of the order of 500.
This cooling happens very quickly and therefore places great demands on the alloy used.
So far, alloys have been used, for example, according to the following compositions:

5 The heat strengths of the above-mentioned steels have been determined for the temperatures 600, 650, 700 and 750 with the aid of a Vickers diamond. All alloy specimens were tempered at 600 before the hardness test.
The hardness values are summarized in the table below:

<tb> V <SEP> 276 <SEP> 232 <SEP> 180 <SEP> 137 The heat resistance of the above alloys is determined by the amount of alloying materials they contain,
different alloys have different properties that increase heat resistance. The rule is that the greater the amount of alloying material, the greater the heat resistance.
With the enlargement of the amount of alloy materials, however, the heat-conducting properties of the alloy deteriorate in proportion, the greater the amount of alloy material that is used. The worse the heat conducting properties are,
the greater the risk of cracks forming when a tool made of the alloy cools down quickly.
From the five alloys mentioned above, it has been shown that all of them, but to varying degrees, are susceptible to cracking when cooled. Accordingly, the steel 'V is the most susceptible to cracking, then the steels in the following order: Stahlt, IV, Hund 11I.
The steels mentioned above can also contain amounts of one or more alloys titanium, niobium and tantalum in a content of up to 0.50%. The aim is to
to change the ratio between the alloys contained in the above alloys so that the alloys are improved, especially in terms of heat resistance, that is, with the smallest possible amounts of alloys, those that produce high heat resistance and at the same time good heat conductivity are allowed to predominate .
The present invention aims to create a new alloy of the last-mentioned type, that is to say with a low alloy content and high heat resistance.
The alloy according to the invention is characterized in that it contains 0.20-0.500 / e (preferably 0.30-0.40%) carbon, up to 1.5 0 / a (preferably 0.2-0 , 5% silicon, 1-5% (preferably 2-3 0 / a) chromium, up to 1,
5 0/0 (preferably 0.3-0.6 "/ o) vanadium and 1-40 / 9 (preferably 2-3% a) cobalt and further 1-4 '/ o (preferably 2-3 0 / a) Contains molybdenum or 2-8 "/ a tungsten or an equivalent amount of molybdenum and tungsten.
The alloy according to the invention can also contain titanium, niobium and / or tantalum each up to 0.5%.
An example of the alloy according to the present invention has the following composition:
