folgende Verbindungen in Betracht: 1-Amino-2-methoxynaphthalin, 1-Amino-2-methoxynaphthalin-6- oder -7- sulfonsäure, 1-Amino-2-methoxy- oder -2-äthoxybenzol, 1-Amino-2-methoxy- oder -2-äthoxy-5-methyl- Benzol, 1-Amino-2,5-dimethoxy- oder -2,5-diäthoxy- Benzol,
1-Amino-2-äthoxy-5-methoxybenzol.
Process for the preparation of new polyazo dyes The present invention relates to the preparation of new polyazo dyes which, e.g. B. the dye of the composition
EMI0001.0003
the general formula (2) Rl-N = N-R2-N = N-R3-N = N-R4 correspond, in which R1 is a heterocyclic radical with a five-membered hetero ring, the at least two heteroatoms, including at least has an exclusively ring-shaped nitrogen atom,
R2 and R3 each have an aromatic radical bonded to the azo groups in the p-position and have a maximum of 10 aryl carbon atoms, the radical R. containing an alkoxy group in the o-position to N = N-R4, and R4 a naph - thaline carbon atom bound to the azo group,
in o-position to this radical containing an oxy group.
The new dyestuffs of the formula (2) are obtained according to the invention by coupling oxynaphthalenes which couple in the o-position to the oxy group with diazo compounds of aminodisazo dyestuffs of the general formula (3) R, - NNR "N = NB, 3 NH2, in which R1 is a heterocyclic radical with a five-membered hetero ring,
which has at least two heteroatoms, including at least one exclusively ring-shaped nitrogen atom, R2 an aromatic radical with a maximum of 10 aryl carbon atoms attached to the azo groups in the p-position,
R3 denotes an aromatic radical with at most 10 aryl carbon atoms which is bonded to the azo and amino groups in the p-position and has an alkoxy group in the o-position to the amino group.
The amino disazo dyes of the formula (3) used here as starting materials are obtained by coupling a diazo compound of an amine of the formula R1 NH2 with a primary amine of the formula H R2 NH2, further diazotizing the aminomonoazo dye obtained and the diazoazo compound with another one of the formula I3 R3 NII2 corresponding amine combined.
R1, R2 and R3 have the meaning mentioned at the beginning, and the amino groups of the azo components are each in the p-position to the carbon atom which can be injected; the azo component to be used in second position must also contain an alkoxy group in the o-position to the amino group.
The starting components of the formula Rl-NH2, which are used as starting materials, contain a five-membered IIeteroring; the -NI-12 group can be attached directly to this ring; but it can also be attached to an aromatic residue, e.g. B. a benzene ring, be bound, which in turn is linked to the hetero ring mentioned either by a simple direct bond or condensed before geous (that is, in the latter case, two ring carbon atoms of the aromatic radical also belong to the hetero ring).
The hetero ring contains at least two heteroatoms, of which at least one is an exclusively ring-shaped stick material atom "that is, a nitrogen atom whose three valences are all saturated by the ring formation.
Valuable results are obtained, for example, with those initial components of the formula Ri NH2, the radical R1 of which is composed of a benzene ring bonded to the azo group and a five-membered hetero ring condensed with this, the hetero ring being the ring members only nitrogen atoms apart from carbon atoms, including at least one ring-shaped nitrogen atom.
Among the initial components of this composition are in particular the aminobenzotriazoles to be mentioned. The following compounds may be mentioned as examples of suitable starting components
EMI0002.0043
EMI0003.0001
4- or
7-aminobenzotriazole 6-aminobenzotriazole, 6-aminobenzothiazole and the compounds of the formulas
EMI0003.0005
As amines of the formulas H-R.-NH2 and H-R.-NH2 used to build up the amino disazo dyes of the formula (3), z. B. in the p-position to the NH2 group coupling, primary amines of the naphthalene series or especially the benzene series are used ver.
The amines of the formula H-R. NH2 present in the o-position to the amino group: alkoxy group advantageously contains only a few carbon atoms, as is the case, for example, with the ethoxy or methoxy group.
As amines of the formulas NH2 and 1 or H-R2 N1,2 come z. B.
the following compounds are suitable: 1-amino-2-methoxynaphthalene, 1-amino-2-methoxynaphthalene-6- or -7-sulfonic acid, 1-amino-2-methoxy- or -2-ethoxybenzene, 1-amino-2-methoxy - or -2-ethoxy-5-methyl benzene, 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxy or -2,5-diethoxy benzene,
1-amino-2-ethoxy-5-methoxybenzene. As amines of the formula H-R2. The following compounds can also be used for NH2: aminobenzene, 1-amino-2- or -3, methylbenzene, 1-amino-2,5-dimethylbenzene, 1-amino-3-methoxybenzene.
The coupling of the amines of the formulas H-R. NH2 and H-R.-NH2 with the diazo compounds or the diazoazo compounds generally take place in a doubtful manner. in weakly acidic, e.g. B. acetic acid medium.
If these azo components have only weak coupling power, they are advantageously coupled in the form of their o) -methanesulphonic acids, and the methanesulphonic acid group is subsequently split off again.
As oxynaphthalenes, which give the radical R4 of the dyes of the formula (2), oxynaphthalenes which couple in the o-position to the oxy group or those which can be coupled in this position are to be used. Otherwise, these end components can be chosen as desired. However, it proves to be expedient to use oxynaphthalene monosulfonic acids.
