la fig. 1 représente une coupe longitudinale d'un arbre récepteur, muni de ses bagues;
la fig. 2 montre une coupe transversale d'une bague à bossages supportant un mandrin en carton;
la fig. 3 montre une coupe longitudinale de l'ensemble du dispositif;
la fig. 4 est une vue en perspective de la coquille;
la fig. 5 représente une vue en perspective de la coquille lors de son engagement, sur le chariot porteur;
1. la coquille est garnie de mandrins nus;
sur le bras de réception;
se centrent sur l'arbre récepteur;
en place sur la coupeuse;
Method for simultaneously dressing and stripping the receiving shafts of a cutter
forming ribbons from a thin strip of great width
and device for its implementation
The present invention relates to a method for simultaneously dressing and stripping the receiving shafts of a cutter forming ribbons from a thin strip of great width.
Currently, the mounting of the receiving mandrels on the two receiving shafts is done manually, with engagement and stacking on the shafts of a certain number of sets of intermediate pieces at the same time as the mandrels.
The cladding of a receiving shaft with cardboard cores therefore consists in successively engaging on this shaft sets made up of:
- a shoulder chuck holder ring ensuring
lateral mandrel spacing,
- a cardboard core,
- a knurled conical ring ensuring the support of the
cardboard core on the core holder ring and
whose taper makes it possible to absorb a certain
variation of man width dimensions
drin,
- a lugged intermediate ring, driven in
rotation by the shaft which is grooved.
The cardboard mandrel secured to the rings is driven in rotation by the friction exerted between the intermediate ring and the rings carrying the mandrel, this allowing relative rotation of the mandrels between them and a driving autonomy for each reel. In this assembly, the spacing of the mandrels is obtained only by stacking the three rings of each set and is independent of the variations in length thereof. The stripping is carried out by manually removing the three rings and the cardboard core, then lined with winding.
Such a device requires, for the dressing and the stripping of each receiving shaft, a relatively long time due to the handling, for each operation, of sets of three rings for each cardboard core.
On the other hand, the wear of the rings gives rise to variations in spacing, the effects of which are additive. This drawback is all the more noticeable as the length of the cardboard cores is shorter.
The object of the present invention is to simplify and mechanize these dressing and undressing operations of cutters of the Harnden type. These operations become very rapid due to the elimination of the handling of the rings during each operation.
In addition, the drawbacks of variations in spacing due to wear of the rings, produced by drive frictions, are avoided.
The method forming the subject of the present invention is characterized in that a two-piece shell provided with internal annular recesses is furnished with mandrels, for the covering of the receiving shaft, provided with bosses, in that a carriage carrying the shell is moved coaxially with the bossed receiver shaft which engages the hollow of the mandrels, which then center on the bosses, in that a yoke attached to the carriage pushes and slides at the same time the mandrels, equipped with windings, initially placed on the receiving shaft taken from a cutter, stack them and slide them on a fixed receiving arm aligned with the receiving shaft for its simultaneous stripping, in that the carriage is brought back backwards, the shell is opened, the receiving shaft dressed with mandrels is extracted and brought to a cutter for winding,
the shell then being relined and closed and ready to serve again and the windings stacked on the receiving arm, removed for packaging, a full receiving arm being put back in place, for undressing.
The invention also relates to a device for implementing this method. This device is characterized in that it comprises a work table provided with a slide for a carriage, said carriage carrying a two-piece shell with spaced annular recesses constituting as many housings for bare mandrels, these housings being able to receive , by moving the carriage on the slide, a receiving shaft provided with bosses alternating with spacer rings, a fixed receiving arm being aligned with the receiving shaft and a yoke being fixed to the carriage.
The invention will be more easily understood with the aid of an exemplary embodiment, illustrated by the appended schematic drawing, where:
fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section of a receiving shaft, provided with its rings;
fig. 2 shows a cross section of a boss ring supporting a cardboard core;
fig. 3 shows a longitudinal section of the entire device;
fig. 4 is a perspective view of the shell;
fig. 5 shows a perspective view of the shell during its engagement, on the carrier carriage;
figs. 6a, b, c, d, e, show schematic views of the device at different stages of operation.
As in fig. 3 shows, the device which is the subject of the invention comprises a fixed bench (6) slide (6a). This bench carries on one side a console (7) for a receiving arm (8) mounted in a cantilever manner at one end. The other end of this arm (8) has a flat 8A. A carriage 9 can move on the slide 6A and a two-piece shell 10 which will be described below is mounted on the carriage. This also carries a caliper 11.
According to fig. 1 and 2, a mandrel-holder receiving shaft 5 comprises a longitudinal groove 12. On the shaft are engaged rings 4 with bosses 13 alternating with intermediate rings 1, comprising lugs 14 which enter the groove 12. The rotation of the shaft 5 drives the rotation of the intermediate rings 1. Moreover, a spring, not shown, at the end of the shaft, compresses the rings in cooperation with an opposite stop, also not shown. The bosses rings 4 are thus pressed between pairs of intermediate rings 1 which in turn drive them by friction.
