Aircraft with oscillating wings The invention relates to an aircraft with oscillating wings which consist of parts connected to one another in an articulated manner in the direction of the span.
In the known aircraft of this type, the axes of the joints are arranged perpendicular to the wing plane. This should be achieved to fold the entire wing and to be able to apply it to the fuselage.
In contrast, according to the invention, the joint axes connecting the parts run parallel or approximately parallel to the plane of the wing. This Ausfüh tion takes into account the underlying He knowledge that the node of the oscillation process does not coincide with the pivot point of the swing wing on the fuselage, but is further out and coincides with the aerodynamic center of lift of the swinging wing.
Each swing wing is expediently divided in the direction of the span by at least two joints.
The articulated breakdown of the oscillating masses over the entire wingspan results in an almost harmonious oscillation of the entire flying masses. By means of a corresponding control, it can be achieved that the outer wings can make larger deflections when swinging than the inner wings that vibrate with them.
Surprisingly, it has been shown that a swing plane constructed in this way can hold itself in level flight for a certain time with the muscle power of a single person. If an appropriately sized motor is selected as the driving force, then sufficient propulsion and lift can be generated to keep the machine in the air and to make it climb. The drawing brings an embodiment of the aircraft, namely in the form of a Segelflugzeu sat with leg muscle actuation for the flapping wing to keep the machine in the absence of climbing wind by flapping the wings for a certain time in the hori zontalflug.
They show: FIG. 1 a schematic longitudinal section through the fuselage of the machine with the drive for the oscillating wings; 2 shows a schematic view of the machine from the front, only the right swing wing being shown in its entire extent; 3 shows a schematic plan view of the machine according to FIGS. 1 and 2 with the essential elements of the oscillating system, only the right part of the machine being shown in full; 4 shows the cable system for the swinging of the outer wing coupled to the inner wing;
5 shows another solution for the swinging of the outer wing coupled to the inner wing; 6 shows a diagram of the desired course of movement of the individual flywheels with the assignment of the necessary angular deflection of the spring cross section; 7 shows the general scheme of the hydraulic control; 8 shows the general installation of the control cylinder in connection with the control slide and the transfer of the movement of the control slide to the individual springs of the outer wing; Fig. 9 is a diagram; Fig. 10 is a comparison scheme.
On covered with a transparent hood 1 th aircraft fuselage 2 with the rudder 3 and the horizontal stabilizer 4, two mutually identical wing stubs 5 are attached on both sides. On these wing stubs 5 are swingable inner hill 7 via joints 6 and at the ends of this inner wing 7 via further joints 8, which in turn vertically movable with respect to the inner wing - generally designated 9 - connected outer wing.
The outer wings 9 consist of a wing root 10, which is then subdivided outward into individual springs 11. The springs 11 are mounted with their shafts in the root 10 of the outer wings 9 so that they can be rotated about their longitudinal axis for the purpose of changing the angle of attack. The usual ailerons 12 are located on the inner wings 7.
The main spars 13 of the two inner wings 7 are hinged to a common guide piece 14 in the fuselage. This guide piece can slide up and down along one or more perpendicular guides 15 - In order to give the guide piece 14 and thus the swinging wings 7, 9 an up and down swinging movement, the guide piece 14 is in a cable pull system with energy stores 16 and 17, in the example rubber packets, incorporated, which is set in a Wech selbewegung by the pilot via a footrest 19 displaceable along the spar 18. If the pilot presses the footrest 19 forward with his feet, then he pulls the guide piece 14 upwards over the pulleys 20 and 21 with the rope 22 in the example.
On this guide piece 14, however, the rubber package 17 is attached via the rope 23 and the roller 24, which can be tensioned via the tensioning roller 25 in the fuselage. As a result, the existing Kraft memory from the rubber package 17 is charged and pulls when the foot pressure stops at the end of the forward pushing of the footrest 19, the footrest back into the starting position and is moved beyond the starting position. In order to intercept this movement, the second rubber package 16 is attached to the guide piece 14 via a further rope 26. This rubber package 16 is attached to a two-th, next to the tension roller 25 seated on the same axis tension roller 27 and tensioned.
