Aldehyd abgebenden. Verbindungen, Aerolein, Furfurol, Methyläthy lketon in Be tracht.

Tanning process The present invention relates to a process for tanning hides and fur, which is characterized in that a hide or a. Fell with aasionic and cationic condensation resins, which were obtained from organic compounds and oxo compounds containing amino and / or imino groups and, in the case of the aillonic condensation products, additionally from compounds capable of condensation with acidic, water-soluble residues.
It has been found that such resin tanning agents achieve excellent tanning effects, in particular excellent binding of the tanning substances in the hide and in the leather. The tanning process can be carried out one after the other with the individual kaiionic and aasionic resins, for example by first pretreating with cationic resins and post-treating with aasionic resins, or conversely, pretreating with aasionic resins and post-treating with canonical resins.
In this way, even when tanning with these resin tanning agents alone, leather is kept, which is characterized in particular by its fullness and feel as well as in the grain pattern, as they are in the same way by post-treatment with mineral, vegetable or synthetic tanning agents of another type or cannot be achieved with fatty tanning agents.
The softness and elasticity of the incorporated resins and thus the suppleness of the leathers obtained can also be varied by treating them together with or after pretreatment with cationic. Resins switches on a treatment with cationic fatty substances, whereupon the treatment with the aasionic resins is carried out.
You can reverse the tanning process, li. H. start with the , -iue treatment with aasionic resins, but then have to use anionic fatty substances for the intermediate treatment. In this way, the softness and suppleness of the leather can be varied within a wide range between clothing leather and. Upper leather character vary.
Under alkaline resins, which are known, one understands those which have been obtained from organic compounds containing amino or imino groups and oxo compounds and additionally from condensable compounds with acidic, water-soluble residues.
Organic compounds capable of condensation with oxo compounds are, for example, urea, thiourea, methylenedi urea, cyanamide, guanidine, alkylgltanidine, dicyandiamide, dicyandiamidine, melanin. As oxo compounds come in addition to formaldehyde and Aeetaldeliyd or corresponding.
Donate aldehyde. Compounds, Aerolein, Furfurol, Methyläthy lketon in Be tracht. In order to obtain anionic resins, compounds with acidic, salt-forming groups, such as alkali metal sulfites or bisulfites, aminocarboxylic acids, are added to these starting materials during the condensation; such as
B. aminoacetic acid, Aminoalkyl- sidfonsäuren such. B. Taurun, Aininoarylsul- fonsäuren such. B. sulfanilic acid, oxycarboxylic acids, such as. B. lactic acid, oxysulfonic acids, such as. B. isethionic acid, formaldehyde sulfoxylic acid or their salts.
Cationic resins which are known are understood as meaning those which are obtained from the same amino or imino groups containing the organic compounds or the same oxo compounds as were used in the preparation of the anionic resins. Some of these resins have a cationic character as such and can be converted into water-soluble salts with appropriate inorganic or organic acids.
But you can also give them cationic character by condensing more basic components, so z. B. ammonium salts, polyamino compounds, such as. B. Polyalky- lenpolyami_n.e, such as triethylenetetramine, Tetra ätlnylenpentamin, oxyalkyleneamines, such. B.
Dimethylamuzoethanol, diethanolamine, oxazolidine, polyphenylbigLna.nide. Known kaiionic resins can be, for example, condensation resins made from urea, dicyandiamide or melanin and oxo compounds, such as formaldehyde or its water-soluble salts with organic or inorganic acids.
The aforementioned anionic or cationic resins can be used both in the form of their precondensates and in a condensation stage that is just water-soluble, which will depend essentially on the tanning method used and the tanning effects sought. You can bring the anionic and cationic resins to action at the same time, namely z.
B. in such a way that aqueous solutions of the salt-like electroneutral resins formed from both components are incorporated into the hides and skins. If these electronically neutral resins are insoluble in water, they can be brought into solution by using a slight excess of the anionic or cationic component.
Known surface-active substances can be used as cation-active or anion-active fatty substances in the process, in particular quaternary ammonium salts and other onium salts, alkyl sulphates, alkyl sulphonates, all-larylsulphonates, sulphonated or sulphited animal and vegetable oils or fats and the like , and under certain circumstances also electrically neutral, surface-active compounds such.
B. the well-known Äthylenoxidanlagerungsprodukte.
When using the resin tanning substances mentioned, an excellent tanning effect is achieved. However, they can also be used with mineral or synthetic tanning agents of another type or vegetable tanning agents or with. Combine fatty tanning agents in the form of pre-tanning or retanning, for example to obtain greater fullness of the leather.
In this case, the method is particularly suitable in combination with. the chrome tanning. If you treat chrome-tanned leather with the combined resin tanning, you will keep fuller and finer-grain leather than if you did. anionic and kaiionic resin tanning agents are used alone, even if the resin treatment is combined with vegetable or synthetic resin tanning, which usually results in coarse grained leather.
With the process according to the invention, the best results are generally achieved if, in the tanning of hides and skins, first the cationic resin tanning agent is used and then the anionic resin tanning agent.
This requires 0.5-9-0%, preferably 5-711 / 1) cationic resin tanning agents and 0.5-5%, preferably 1-2% anionic resin tanning agents, based on the pelt weight. When using smaller amounts of the resin tanning agents, e.g.
For example - 1-2% of the cationic resin and 0.5-1% of the anionic resin, chrome retanning can be carried out in the usual way with 1-1.5 / o Cr.03, based on the pelt weight. The method is particularly suitable for the production of heavily filled chrome leather, whose derogatory parts, such. B.