Particularly good results are generally achieved with aminomonoxynaphthalenesulfonic acids, which may optionally be further substituted in the aminogroup. The following compounds are mentioned as examples:
2-oxynaphthalene, 1-oxynaphthalene-4- or -5-sulfonic acid, 2-oxynaphthalene-4-, -5-, -6- or -7-sulfonic acid, 1-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 1- Amino-8-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid, 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid and the N-substitution products of these compounds, such as 2-phenylamino,
2-acetylamino- or 2-benzoylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, and also the monoazo dyes which are still capable of coupling and which are obtained by acidic coupling of diazo compounds with 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid.
The 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid and its N-substitution products, such as. B. 2-acetyl-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid.
The coupling of the diazodisazo compounds with the oxynaphthalenes is expediently carried out in an alkaline medium, and this type of coupling proves to be necessary in cases where the desired coupling otherwise does not take place in the ortho-position to the oxy group.
As a rule, when building up the dyes, it is advisable to choose the starting materials so that the end materials contain a single sulfonic acid group. It is advantageous to use diazodisazo compounds free of sulfonic acid groups so that one of the aforementioned oxynaphthalene monosulfonic acids can be selected as the end component.
If the azo dyes obtainable in the manner indicated still contain a diazotizable amino group in the remainder of the end component, they can, if desired, be further diazotized and coupled with other suitable azo components, such as 1,3-diamino benzene. It is also possible to carry out such diazotization and couplings on the fiber.
The polyazo dyes of the formula (2) obtainable by the present process are suitable for dyeing a wide variety of materials, eg. B. animal fibers such as wool, silk and leather, but especially for dyeing and printing cellulosic materia lien such as cotton ,, linen, rayon and rayon from regenerated cellulose. The dyes can advantageously be treated on the fiber or partly on the fiber and partly in the dyebath with metal donating agents according to the generally known processes. Advantageously, for. B. the method of French patent specification No. 809893 can be used, after which in the same bath first colored and then the treatment with metal donors is made before.
Metal-donating agents are preferably those that are resistant to alkaline solutions, such as complex copper tartrates.
In some cases, particularly valuable dyeings can be obtained if one works according to the method according to which the dyeings or prints made with the metal-free dyes are aftertreated with such aqueous solutions, the basic formaldehyde condensation products from compounds that at least once Atom grouping
EMI0004.0072
have in the molecule, e.g. B. dicyandiamide and dicyandiamidine, or those, such as. B. cyanamide, can easily pass into such compounds, and contain water-soluble, especially complex copper compounds. Such Ver drive are z. B. in French patent writing No. 929599 described.
In the following examples, unless otherwise noted, the parts are parts by weight and the percentages are percentages by weight; the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 28.2 parts of the monoazo dye obtained by coupling diano-oriented 6-aminobenzotriazole to 1-amino-2-methoxy-5-methylbenzene are dianotized and, in the presence of sodium acetate, with 15.3 Part 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxybenzene coupled.
After the coupling has ended, the disazo dye is filtered off, suspended in water, dissolved with somewhat dilute sodium hydroxide solution and, after the addition of 8 parts of sodium nitrite, dissolved in water, dianotized by adding α-naphthalene sulfonic acid. The mixture is left to stir for a few hours at ordinary temperature until the dianotation has ended, and it is ensured that there is always an excess of nitrous acid present.
The diazo compound is then filtered off, if necessary after the addition of a little salt, and combined with an alkaline sodium carbonate solution of 23.9 parts of 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid while cooling. A little pyridine can be added to accelerate the coupling.
After filtering off and drying, the dye forms a dark powder, which is in conc. Sulfuric acid dissolves with blue, in hot water with a blackish-blue color and which gives wash- and light-fast, black colorations on cotton, coppered in the same or fresh bath.
If instead of the 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid, 2- (4'-amino-phenylamino) -5-oxynaphthalene-7,3'-disulfonic acid is used as the end component, one obtains one Dye that dyes cotton in greenish navy shades using the one- or two-bath re-coppering process.
The dye obtained from 6-aminobenzotriazole, 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxybenzene, 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxybenzene and 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid according to the above information , dyes cotton in blackish navy blue tones using the one-bath or two-bath re-coppering process.
Example 2 23.8 parts of the monoazo dye obtained from dianotated 6-aminobenzotriazole and the co-methanesulfonic acid of aminobenzene and subsequent cleavage of the o) -methanesulfonic acid residue are dianotized and 15.3 parts in weak acetic acid solution 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxybenzene coupled.
The disazo dye obtained is mixed with a little water, mixed with a-naphthalenesulfonic acid and dianoed by adding sodium nitrite solution, corresponding to 7 parts of nitrite.
The mixture is stirred for a few hours at the usual temperature, the disazo compound is filtered off and coupled with an alkaline sodium carbonate solution of 23.9 parts of 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid while cooling. The dye is deposited by adding a little sodium chloride; when dried it forms a dark powder, which is in conc. Sulfuric acid with a dull blue, dissolves in water with a blackish color and dyes cotton in black tones, which are made light and washfast by copper.
Diazotizing this dye and coupling with 1,3-diaminobenzene gives a deep black, very washfast dye.
