Le cas particulier de tunnels obturés à l'une au moins de leurs extrémités, comme indiqué en 58 sur la fig. 13, ne présente pas de difficulté particulière ;

The device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a. formwork composed of at least one section consisting of two half-shells each formed of a vertical panel and a horizontal panel forming a right dihedral angle, the two half-shells being able to be assembled temporarily by the free edges of the two horizontal panels placed at the top, so as to form a tunnel structure,
removable half-shell by half-shell, and a trolley mounted on wheels and provided with means which make it possible to support a half-shell in the vicinity of the free edge of the horizontal panel and in the vicinity of the base of the vertical panel.

Fig. 16 is a front view, on a smaller scale, showing the assembly of two half-shells and a table of the type shown in FIGS. 14 and 15.
Fig. 17 shows a reduced half-shell variant assembled with a standard half-shell. The device shown comprises a formwork consisting of sets, most often identical, assembled together and whose number and grouping depend on the size and the arrangement of the constructions to be established. Each of these sets, which will be called in the following section, is constituted by two independent half-shells and, in general, identical.
Each half-shell is made up of two flat panels, namely a vertical panel 1 (see fig. 1 to 3) and a horizontal panel 2. Each panel is formed from a folded sheet and stiffened by profiles 3.
The two panels are assembled to each other, at right angles, by any suitable means such as bolts, welding or the like, allowing the assembly to have a certain flexibility thanks to which it is possible to rotate, a few degrees, the horizontal panel to the vertical panel, up or down.
Two struts 4 and 5 form, in transverse section, the hypothenuse of a right-angled triangle, the other two sides of which are formed by the two panels 1 and 2.
The upper end of each con trefiche is fixed in two gussets 8 integral with the horizontal panel in the vicinity of the free edge thereof, while its lower end is fixed, by means of a jack 9, in two gussets 11 integral with the lower part of the vertical panel.
The jack 9 is constituted by a screw with two threaded parts at opposite pitches and engaged with nuts respectively secured to the two ends of the two parts of the strut between which the jack is inserted. A rod 12, fitted transversely into the screw 9, makes it possible to rotate the latter, in one direction or the other, to lengthen or shorten the strut.
Each strut carries, in the vicinity of its upper end, a transverse axis 14 (see FIG. 6) which carries two rollers 15 retained by washers 16 welded to the ends of said axis. The role of these rollers will be explained later.
Likewise, each pair of gussets between which is fixed a strut foot is provided with a ring designated as a whole by 17 (see also fig. 11) and constituted by two flanges 18 welded on a shaft 19 which rotates. in the gussets 11. The free ends of the two flanges are connected by a short rod 21 which closes the ring. The ring 17 can thus tilt around its axis 19.
The lower edge of the vertical panel rests in the vicinity of each of its ends on a screw jack 23 which makes it possible to precisely adjust the height position of this panel and the horizontality of the assembly.
The two struts of each section are made integral with one another by an upper bar 24, a lower bar 25 and a triangulation bar 26.
A strut 27 is articulated in the middle of the upper bar 24 and can rest on the ground by a screw jack 28, so that one can put a half-shell in the working position independently of the neighboring half-shell. The free edges of the horizontal panels of a section can be joined to each other rigidly and precisely by means of locks called key locks.
each consisting of a plate 31 (fig. 4 and 5) which can pivot on a pin 32 fixed to the edge of one of the two horizontal panels and the end of which has a slot 33 which can engage on a another axis 34 integral with the edge of the other horizontal panel. The plate 31 can be locked on both axes by means of two wing nuts 35, 36, respectively.
On lower spars 37 for reinforcing the vertical panels, it is possible to place and fix, for example by means of bolts, two horizontal bars 38 which serve to assemble the two half-shells to one another. The section formed by the assembly of two half-shells is therefore rigid and cannot be deformed under the action of the pressures possibly exerted by the concrete cast in a dis symmetrical manner.