When the footrest 19 moves back under the train of the rubber package 17, the rubber package 16 is charged and the oscillating movement of the wings 7, 9 downward by the rubber package 16 is intercepted. The swing wings 7 and 9 are brought back from the greatest deflection so that the pilot can continue swinging the footrest 19. With this arrangement, the guide piece 14 swings evenly up and down.
For reasons of movement, the footrest is set up in such a way that the pilot can pull it back with his feet and thus support the effect of the elastic bands. The tension control of both rubber packages 16 and 17 takes place from the pilot's seat via worm gears and gears by turning the two tension rollers 25 and 27. The pilot can thus adjust the tension of the rubber packages 16 and 17 so that the wing lift against his own weight and the unchangeable Ge weight share of the machine is balanced and the swing wing in smooth gliding, d. H. with the footrest 14 at rest, stay horizontal and do not fold up. A notch can also be provided in this position of the footrest.
As FIG. 2 shows, when the inner wings 7 swing around the joints 6, the guide piece 14 with the main spar 13 attached to it slide up and down along the vertical guide rod 15 at a greater angular deflection than the inner wings 7 management example this is achieved by cables (Fig. 4). For this purpose, the hinge axis of each outer wing 9 carries a roller 28 rigidly connected to the outer wing. This roller 28 can be rotated about the fixed axis 29 at the outer end of each inner wing 7. From the fixed points 30 and 31 at the outer end of each wing stub 5, cables 32, 33 are crossed to the roller 28, laid around each other and then attached to the roller.
As a rule, you will not only use one rope 31 and 32, but several ropes lying parallel to one another and spaced apart over the entire width of the wing, d. H. you have to imagine the fastening axes and the roller 28 as an elongated roller. The deflection of the outer wing 9 is then determined as a function of the deflection of the inner wing 7 at the same time by the ratio of the roller diameter to the distance between the fastening axes 30, 31 on the wing stubs 5. The smaller the diameter of the rollers 28, the greater the angular deflection of the outer wings 9 with respect to the inner wings 7.
Such a connection of the cable pulls 32, 33 is also conceivable that the outer wings 9 move against the inner wing 7 in such a way that they remain approximately parallel to the wing stubs 5. Then the cables 32, 33 must of course not cross each other. With this solution, the vertical amplitude of the aircraft center part is reduced when it vibrates.
Finally, the fastening of the cable trains according to FIG. 5 from the inner wings can also be moved into the fuselage and the connection can be made angularly adjustable through the fastening lines 30 and 31 to the vertical fuselage axis; z. B. by relocating the attachment to a control organ, z. B. like a control stick 34. The cables 32, 33 of both oscillating wings then attack this control member. When the control member is rotated relative to the vertical through the fuselage, the deflection angle of one outer wing is increased compared to the other and the machine can be stabilized horizontally around the fuselage axis for turning.
This solution is particularly recommended for wing-only aircraft, in which case the wings can be arranged in the shape of an arrow on the fuselage.
To generate propulsion, the outer wings 9 are divided into individual springs 11, the axes of which lie approximately in the direction of the wing main spar and can be adjusted as a function of the wing deflection. For this purpose, each spring formed in cross section like a support surface is rotatably mounted in the so-called root 10 of the outer wing 9 about its keel forming the longitudinal axis. The closed piece of the outer wing 11 lying directly on the joint 28, 29 is referred to as the root 10. The quills run into shafts 35 in this root 10. The shafts 35 are rotatably mounted in the root 10 about their axis and each other, for.
B. by gears 36, coupled so that all springs 11 are rotatable about the same angle of attack.
The adjustment takes place in the exemplary embodiment hydraulically with oil pressure depending on the impact of the outer wing 9 against the inner wing 7, as long as the wing vibrates. With dormant Wings the angle of attack is independent of the wing rash with which the machine is just brought to rest ge, on the normal angle of attack is set, z. B. about 3, because the disc 48 between the bellows 44 and 45 is pulled by the springs 53 and 54 to the middle position.
