Abstract
Articles required to resist stresses occurring as a result of explosions or detonations, such as high-pressure steam boilers, gas containers, chemical apparatus, gun barrels, rifle barrels, &c., but not including projectiles or armour plate, are made from steel alloys containing over 2 and up to about 4,5 per cent of chromium, 0,08-0,3 per cent of carbon, and 0,15-1 per cent of molybdenum or about double that amount of tungsten, with or without up to 1,9 per cent of nickel. Specifications 354,965 and 361,856 are referred to.