The whole of the shaft 5 and the sets of rings 1 and 4 remain constantly mounted.
This assembly is provided with cardboard mandrels 15 which fit onto the bosses 13 of the rings 4.
Such a packed assembly is placed in a shell 10 in two symmetrical pieces 16, 16 'as shown in FIG. 4, placed on the carriage 9 according to FIG. 3. The two halves 16, 16 'of the shell are provided internally with grooves 17. These two halves can be associated with a hinge, or by any other means. The grooves 17 serve to center the mandrels 15, the ends of which come to rest on the sides of the grooves 17. The corresponding cheeks serving as a support for two consecutive cardboard mandrels are spaced apart by twice the width of the tape to be wound up, the grooves have a width and diameter such that the mandrels are free inside.
For the arrangement of the shell 10 on the carriage 9, reference will be made to FIG. 5.
The shell 10 rests on two consoles 18, 19 at its ends. The consoles have for this purpose semi-cylindrical recesses. In the underside of the base 20 of the console 18 and in the underside of the base 21 of the console 19, cylindrical holes 22 and 23 are provided.
Furthermore, the carriage 9 is provided with cylindrical pins 24, 25 corresponding to the holes 22, 23 of the bases. This allows a rapid installation of the shell with its consoles, when replacing a shell by another having different dimensions, for housing mandrels of another length.
It is possible to provide locking of the lugs 24, 25 in the holes, by means of an appropriate locking system.
The movements of the carriage, and consequently of the shell, can be ensured by a pneumatic cylinder integral with the sliding bench. The openings and closings of the shell can also be made by two pneumatic cylinders. A suitable lever mechanism can combine the opening of the shell and a slight lifting of the receiver shaft in order to facilitate its handling and to avoid, during this, a displacement of the cardboard cores.
One of the peculiarities of the method described is the use of the slight elastic deformation of the cardboard cores by the bossed rings, on which they are fitted, this deformation giving sufficient tightening to hold the cardboard cores in place on the boss rings. during cutting and rewinding operations, but allowing the cardboard cores to slide over the bosses during dressing and stripping operations.
Another particularity of this process is that the centering of the cardboard cores on the bossed rings is obtained, at the end of the travel of the carriage, by the relative position of the shell and of the receiving shaft.
The sequence of the cycle of operations is as follows:
1. the shell is lined with bare mandrels;
2.the cart with the filled shell is moved on the
slide to a receiving tree carrying man
filled drins, the stirrup of the cart pushing the man
drins fitted with windings (E) by stacking them
on the receiving arm;
3.at the same time the receiving shaft stripped of man
drins penetrates shell and bare chucks
focus on the receiving tree;
4.the shell is opened and the receiving shaft re
Dressed in naked chucks is pulled out for her setting
in place on the cutter;
5.The mandrels with windings are removed from the
receiving arm.
This sequence is described in greater detail below, by means of diagrams 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 6e, showing the dressing and undressing device according to the invention at the various successive stages of its operation.
In fig. 6a, the carriage 9 carrying the shell 10 furnished with bare mandrels 15 is at the left end of the slide 6A. A receiver shaft 5 is axially aligned with the central channel of the shell 10 and rests on the left on the caliper and on the right on the flat 8A of the reception arm 8.
In fig. 6b, the carriage 9 has partially performed its course to the right on the slide, the caliper 11 has started to stack the mandrels 15 provided with windings (E). The shell 10 is fitted at the same time on the shaft 5, the mandrels 15 sliding on the shaft 5.
In fig. 6c, the carriage 9 has reached the end of its travel. The shaft 5 is completely lined with bare sleeves, while the mandrels 15 carrying windings (E) are stacked on the receiving arm 8.
In fig. 6d, the shell has been opened, the shaft 5 is lifted according to the arrow (F ') and is ready to be placed on the cutter. Bare mandrels 15 are already placed in the grooves 17 of the lower half-shell 16 ', according to the arrows (F ").
Finally, in fig. 6th, the carriage 9 is brought back and is ready for a new cycle. The package of windings (E) on the mandrels 15 is released from the receiving arm 8 and is lifted, according to the arrow (F "'), for the packaging of the windings.
The mechanical means for these operations are not shown, one can use pneumatic jacks, as indicated above, but other means can also be used, being of course moreover that the invention does not is not limited to the single exemplary embodiment, but extends to any variant in the same spirit.
It is possible to provide automatic programming controlling the various movements.
Boss rings and intermediate rings are mounted only once per cardboard core size. The spacing of the mandrels between them is not ensured by the stacking of the rings on the receiving shaft, but by the bearing faces of the grooves arranged inside the shell, which makes them independent of each other. the wear of the rings caused by drive friction.
In order to be able to use mandrels made of rigid material, such as mandrels of plastic material, the bossed rings can be constituted by rigid rings, provided with bosses of deformable material. The sliding of the mandrels on the bossed rings can then take place by virtue of the elastic deformation of the bosses and no longer by that of the cardboard mandrels.