To hydraulically change the angle of attack of the individual springs 11, a pressure cylinder 37 is provided in the example in the wing stub 5, the piston 38 of which is articulated via the piston rod 39, the joint 40 and a push rod 41 on the up and down guide piece 14 and thus in Depending on the wing deflection is pushed back and forth. In the horizontal position of the wings (i.e. at angle of attack 3), this piston 38 is exactly in the middle of the cylinder 37. At the beginning and end of the cylinder are now connected to the thrust cylinders 44 and 45 via pressure lines 42 and 43.
The thrust cylinders 44 and 45 consist of bellows fastened between the uprights 46 and 47 and coupled to one another by a washer 48. When the cylinder 44 is expanded to the right through the filling, the washer 48 is opened by simultaneous suction of pressure oil from the cylinder 45 shifted to the right. Conversely, the disk 48 is displaced to the left by filling the cylinder 45 after pressure oil has been sucked out of the cylinder 44. The disc 48 is connected via guided push rods 49 to a plate 50 which carries a rod with a coarse thread 51.
A toothed wheel 52 is guided on the rod with coarse thread 51, which rotates uniformly during the forward and return stroke of the rod with coarse thread 51 and thereby over the gear wheels 36, the shafts 35 of the individual springs 11. Each stroke of the piston 38 in the cylinder 37 to the left or right therefore also displaces the rod with the helical threads 51 to the left or right and rotates the springs 11 of the outer wing 9 via the gears 52 and 36.
The control curve 60 on the spool 57 is designed so that any pressure difference between the delivery lines 42 and 43 was at a standstill of the piston 38 in every position of the piston. If the piston 38 is brought from its central position into one of the two end positions only at a low speed so that the amount of oil it transports can flow off via the compensation line 56 in which the control slide 57 is located, the springs 53 and 54 ensure that the disc 48 does not change its mean operating position.
If, however, the piston 38 is moved back and forth at greater speed, for example at the speed that corresponds to the normal operating movement of the guide piece 14, which is mechanically connected to the swinging wing mechanism by cables, then the piston 3 8 The amount of oil conveyed no longer overflows completely via the passage point formed by the slide 57. The amount of oil overflowing in the throttle cross-section 56 of the slide 57 is further metered in that the slide 57 in turn is rotatably connected to the outer wing part 10 at point 59 (FIG. 8), while the housing of the control element 55 is connected to the wing part 7 (FIG. 4 ) is connected to pivot.
Due to the relative movement of the two components 57 and 55 to one another, the throttle curve present on the control slide 57 can have an effect. In this way, a forces play between the amount of oil delivered by the piston 38 on the one hand and the springs 53 and 54 on the other hand.
In the following consideration, it is necessary to bring the overflow of the amount of oil pumped by the piston 38 into a time relationship with the respective overflow cross-sections that are released by the control slide 57. The effect of this relationship is shown in FIG. When the piston 38 has reached approximately its middle operating position during an oscillation process, this is the point of its greatest piston speed. This operating state corresponds to the intersection of the path curve in the lower visual image of Fig. 6 with the zero line. The piston 38 is also located in its central position, corresponding to the central position of the wings.
The amount of oil conveyed by the piston 38 on its way to this operating position has pushed the disk 48 into its left end position. So that the largest Winkelaus impact of the spring cross-section compared to the hori zontal is reached, as plotted in the upper curve in Fig. 6 over the path 4 m.
If the piston 38 has reached its right end position, which position corresponds to the largest swing wing deflection, then with the piston speed, which has now become slower and the overflow cross-section released by the position of the control slide 57, pressure equalization between the lines 43 and 42 has occurred, so that the Spring 54 could pull the disc 48 back into its central position. This operating state is shown on the 6 m vertical line in FIG. The path curve shows the spring cross-section in its lower reversal point, which corresponds to the right reversal point of the piston 38, while the angular deflection of the wing due to balanced oil pressure in the lines 42 and 43 is 3.
