Device for automatic control of an opening frame
The present invention relates to an apparatus for the automatic control of an opening frame.
This device is applicable in all cases where it is necessary to ensure automatically, between two extreme limits, one of which can be the total closing of the opening frame and the other its complete opening, the opening and / or the closing. progressive opening of an opening frame as a function of the variations in the temperature prevailing inside the enclosure closed by said opening frame.
It is known that, in order to vary automatically, relative to a fixed frame on which it can rest, the opening angle of an opening frame as a function of the variation in the ambient temperature prevailing inside the enclosure which can be closed by said opening frame, it has already been proposed to use the volumetric variations of an expandable liquid, but not freezable, such as an alcohol for example, contained in a hermetic space, said volumetric variations being a function of the aforementioned temperature variation.
Known devices based on the principle recalled above nevertheless have certain drawbacks, the main one of which is the fact that they include transmissions by levers, which makes their manufacture relatively complicated and expensive and gives rise to certain assembly difficulties. .
The apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that it is constituted by a cylindrical body containing an expandable liquid, but not freezable, acting on a rod mounted to slide in said cylindrical body and projecting relative to one of the ends of this body, this sliding rod being fixed by its free end, to the opening frame, the opening angle of which must be modified as a function of temperature variations, while the cylindrical body, housed inside the enclosure closable by said opening frame, rests on the wall on which this frame is articulated.
The appended drawing illustrates, schematically and by way of example, one embodiment of the apparatus which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of one embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a view illustrating the operation of the apparatus of FIG. 1, in the case of its application to a garden frame.
According to fig. 1, the apparatus consists of a cylindrical body 1, with an internal volume of approximately 400 swells, closed at one of its ends by a bottom 2 and provided at its other end with a bore provided with a gasket sealing 3 in which is slidably mounted a rod 4 forming a pusher piston, having a section of about 1 cm2 and a maximum stroke of about 15 cm. This rod ends at its free end with a portion 5 of smaller diameter so as to give rise to the
formation of a shoulder 6. The hollow cylindrical body 1 contains, in the known manner, an expandable but non-freezable liquid 7, such as an alcohol for example.
On the bottom 2 of the tube 1 is attached a threaded rod 8, preferably provided with an operating eye 9, rod on which is mounted a nut 10 provided with two ears such as 11 and 12.
Referring now to fig. 2, which illustrates the use of the control device which has just been described on a garden frame, it can be seen that the end 5 of smaller diameter of the sliding rod 4 passes through an opening drilled in the front cross member 13 of the opening frame 14 and that the threaded rod 8 passes through a hole 15 drilled in the rear wall 16 of the box of the garden frame on which is articulated, by means of suitable hinges, the opening frame 14, the assembly being such that 'nut 10 bears on the internal face of said wall 16, its two ears 11 and 12 engaging in suitable housings provided on said face.
The device being mounted as has just been said, the adjustment of the opening temperature of the opening frame 14 is effected by screwing or unscrewing the threaded rod 8 in the nut 10, which remains stationary thanks to its two ears 11 and 12, the screwing causing an elongation of the assembly formed by the threaded rod 8, the cylindrical body 1 and the push rod 4, and the unscrewing a shortening of said assembly.
The apparatus being thus adjusted in length, it is understood that an expansion of the liquid 7, due to a rise in temperature, causes the exit from the cylindrical body 1 of the rod 4, which has the effect of causing the frame to be lifted. opening 14, in the direction indicated by the arrow.
On the contrary, a decrease in the volume of the liquid 7, due to a lowering of temperature, allows the push rod 4 to enter inside the cylindrical body 1 under the action of the thrust exerted on it by the opening frame 14 which then moves, in the opposite direction to that indicated by the aforementioned arrow, to gradually return to its starting position or to move closer to the box which it closes if the temperature drops below that for which the length the assembly consisting of the threaded rod 8, the cylindrical body 1 and the push rod 4 has been adjusted at the start.
In the embodiment described and shown, it has been assumed that the threaded rod 8 passes through an opening 15 pierced in the wall 16, but it should be noted that the device could also bear directly against the internal face of this wall. by means, for example, of a rack device arranged vertically, the length adjustment of the assembly constituted by the threaded rod 8, the cylindrical body 1 and the push rod 4 then being obtained by means of 'a cap nut capable of pivoting relative to any notch of said rack and receiving the threaded rod.
