Drive device at different speeds for control cams, in particular for a sewing and embroidery machine The present invention relates to a drive device at different speeds for control cams, in particular for a sewing and embroidery machine.
This device is characterized by the fact that it comprises a drive shaft on which several different pinions are keyed, meshing with a set of conjugate pinions, respectively integral with driven shafts arranged concentrically in each other, cams control being capable of being engaged successively on the free end of the driven shafts,
the hub of each cam having means for coupling to the driven shaft of the corresponding speed, and a clearance allowing the other driven shafts to rotate freely inside said hub.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial sectional view of the positive say.
Figs. 2, 3 and 4 show three cams capable of being mounted on the device.
The drive device at different speeds for control cams, shown in the drawing, is intended in particular for a sewing and embroidery machine, in which different cams la, lb, le, ete., are used to control different stitches of sewing or embroidery.
Depending on the desired sewing or embroidery stitch, it is sometimes necessary for the control cams to be driven at different speeds. In general, however, a control cam of a given profile is always used at a determined operating speed.
The present invention aims to simplify the operation of a sewing and embroidery machine by making it possible to avoid any need to operate a speed variator device, the placement of a particular cam on its shaft. drive automatically determining the speed at which this cam was cut.
With reference to FIG. 1, this drive device at different speeds for control cams comprises a drive shaft 2 driven by any motor, be it the motor of the sewing machine itself or a particular motor. On this drive shaft 2 are keyed several pinions 3, 4 and 5 meshing with a set of conjugate pinions 6,
7 and 8 respectively integral with shafts 9, 10 and 11 arranged coaxially with one another. The set of driven shafts 9 to 11 is carried by a bearing 12 of the frame 13 of the machine.
It is understood without further, from the view of the drawing, that when the drive shaft 2 is in motion, the three concentric driven shafts. 9, 10 and 11 are driven at different angular speeds.
The cams 1, intended to be engaged successively on the free end of the driven shafts 9 to 11, have means for coupling to the driven shaft of corresponding speed 9, 10 or 11.
In the example shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, it can be seen that the hub of each cam la, lb, le is provided with a central hole having as many bores 14, 15 and 16 of different internal diameter as there are of driven shafts 9, 10 and 11 arranged coaxially one inside the other.
The means for coupling each cam to its corresponding driven shaft are constituted by a part 17, 18 and 19 respectively, forming a key that one of the bores 14 to 16 has, this part being intended to cooperate with a part. corresponding, for example a flat 20, respectively 21 and 22, provided at the end of the driven shafts 9 to 11.
When a cam la, such as the one shown in FIG. 1, is engaged on the driven shafts 9 to 11, part 17 of the latter rests on the flat 20 of the driven shaft 9, which makes it angularly integral with the latter. The bores 15 and 16 of this cam 1 a form one. clearance allowing the other driven shafts 10 and 11 to rotate freely inside the hub of cam 1a.
This cam 1a only can therefore be driven only at a single determined speed which is that given by the driven shaft 9.
On the other hand, if the cam 1b is engaged on the driven shafts 9 to 11, the part 18 of this cam 1b will bear on the flat 21 of the shaft 10, which will make it angularly integral with the latter, the bores 14 and 16 preventing any action of the other driven shafts 9 and 11 on the cam lb.
Finally, when the cam 1 c is engaged on the driven shafts 9 to 11, its part 19 by cooperating with the flat 22 of the shaft 11 will make it angularly integral with the latter, the bores 14 and 15 forming a clearance leaving turn freely, inside the hub, the other driven shafts 9 and 10.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the drive device is provided for three different speeds & drive. However, it goes without saying that such a device could be provided for two or more than three different speeds, depending on the number of pinions arranged on the shaft 2,
as well as according to the number of driven shafts arranged coaxially one within the other.