To prevent the lower parts of the two vertical panels of a same section from approaching one another under the pressure of the concrete, spacer rods 39 are provided which pass through the lower parts of two vertical panels belonging to two neighboring sections. It is also possible to see spacer rods at different places along the height of the panels, for example towards the middle of their height, as indicated at 41.
Several sections can be assembled end to end so as to form tunnels of any desired length, or else one next to the other to form several cells, or, of course, use any combination of these two means.
To facilitate stripping after setting of the concrete, the device comprises a carriage shown diagrammatically in FIGS. 7 and 8. This carriage is essentially composed of a rectangular frame formed of two tubular bars 45 and two other tubular bars 46. It comprises, at its angles, four wheels 47 whose axes are parallel to the bars 46.
In some cases, these wheels can be steerable to facilitate handling. At each end of one of the bars 45 stands a stay or telescopic upright 48 of adjustable height, the head of which comprises a fork with two branches 49 on which the roller pin 15 of the corresponding half-shell will rest. , at the time of stripping.
The two struts 48 are braced by a horizontal bar 51, and two triangulation bars 52 connect them to the opposite side of the base frame of the carriage. Said side of the frame of the carriage comprises two hooks 53 the spacing of which is equal to that of the two rings 17 of a half-shell and which are placed substantially at the same height as these with respect to the ground.
The use of the device described is as follows: we start by mounting a section. To do this, the two half-shells are brought to their approximate location and, by means of the screw jacks 9 of the struts, the upper panels are adjusted squarely with respect to the vertical panels.
Then the keystone formed by the two half-shells is keyed by means of the bolts 31; the two lower bars 38 are put in place and, by means of jacks 23 whose skids rest on the ground or on a cell floor already built, the verticality and leveling of the assembly are adjusted.
These simple and quick operations, once carried out, the section is set. It will be noted however that, by acting on one. either of the ground jacks or struts, there is the possibility of deforming the assembly, to a certain extent, in any desired direction, which is advantageous in certain cases, in particular for connecting the formwork on a part of existing work.
A certain number of sections are thus assembled end to end and / or side by side, as was explained above, depending on the arrangement of the construction to be built.
We can then proceed with reinforcement, then concreting or casting. It will be noted that, on the one hand, for the implementation of concrete, there is an ideal platform constituted by the horizontal panels of the caissons, and that, on the other hand, the interior of the formwork, thus than the floor below, are fully protected against concrete projections.
To remove the formwork, we remove the rods 39 from a half-shell, we advance the stripping carriage under this half-shell, we bring the forks 49 of the carriage below the roller axes 15 of the struts, by example at approximately 1 cm from these, the rings 17 of the casing are folded over the corresponding hooks 53 of the carriage (fig. 10), the ground jacks 23 are raised slightly,
and the struts are shortened a little by means of their jack screws 9. Under. the effect of this last operation, the horizontal panel comes off the concrete and folds down slightly, pivoting around the upper edge of the vertical panel which serves as a hinge, as described above.
Under the action of its own weight, the half-shell, whose center of gravity is quite far from the vertical panel, also tilts slightly inward and, in turn, is detached from the concrete wall to come to rest. on the carriage, by means of the rings 17 and the pins 14 (FIG. 9), as the jacks 23 are completely raised. In the embodiment shown, this disengaging movement of the half -shell has an amplitude of about 4 cm.
The loaded trolley is then removed from the half-shell and taken to a pick-up point where there is a crane or any other suitable lifting device. We. can therefore reuse the half-shell in a new section of the site.
To facilitate the rolling of the carriage, it is possible to place U-shaped irons under its wheels, as indicated at 55 in fig. 9.
The same will be done for all the other half-shells. The half-shell stripping has the great advantage of allowing the slab to be supported in the freed area before removing the adjacent half-shell, so that, at no time, this slab is subjected to stress. bending on supports spaced from the final span between the two walls.
We can therefore afford to take off the formwork much earlier than usual, for example 36 to 48 hours after the concrete swims and, therefore, we can ensure a much faster rotation of said forms and amortize more quickly.
