Valve comprising a mechanism for automatically interrupting the passage of a fluid It is known that the valves currently manufactured and used on the various liquid, gas and vapor pipes present a serious drawback, namely: when some damage occurs at the tap or if it is necessary to change its closing seal, before dismantling it, one is obliged to cut or interrupt the passage of liquid, gas or vapor to avoid spillage or losses. This makes it necessary to close the key or the general valve of the pipe.
The object of the present invention consists of a valve comprising a mechanism which causes the automatic interruption of the passage of liquid, gas or vapor (under the own pressure of the fluid), when, for any reason whatsoever, by example to change the closing gasket, it is necessary to disassemble the valve. This automatic interruption is effected by a valve acting under the effect of the pressure of the fluid.
There is shown, by way of example, in the attached drawings, an embodiment of the valve according to the invention. The unique figure of this sin is a vertical section along the axis of the valve which can be installed in any vertical, horizontal or inclined position.
As shown in the figure, the valve is constituted by a body 1 which has a cavity l 'situated in the extension of an inlet pipe la for the fluid and in communication with another pipe 1 "for the outlet. inside the cavity can move, in the direction of the axis, a rod 2, so that its end which carries the closing seal 3 can be applied against a protruding part 4 provided on a part cut between the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe.
The axial displacement of the above-mentioned rod 2 takes place due to the fact that the rod is integral with a cap 5 which, by means of a sleeve 6 which is integral with it, can be screwed or unscrewed on a pre-threaded part. view of the exterior part of the body 1. The rod 2 is guided inside the cavity 1 'of the body 1 by means of a nut 7 tightening a gland 8.
Consequently, by screwing the cap-sleeve 5-6 on the threaded part of the body 1, the rod 2 by its end which carries the closing seal 3, the closing seal fixed by means of a sleeve 9 screwed on the rod above, will rest against the projection 4 interrupting the wise passage of the fluid towards the outlet pipe 1 ".
On the contrary, by rotating the bonnet-sleeve 5-6 two or three turns in the opposite direction, the fluid which enters the valve in the direction of the arrow a will be able to pass into the outlet pipe 1 ". note that the nut 7, the stuffing box 8 prevent the fluid (liquid, gas or vapor) from coming into contact with the threaded parts of the bonnet-sleeve 5-6.
Here is now how the automatic interruption of the fluid is carried out under the latter's own pressure, when, for whatever reason, for example to change the closing seal 3, it becomes necessary to disassemble the rod. 2.
In the constricted part 12, a seat is provided for a valve 10. This valve placed in the inlet pipe 1a of the body 1 is suitably guided by its end passing through the constricted part 12 and, when it is applied against the seat provided in said choked part as a result of the own pressure of the fluid (when the rod 2 has been sufficiently separated from the projection 4), it automatically interrupts the circulation of the fluid entering the cavity in the direction of the arrow a through the part 11 integral with the body 1 and which serves to couple the valve to a pipe for supplying the fluid, not shown in the drawing.
On the contrary, when the closing seal 3 of the rod 2 acts against the end of the valve 10 (position shown in the drawing), the fluid which, in the direction of the arrow a, enters the cavity 1 of the body 1 , exits to the outside through the pipe l ", given that its wise passage is possible thanks to the grooves 10 'provided on the tail of said valve 10.
As a variant, the cap 5 and the sleeve 6 could be in one piece instead of two coupled together, and the cap could present, to allow it to be grasped, outer stripes or streaks and be colored. The action of closing the valve under the pressure of the fluid could be aided, if desired, by a spring.