Abdominal parts, flaming, are particularly well filled.
The method can be used with advantage for the production of all known types of leather, so for the production of Le derarten from columns or animal skins, such. B. deer and deer skins, lamb, sheep, kid and goat skins, calf skins, pig skins, cattle skins and other hides of large cattle. Furthermore, the process is suitable for tanning fur skins of all types, such as foal, lamb, rabbit and noble skins, and for tanning reptile skins. Accordingly, for example, glove leather, clothing leather, shoe upper leather, suede leather,
Manufacture leather for technical purposes.
In the examples below, the percentages relate to the pelt weight or, in the case of chrome pretanning, to the shaved weight.
Examples 1 .. Manufacture of white, soft, light-resistant leathers for clothing purposes (glove leather) Stained sheep or goat pelts (pn 7 to 7.5) are treated with 50% water (20 C) 40% of a cationic resin tanning agent from 0.5 mol guanidine hydrochloride 0.5 mol diey andiamide 3.0 mol formaldehyde The running time is 3 hours.
The aftertreatment is then carried out in the same liquor with about 1% of an anionic resin tanning agent from 1 mol of dicyandiamide 3.5 mol of formaldehyde 0.5 mol. Sodium bisulfite (1:10 to 1:15 diluted with water). The anionic resin tanning agent is slowly dissolved in solution added within about 3/4 to 1 hour in the aftertreatment. The further running time is about 1 hour.
The skins are taken out. Stored for 1-2 days on the trestle, rinsed and treated with 2-4% of a commercially available, light-resistant fatliquoring agent, consisting of coconut oil, coconut fatty acid triethanolamine soap and a condensation product. Licked from 10 moles of ethylene oxide and lauryl alcohol. A soft, white, lightfast leather with good body and a supple handle is obtained.
A further improvement of the leather, in particular a desired bluish shade of the leather color, can be achieved if the leather is then acidified in the same bath with formic acid to a pH value of 4.2-4.4 and with 0.5% Cr.03 (commercially available chrome tanning agent) im. the same bath is retanned.
The running time is about 1/2 to 1 hour. Working up is carried out as usual.
2. After the - pretreatment with the cationic resin tanning material mentioned in Example 1 takes place in the same liquor. Post-treatment with 0.5-1% of a loosening oil, consisting of a mixture of sperm oil and nipple oil mixed with dodecyl-dimethyl-benzylammonium chloride or another quaternary ammonium salt, e.g.
B. with the reaction product of dodecylchloroacetic acid ester and dimethyl cyclohexylamine is emulsified.
The running time is 45 minutes. Then about; 1% of the anionic resin tanning agent as in Example 1 slowly incorporated.
de after the desired softness and speed can be licked with commercially available lick oils. 3. Production of white upper leathers Stained veal or beef skin (pH 7 to 7.5) are peeled with 100% water 6% table salt 1% potash alum 0.6-0814 sulfuric acid,
96% chrome tanning is carried out in a pimple bath with 0.5-0.8% Cr203 (commercially available 33% basic chrome tanning agent). The running time is 4 hours. without blunting.
The resin tanning takes place in a new bath with 50% water (20 C); about 5/0. of an anionic resin tanning material from 1 1M1 dicyandiamide 3.5 mol formaldehyde 0.45 mol bisulfite The running time is 2 hours.
In the same bath, 1-2.50 / 0 of the cationic resin donor from 1 mol of dicyandiamide 4.5 mol of formaldehyde is then slowly added over the course of one hour. The . further running time is 1 hour.
The skins are then taken out, stored on the trestle for about 1-2 days, rinsed and finished with light-resistant greasing agents in the normal way.
4. Filling tanning Chrome-tanned calfskin or cowhide are in the non-neutralized state (pH 3.8 to 4) post-treated with 50% water (20 C), 5% of an anionic resin tanning agent made from 1 lol Dic3 andiamide 3.5 mol formaldehyde 0,
5 12o1 Bisttlfit The tanning agent is divided into 2-3 parts in solution. Treatment bath added.
The running time is 2 hours. Subsequently, 1-2.5% of the cationic resin tanning agent is extracted from the same bath. 0.5 mol guanidine hydrochloride 0.5 mol dicyandiamide 3.0 mol formaldehyde in about 4 = 5% solution slowly within about,
1/9 to 3/4 hour added and on! finally 0.2-0.50 / (> ammonia added. The liquor becomes completely clear at the end of the sewing treatment. The leathers are then taken out of the bath, neutralized, rinsed, dyed, greased in the usual way and finished. Fine-grain leather with a good grip and high body is obtained, especially in the softer parts of the skin.
5. Filling tanning: Chrome-tanned calfskin and cowhide are, in the non-neutralized state at pli 3.8-4.0 after folding, after-treated with 50% water (40 ° C) 51 / o, the anionic resin tanning material made from 1 mole of dicyandiamide 3.5 llol formaldehyde 0.475 mol bisulfite The running time is 1/2 hours.
The amount of dye required for dyeing, about 0.8-1.51 / o of a conventional leather dye (based on the shaved weight), is then added to the anionic resin tanning bath. The further running time is about 1 1/2 hours.
In the same bath 1-2.5% of the cationic resin tanning agent from 0.5 mol of gttanidine hydrochloride 0.5 mol of dicyandiamide 3.0 mol of formaldehyde is then slowly added in several portions within about 1 hour.
The further running time is about 1/2 hour.
Now it is blunted with 0.2-0.5% ammonia (250 / aig) and, after a further running time of about 1/2 hour, rinsed (pn value of the leather 5.5) and licked as usual, dried. and finished in the normal way.
