<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Method for permanent regulation of a rotating member and device for its implementation The present invention relates to a method and a device for permanent regulation of a rotating member in a similar continuous manner of the type according to which this member is subjected to the action of a part oscillating at a stable frequency and the oscillations of which maintained by the rotating member precisely delimits the speed of rotation of said rotating member.
Processes and devices of this type are used very frequently in precision mechanisms and, in particular, in watchmaking. However, the various exhausts with magnetic or mechanical regulators of this nature have significant defects which have only been partially corrected to date. We can thus cite as a reminder the galloping of the mechanism due to an overvoltage of the mainspring or to an excess of torque for example, when setting the time or during reassembly, to a shock or to a shock. , etc.
Now, in ordinary magnetic or mechanical escapements, it is inadmissible to have too large an amplitude of the vibrations or oscillations, because it regularly leads to an uncontrolled movement of the gear train, which is always catastrophic in watch movements. It is impossible, without stopping the movement, to stop the gallop which results from it and which completely distorts any adjustment.
The method according to the present invention overcomes these drawbacks and is remarkable, in particular in that it consists in causing the oscillating part to act on the rotating member by means of a pivoting element, said pivoting element and said oscillating part being mounted so as to cancel any untimely action produced for example by a shock, a push, etc.
It is immediately understood that the use of an intermediate element makes it possible to cancel any dangerous repercussions on the vibration of the oscillating part which, in this case, can be constituted by a synchronization rod.
The invention also relates to a device for implementing the aforementioned method, remarkable, in particular in that it comprises a pivoting element interposed between an oscillating part and the rotating member, said pivoting element and said oscillating part being mounted in so as to cancel any untimely action produced, for example, by a shock, a push, etc.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example only, one embodiment of the device according to the invention and two variants.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
fi g. 1 shows this embodiment of the device, shown schematically; the fia. 2 shows a first variant; fig. 3 shows a second variant. According to the fi-. 1, the mechanism comprises, on the one hand, a rotating disc 1 driven by a rotational movement in the direction of arrow f. In the vicinity of the periphery of this wheel, two series of so-called synchronization pins 2 and 3 are provided, distributed over two concentric circles 4 and 5.
The pins 2 and 3 cooperate magnetically, with a magnet 6 carried by a rocker-forming element 7 integral with a pivoting shaft 8 and connected with embedding at 9 to an oscillating rod 10, the end 11 of which is free.
According to a variant, the pins 2 and 3 could cooperate mechanically with a pin carried by the element 7.
We immediately see that, when the wheel 1 rotates in the direction of the arrow f, the pins 2 and 3 which are staggered on the periphery of the wheel come to act successively on the magnet 6 carried by the lever 7 and force that here to perform an oscillating movement in the direction of the arrows f and f "thereby producing corresponding oscillations of the end 11 of the rod 10. The rocker shaft serves as a place for embedding the vibrating rod which can "be provided, if desired with a weight at its free end 11. An essential condition is that the assembly formed by the balance 7 and the rod 10, when mounted as shown in fi-. 1, is balanced.
The escape mechanism is then insensitive to external disturbances such as shocks, vibrations, etc., and any direct interaction is prevented between the rotating member and the oscillating rod. The latter considered alone is obviously not balanced.
It is easily understood that the rotating wheel alternately brings each of the pins 2 and 3 in the vicinity of the magnet 6 carried by the lever, which causes an attraction of the latter alternately by the pins 2 and 3 in two opposite directions, producing a oscillatory movement materialized by the two arrows f and f ". This oscillatory movement naturally maintains the vibrations of the rod which have repercussions on the speed of passage of the pins and, consequently, on the rotation of the wheel 1.
It is obvious that the rocker itself can be made of a material of low specific weight in order to reduce its moment of inertia. It is also possible to replace the magnet 6 carried by the rocker by a metal pin with high magnetic permeability and make the pins 2 and 3 magnetized. The wheel itself can be made entirely of high permeability metal and the pins can be replaced by protrusions obtained in the mass by machining or by stamping. It should also be emphasized that the point of embedding of the rod in the shaft 8 may or may not be located on its geometric axis.
The example of fig. 2 differs from the previous one only by the fact that the rod is made independent of the rocker. Indeed, the rod is, in this case, embedded at 13 in a fixed frame 12. Its free end 14 carries a magnet or a pin with high magnetic permeability cooperating with a pin or a magnet 15 located on the corresponding end of the flip-flop 7. The operation of this device is similar to that which has just been described with regard to FIG. 1.
It will be observed in fig. 1 that the left end of the lever is significantly further from the support or axis 8 than the right end so that the lever 7, considered alone, is not balanced. However, the imbalance of the lever 7 is such that the assembly comprising the lever 7 and the rod 10 is balanced and insensitive to shocks and vibrations. In a sewblable manner, the magnet 6 of fig. 2 is appreciably further from the pivot 8 than the magnet 15 which cooperates with the end of the rod 10.
A shock tending to move the free end 14 of the rod 10 down is counterbalanced by the force developed by the unbalanced latch 7 which tends to move the magnet 15 upwards.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The example of fig. 3 relates to the case where the lever 7a carries a recessed rod and is in the form of a member with two separate arms 7 'and 7 "each carrying a pin 6' and 6". According to this variant, the pins placed on the wheel no longer need to be distributed in two circles and to be staggered.
A single row of pins 16 is sufficient, the distribution of which must be such that they act successively and alternately on the pins 6 'and 6 ", thus causing an oscillation of the lever 7 around its pivot axis 8 in the direction of the two arrows f and J ".
