Device for blocking a debtor for perforated strips The present invention relates to a device for blocking a debtor for perforated strips against which press rollers normally bear. This device is characterized by a control rod causing, by its axial displacement, on the one hand, the mechanical blocking of the debtor and, on the other hand, the removal of said pressure rollers, in order to allow the loading of the debtor. thus immobilized, with a perforated strip.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention, as well as an application of the device which is the subject of the invention to a cinematographic projector.
Fig. 1 is an axial section of a debtor and its locking device, also showing the control of the pressure rollers by means of the control rod.
Fig. 2 is a section taken along line II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a section taken along line III-III of FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 is a section similar to FIG. 3, the debtor being blocked.
Fig. 5 represents a schematic overview of an additional sound player, mounted on a machine for projecting a perforated film.
We see in the drawing a debtor 1 for perforated tape 2, for example a cinematographic film. In the particular case, the debtor 1 has two crowns of teeth 3 and 4 intended to engage respectively in perforations 5 and 6 of the strip 2. The debtor 1 comprises rolling rings machined to receive balls 7; the inner bearing rings are fitted with hard friction on a bush 8, itself fixed to the frame 9 of the machine. A ring 10 pierced with a dozen holes 11 oriented in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the sleeve .8 is driven hard inside the debtor 1, bored for this purpose.
A second ring 12, placed inside the first, carries a locking index 13 located in the plane of the holes 11 of the ring 10. The position of the ring 12, in the plane of FIG. 3, is defined by the oppo Sées actions of a ball 14 and a curved spring 15. The latter is fixed to the locking index 13 and its free ends, housed in a recess of the sleeve 8, s' press against the inner races of the ball bearings 7.
The spring 15 tends to push the locking index into one of the holes 11 of the ring 10, but its action is neutralized - in the position of the parts shown in the drawing - by the ball 14 which bears, on the one hand against the inner wall of the ring 12 and, on the other hand, against a control rod 16 coaxial with the debtor 1, freely adjusted inside the sleeve 8; the control rod 16 can move axially under the opposing actions of a push button 17 and a pressure spring 18.
The bush 8 has a hole 19 in which the ball 14 is partially housed. The control rod 16 is hollowed out according to the profile of the groove 20. Two guide pins 21, driven into the bush 8 and freely engaged in the holes of the ring 12, prevent this ring 12 from rotating around the axis of the control rod 16. A ring 22, mounted loose on the sleeve 8, is integral with a drive finger 23 driven into a hole in the rod order 16.
The ring 22 has a cylindrical bearing surface 24 of small diameter and a cylindrical bearing surface 25 of larger diameter, these bearing surfaces 24 and 25 being connected by a shoulder 26. The sleeve 8 has a countersunk slot 27 in which the finger is engaged. drive 23, this slot having the function of limiting the stroke of the assembly formed by the control rod 16 and the ring 22.
Two pressure rollers 28 serving to guide the perforated strip 2 on the debtor 1 are mounted idle on levers 29 pivoting on pins 30 carried by the frame 9 of the machine. Torsion springs 31 fixed, on the one hand, to the frame 9 and, on the other hand, to the levers 29, tend to separate the pressure rollers 28 from the debtor 1, but this action is neutralized, in the position of the parts shown on figs. 1 and 2, by stops 32 resting against the cylindrical surface 25 of the ring 22. The stops 32 are formed by screws taking in the lugs 33 of the levers 29.
The device described and shown operates as follows. In the position of the parts shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the debtor 1 turns freely on the ball bearings 7. The pressure rollers 28 are held in the position shown in fig. 2 by means of levers 29, the stops 32 of which rest on the bearing surface 25 of the ring 22.
If we now want to load the debtor 1 with a perforated strip 2, this band not to be between the debtor 1 and the pressure rollers 28, we press the button 17. The axial displacement of the control rod 16 to the left of fig. 1, against the action of the pressure spring 18, produces the following effects: The ball 14, arriving opposite the groove 20 of the control rod 16, stops neutralizing the action of the bent spring 15, so that the latter acts to move the inner ring 12 upwards in FIG. 1, the ball 14 being engaged in the groove 20 of the rod 16.
As a result of the movement of the ring 12, its locking index 13 penetrates one of the holes 11 of the outer ring 10 secured to the debtor 1. The latter is therefore immobilized in a well-defined position. Fig. 4 shows this debtor blocking position. As a result of the movement of the control rod 16, the ring 22 releases the stops 32, because it is now the cylindrical bearing surface 24 of small diameter which is located opposite the stops 32. The torsion springs 31 therefore act on the levers 29 and move the pressure rollers 28 away from the debtor 1.
The space between the pressure rollers 28 and the debtor 1 is sufficient to introduce the perforated strip 2 therein. The control rod 16 is kept in its depressed position by the fact that the stops 32 are supported against the shoulder. 26 of the ring 22. Once the debtor 1 loaded on both sides with the perforated strip 2, the pressure rollers 28 are brought back by hand to the position shown in FIG. 2, by simply pressing them against the debtor 1.
The stops 32 then release the ring 22 so lidaire from the control rod 16, so that the latter, under the action of the pressure spring 18, moves to the right of FIG. 1, causing the ring 22 in its movement. The pressure rollers 28 are released, and the stops 32 bear again against the bearing surface 25 of the ring 22, thus maintaining the levers 21 and the pressure rollers 28 in their initial position given in FIG. 2. The perforated strip 2 is thus kept applied against the debtor 1, on either side of the latter, as clearly shown in FIG. 2.
When the control rod 16 returns to its initial position, the frustoconical wall of its groove 20 radially pushes back the ball 14. Under the thrust of the latter, the ring 12 moves downwards in FIGS. 1 and 4, which has the effect of releasing the locking index 13 from the outer ring 10 secured to the debtor 1. Said debtor 1 is then released and can rotate under the action of the perforated strip 2.
The blocking device described above finds particular application in additional players intended for the reproduction of musical signals recorded on perforated films. Such an application is shown schematically in FIG. 5. A reader 34 of the type mentioned is arranged in line with a cinematographic projection machine 35. The film 2 is fed from a housing 36 fitted with a device producing a slight tension of the film 2. The reader 34 ensures a completely stabilized scrolling of the film 2 at the place where the playback of recorded sounds occurs, for example by means of a magnetic head 37.
As shown in fig. 5, the film 2 follows a complex path over the various rollers and cylinders of the reader 34, forming a loop of defined length. This length is kept constant by the debtor 1. The film 2, driven by the projection machine 35, in turn drives all the various rollers and cylinders of the additional reader 34, as well as its debtor 1, free on its axis during the unfolding of the film 2.
The device described blocks the debi tor 1 to allow loading, at the same time as it frees said debtor from its pressure rollers 28, these two functions being performed by a single control of the push-button 17. The debi tor 1 being mechanically blocked, the operator has both hands free to load the debtor. In the absence of such a mechanical locking device, the operator would have to restrain the debtor with one hand, and it would be difficult for him to load the debtor with the other hand.
In addition, he would have difficulties in correctly fixing the length of the film 2 between the two passages on the debtor 1, on the one hand, and between the debtor and the projection machine, on the other hand, so that there is There is a risk of film breakage or slack, the latter case possibly causing a lack of synchronization between the projected images and the musical signals.
The debtor 1 could also have a single crown of teeth, in the case of a single perforation film.