When the piston 38 moves backwards from its right end position to the left, the greatest pressure drop between the lines 42 and 43 is again reached in its middle position. However, the higher pressure is now in the line 42. This oil pressure promotes the disc 48 into its right end position, whereby the state shown on the vertical 8-m line is reached. The Schwin5 wing has reached its middle position, with the piston 38 also being in its middle position. The amount of oil it has pumped up to that point has caused the greatest angular deflection, as shown by the angular deflection curve.
When the piston 38 reaches its left end position, which corresponds to the upper operating position of the oscillating wing, the amount of oil delivered by it on its movement from right to left is in turn via the control channel 56 and the corresponding position of the control slide 57 from the Lei device higher pressure 42 flowed into the lower pressure line 43. The disk 48 has reached its central position by the spring force 54, the deflection angle of the springs being brought back to 0 'via the parts 49, 50, 51, 52. This operating state corresponds to the representation in Fig. 6 on the 10-m vertical.
As a result of the movement of the oscillating vanes from the described operating position into the now following central position, the piston 38 moves from the left end position again into the central position, which has been described above.
The wing element shown above the path curve in FIG. 6 with its respective angular deflection describes a sinusoidal path in relation to an - assumed - straight, horizontal flight path of the entire aircraft.
It can be seen from this that the path of the spring cross-section under consideration is longer compared to the straight path of the aircraft (FIG. 9). It is longer, the greater the amplitude of the oscillation process, d. H. the further the considered spring cross-section is shifted towards the wing tip. The blowing direction of the spring profile corresponds to the sine line at every point, the tangent at these points to the sine line. The control task described here for the pivoting movement of the wing cross-section under consideration must essentially be fulfilled.
In addition to the essentials, other influences play a role, such as the angle of attack of the spring cross-section under consideration, i. H. the angle of incidence of the tendon of this spring cross-section with respect to the tangent to the sine line in the viewing point. This angle of attack is a function of the distance traveled, as described below.
The propulsion AH at the wing downstroke (Fig. 9) now arises from the fact that the lift of a spring profile is always perpendicular to the chord of this profile. This results in a horizontal component of the lift that indicates the size of the propulsion. The vertical component of the lift from this diagram, which closes the vector diagram, should now - this is a second requirement of the control organism for the rotary movement of the spring cross-section - constantly have approximately the same size on the sinusoidal path of the spring cross-section during wing downstroke (Fig. 10).
If this requirement were not met, for example the vertical component of the lift would be greater due to the higher blowing speed of this wing profile or as a result of a larger angle of attack of this wing profile compared to the tangent on the sinus line during the downstroke movement, the normal, approximately harmonic oscillation process would be the result disturbed. A power would be taken from the oscillation process, which damps the oscillation process, which reduces the amplitude. In the opposite case, the opposite occurs, an increase in the amplitude.
When the wing upstairs, the angle of attack is negative, so that a downforce is generated, the horizontal component of which results in propulsion. The drawn out line in the upper part of FIG. 6 shows the Ver course of the angle which the tangent to the lower sinusoid includes with the horizontal, while the dashed line represents the course of the Win angle between the chord of the spring profile and the horizontal.
To master the control task for these aerodynamic relationships, the hydraulic system according to FIGS. 7 and 8 is used, as described above. To this system it should be noted that in Fig. 7 between the disc 48 and the uprights 46 and 47 clamped helical springs are provided to return the disc 48 to the central position. It is not absolutely necessary to provide such tension springs, but the pressure cylinders 44 and 45 can be designed as self-tensioning rubber sleeves.
Since the slide in the passage for the wing downstroke cannot be used with the same shape of the throttle curves as in the opposite direction for the wing upstroke, the slide 57 suddenly has to be switched back to the starting position when the movement is reversed. This sudden downshift can be achieved hydraulically, mechanically using a tilting system or electrically using a relay switch.
1 and 3, a damping surface 4 is provided in the horizontal stabilizer for aircraft with a tail fin, which is pivoted up and down depending on the movement of the guide piece 14 and thus raises and lowers the tail of the machine simultaneously with the bow thus preventing the fuselage from pitching in its longitudinal axis during the swinging of the oscillating wings.