Moreover, the support points of the formwork being flush with the walls, it follows that, during work, the lower slab is only subjected to shearing forces and that, consequently, it becomes possible to reassemble formwork on freshly stripped dal, without risk of excessive bending.
As a general rule, when you want to pour a concrete wall, you start by pouring it to a height of only a few centimeters using so-called formwork forms. It is on this primer that the formwork is clamped which is thus held correctly in place.
This method is not imperative and some building companies are pouring walls without using primers.
The device described makes it possible to apply the two methods with or without primers.
In the first case, the primers are carried out beforehand using special formwork, for example in angles, interconnected by coupling bars allowing rigorous positioning. These bars are removable, which makes it possible to put longer or shorter ones on the angles and thus change the modulation.
The two half-shells are then pressed onto these primers using lower spacers 39, the height of which is such that they pass above the primer, while remaining in the height of the plinths of the apartments. .
In the second case, the half-shells receive at their lower part kinds of sheet metal flaps 56 (Fig. 10), independent, at the time of stripping. These mud flaps are taken under the feet of the vertical jacks and are crossed by the lower spacers which prevent them from any movement during concreting.
With the device described, it is possible to simultaneously execute walls and floors made of concrete, reinforced concrete, or other cast materials, in particular for buildings for residential uses, such as the cell structures shown schematically in FIGS. 12 and 13 and, in general, all constructions affecting a general configuration in tunnels of square or rectangular section.
The particular case of tunnels sealed off at at least one of their ends, as indicated at 58 in FIG. 13, does not present any particular difficulty;
it suffices to adapt, to the corresponding end of the half-shell formwork, a vertical panel allowing this transverse wall to be poured at the same time as the rest of the work (in fig. 13 we have assumed the upper floor removed, for clarity of representation).
If we now refer to fig. 14 and 15, we see a table formed by a panel 61 supported by legs 62, four in number in this example.
The panel 61 is constituted by a rectangular sheet metal plate 63 reinforced by ribs 64 and whose periphery carries two angles 65 whose horizontal wings., Located in the plane of the sheet, are turned towards.
the outside, and two angles 66 whose horizontal wings, also located in the plane of the sheet, are turned inward. The horns 66 have holes 67, preferably round, in one of them, and elongated, in the other.
The feet 62, preferably tubular, are reinforced by upper struts 68, 69 and lower struts 71, 72. Gussets 73 reinforce the structure. The feet. 62 rest on the ground by means of jacks 74.
In fig. 16, you can see how you use the table in combination. with two half-shells of the type described above and each comprising a vertical panel 1 and a horizontal panel 2 supported by struts 5.
The. free edges of the two horizontal panels of the half-shells are assembled, respectively, against the opposite edges of the table 61 provided with angles 65, by means of suitable devices, in particular by means of locking devices 31 which are the same as those used for assemble, one by one,
the edges of the two horizontal panels of the two half-shells when they are mounted without an intermediate table. The plane of the table 61 is coincident with the common plane of the two horizontal panels 2 of the two half-shells.
This arrangement is particularly advantageous in the case of the casting of large-span floors, in the case of tunnels having, locally, larger parts because it makes it possible to dispense with half-shells of special dimensions and,
in the event that only a few tunnels have different spans while the rest of the site only has tunnels of standard dimensions.
The lateral holes 67 of the edges of the table are intended to receive bolts which make it possible to appear, end to end, several tables, in the direction of the length of the concrete tunnel to be poured.
In fig. 17, there is shown a variant of a half-shell in which the horizontal panel is reduced to a simple strip 76 constituted, in this example, by a wing of an angle iron, the other wing of which is fixed against the corresponding vertical panel 1. The edge of this strip 76 is assembled to the free edge of the horizontal panel 2 of the other half-shell, by means of devices such as the locking devices 31 of which we have already spoken above.
This arrangement is interesting for small litters.
